E-ink monitors when?

E-ink monitors when?
I can barely look at normal screens any more, they're killing me. F.lux is nowhere near enough.

When they fix that fresher flicker any time anything changes on the display.

Getting close, I think.

never used e ink, what makes it so special?

i have a pebble time and it's color e-ink at 30fps

why can't we have this on a larger display

It looks like paper, not light.

I haven't used one either, but I saw someone using one and I thought it was a book page in a frame before it moved.

for those who are autistic among us it makes viewing a more pleasurable experience.

autists like OP can barely look at a normal monitor without being sent into a fit of autistic rage

It would be extremely expensive

For u

what makes is special is that is requires no backlight and cannot be 'washed' out in the sun.

i dont give a shit, i just want a decent sized reader

i think i'm gonna wait for six more months to see whats going on and i'm gonna pull the trigger.

I'd buy a 1:1 e-ink monitor for maximum memes

Basically this.

I'd love to have some nice low-powered e-ink displays for things like having a dedicated computer resource usage screen and the like.

Find out where you can test one, it's a very cool technology, totally worth testing.

Oh, me too. In the bus to be more exact.

the way these displays work it would be incredibly expensive and difficult
the pixel has to be on or off, so i imagine, clusters of individual rgb pixels in an extremely dense format
i'm sure it's possible, but probably out of reach for any significant market, and that's why

Looks like they found a 'fix' for the entire screen refresh, but it is not pretty..

>Find out where you can test one
most electronic stores sell e-readers they are not some exotic tech

nigga do you fucking read where's waldo books ?
The point of an e-reader was to supplement print books, fucking a 13" display.. get the fuck out of here with that shit.

I know, but it's strange that that user never saw one . Maybe xor lives in a small city.

E-ink monitor would be great as server monitor

>only autists get their eyes damaged after staring 24/7 at a light source

>I can barely look at normal screens any more, they're killing me.

Then that means you have issues with your fucking eyes, son, and just having the eyelids open in any kind of light is either killing you too or you're lying.

I suspect you're lying and I am quite certain I'm not alone in this suspicion.

>stupid fucking people will be the death of us all

You can buy this overpriced 13'' e-ink monitor for $800 if you're that tormented by backlights.

it doesn't blind you in 20 years like a regular monitor does

seriously, i love mine.

I tried these years ago and didn't really notice any difference so i returned them.

These would actually be good for terminals.
