Yes but you're not missing much as the service is hit or miss. With a few searches you can find ways around the ban but it is likely not worth the trouble.

Yeah, but most places don't even have Android Pay terminals, and the few that do tend to be wonky about proper readings. Not to mention there's already Google Wallet which works better and is more widely accepted.

Most places that support Apple Pay also support Android Pay as they fundamentally use the same technology.

If your phone has NFC you can use android pay with any contactless terminal which is basically every shop in my city.

It uses the same terminals as standard contactless cards. So basically most places.
Question is, is it easier to get your contact less card out of your pocket, or you phone, given that you have to unlock it.

Yeah, they added this recently. I can't really explain the whole process but I followed a post as a OP3 owner and have sultan's ROM with android pay still working. I cannot justify going onto that since Google could fix this workaround within literally the next 5 minutes.

Banks in my country have their own implementation of nfc payments through their separate apps, and they couldn't care less if your phone is rooted. Not sure why you would want to do it through a third party implementation, but there you go.
