Is there any reason not to use Opera as your daily browser? Chrome has been really buggy lately and Firefox is my dedicated fap browser

I had been using opera mini on my phone, but after an update it started loading pages slowly, so I switched back to Chrome.
there are several
>propietary fork of an open source project
why? what are they hiding
>chinese
not a mark of excellent quality
Fork you say? What's the original?
No, just use whatever you like. Why the fuck would you need 3 different browsers?
I only use two, I want to stop using chrome cuz it's bugging on me. Looking for a replacement.
its based on chromium
Yeah. It's an objectively superior alternative to Chrome.
>chinese
It's Norwegian, mate. A Chinese company buying its parent company doesn't make it Chinese any more than Fiat buying Ram makes it a European company.
yea and im sure chinese paid $600 million just so those norwegians can work with the peace of mind
they have absolutely no plans of selling your data to make profit at all
And I'm sure that Fiat paid hundreds of millions of dollars because of an evil conspiracy to undermine America using Ram.
Do you realize how fucking paranoid you sound?
It died three years ago and is now just a feature lacking Chromium fork
But it has more features than Chrome.
But not as many as SeaMonkey or Firefox and definitely not as many as real Opera.

Who /v7/ here?
> 2016
> not using MS Edge
being this retarded
You're the only one who mentioned any of those, though.
And?
...
You're comparing apples to oranges, user. If you want a Chromium-based browser, it's the best one that exists.
>Presto Opera never coming back again ever
Fuck Chrome
No I'm not. I'm comparing a browser to other fucking browsers.
i would switch but i have like 50 plugins on firefox and most of em arent on oother browsers
I have moved to opera (from chrome, wew lad still a botnet xd) and I have come to like of it, because it has a lot more functions compared to chrome
God I fucking hate internet explorer jesus christ
FACT: it is the best Blink (which is by far the best engine) based browser on the market with unique features
also
>We are also a major contributor to the Blink rendering engine, second only to Google.
and opera literally destroys the competition
Not really, i've been using it by 6 years now and even if i've tried different browsers i find this one being the best of all.
It has more features than other browsers, while being lighter on resources.
Ironically, Opera is based on the latest Blink features, so we're usually ahead of other browsers, sometimes even Chrome, to have them on the desktop.
No. SeaMonkey and Firefox are the best.
good joke, I laughed
1) testing (yes, in 2014 webpages may still look different on browsers using different "engines")
2) managing separate identities/accounts (it's faster than logging out and in)
3) useful capabilities (some browsers have better UIs but other may have better dev tools/extensions for a specific task)
>propietary fork of an open source project
So is Chrome and yet it's still widely used. If you're going to use a proprietary browser might as well use Opera. It's as powerful as Chrome and spread on every platform. The only difference is it doesn't have Google shit integrated and forced ads.
>why? what are they hiding
Their own code from their competitors.
> Opera_2015_icon.svg.png
I've been using it for the past 6 months anyway. Pretty good on desktop, godtier on mobile.
> chinese
I'd rather send my data to a random Chingchong for data mining than to the US / Google
So you're okay with the Chinese stealing your credit card info?
I'm sorry, but the fact that a chinese company, a really shitty one at that, now owns Opera is a pretty big red flag to me
how's the integrated VPN? Is it legit? They're just giving away VPNs for free?
Does it still have in-browser torrenting?
>implying that's any different than Americans stealing your credit card info
its legit, ive only used it once though
it lets you pick the location you want to show up as (country)
and i've never seen anything about in-browser torrenting
How do you unistall plugins?
>Is there any reason not to use Opera as your daily browser?
Not liking it? Not being able to modify it at will? I could go on but those are the basics.
Their sync service was hacked. I wouldn't trust that proprietary chink shite.
It's a proper VPN, but they're almost certainly selling your information when you use it, and they permanently keep logs.
No idea about the torrenting.
Why the fuck does the sync even matter? Nothing useful is even synced.
desu the only reason I don't use it is because it's not as good on mobile as other browsers.
>doesn't appear in share menu, e.g. the "Open in Chrome" option
>no ability to send a tab on mobile to your desktop browser like Firefox's "Send to Desktop"
>annoying horizontal tab display instead of a grid or vertical, wasting screenspace on a tiny screen
I spend a decent time browsing on mobile, so I guess I care about this stuff more than some other people.
FF for over a decade with no issues. I don't see a reason to change that.
>chinks
pls
Vivaldi mate.
Still based on chrome (well, webkit), but at least has decent and cutomizable UI.
6/10 good debate
Follow up question
Is Opera 12.16, the last Opera to use Presto, better than the current Opera?
Also I can't use firefox since porn
Yes
its pretty comfy on my new $100 shitbox. Mouse gestures work great with the trackpoint, better than i thought they would. the battery life indicator is actually nice, since i hide the taskbar to maximize window space.
How do you change default search engine to a custom one in Opera?
I'm using it for 17 years an finally gave up on 12, chropera is way better than vivaldi or chrome
thats a false analogy because ram isnt gratis, opera is
Because the only reason I don't use Chrome is because it doesn't let you turn off the autocomplete in the url bar. Opera is based on Chrome so it doesn't let you either.
I were v12 until Vivaldi came around
Viv is still somewhat shit but it feels like home
Too thick and you can't customize the interface.
Firefox is my dedicated fap+chan browser.
Vivaldi my main browser.
Opera my fallback/guests browser.
I use it but the gimmicks are pretty awful. At least you can disable them in flags. And the mobile version pretty much has no competition, its only fault is horrible History.
Is there any 64bit version of this?
Windows XP ????
Name a better Windows
Still using 12.17
Visible see the input lag Firefox has
Chrome doesn't have proper mouse inputs
Otter has all the Firefox issues
Using ChOpera for Flash/Video/Netflix
More sites is breaking for 12.17 by the day
Vivaldi, as neat as it is, is basically ChOpera 2.0
Closed source
+ Chinese owned
= Probably botnet
same
It's the only browser that I can use on windows 98 that has enough features to make the internet usable.
Funny, i just installed waterfox to try out since i'm having stability issues with opera.
Windows 10
Hell no! I don't want to stick google as my search engine.
Can i change the search engine without any add-on bullshit?
I use Opera which replaced Vivaldi which replaced Firefox.
Is there any reason not to use Chrome as your daily browser? I enjoy having a shared history/bookmaks between all my devices. It's very easy to find things I was looking at. The dev tools are also top notch.
On Opera? Yeah, try checking the settings.
Doesn't Opera have the same dev tools, though?
>Browser dedicated to browse porn
Why?
so that you can save all the filthy things in the history and not worry about others finding an inappropriate site in the address bar
palememe is better
