why the heck are u watching survivor

btw i think the old ui looked better

>old ui
Fucking config illiterates

wow why are you so hostile

Is there any way to disable showing the title in the OSD? It looks dumb to have it in the window title and also there.

when when when when ?

put no-border in your config file

Me too. The icons and text are far too big for the lack of whitespace in the new defaults. It's ugly as heck.

how do I get rid of this? when I toggle inf loop, I want it to only loop the current file, until I disable loop or manually advance to next file.

Survivor is the fucking shiznit.

Fuck off with your pleb shit Sup Forums

...

how do I change input.conf to toggle with "L" between loop-file=inf and loop-file=no?

i guess
L cycle-values loop-file "inf" "no"

>cycle-values
ah, thanks famalam

How do you change subtitle encoding? How do you change anything?

There's --sub-codepage which can be used with iconv/uchardet/enca to detect and convert subtitle encodings automatically

But the bottom line for subtitlte encoding is “use UTF-8 and convert broken files to UTF-8”. Don't expect much help getting broken files to work

And where the config file actually is?

That's not my question user. I want to make the OSD smaller.

To enjoy seeing women fail by the majority at what the majority of men succeed.

Why did mpv development slow down so hard in the past few days/weeks?
At first I thought wm4 was on vacation/ill but even though he kinda came "back", he is still pretty inactive.
What happened?

This is the end! :(

I find that open sauce devs lose their passion pretty fast, I've seen it happen with a lot of audio/video related projects sadly.

have you tried reading the manual?

that what happens with charity projects all the time - people lose interest

wm4 is literally employed by plex to work on mpv/plex media player

>tfw he'll announce that the open source version will stop being updated

I think he might be busy working on Plex. Apart from a couple of weeks break he has been active there github.com/plexinc/plex-media-player/commits/master.

then we can fork it in to Sup Forumspv. I already made a new logo.

It's not like he's not available anymore, he's active in IRC and pushing stuff sometimes but nowhere near as often as earlier.
That in itself is not the problem (you can't expect someone to be active for free) but there are also a few PRs that are left unattended. Issues pile up as well.

Also, is it just me or does it feel like the "developer community"/contributors around mpv are pretty much the same people all the time and get fewer in numbers (no new people)?

I'm using script-opts=osc-layout=bottombar,osc-seekbarstyle=slider,osc-scalewindowed=1.2,osc-scalefullscreen=1.2 in my mpv config but it seems the latest head fucked up the resizing of the bottombar

How do I fix?

that looks ugly

I liked the older mpv better with seekbar whatever.

is there any way to show the osd without putting the mouse pointer over it

MPV noob here, Is there something like this for MPV? And how do I get it working if there is?

I.E, I press D and I get a list of subtitles taken from opensubs or wherever.

It's the main reason why I still use MPC on my windows partition. it's just so damn comfortable.

Change the scale to .08 or whatever you want. Apply yourself!

There are a few options
github.com/mpv-player/mpv/wiki/User-Scripts

Thanks. That will come in handy.

Personally I put the scale on 0.6. Feels more natural.

Personally I use gist.github.com/selsta/ce3fb37e775dbd15c698 together with Subliminal.

You can get subliminal through pip as per usual with Python stuff. On Windows it's a little harder to get working however, though it is possible.

Why there is no remote app for android?
I have my tv connected to my pc as a second monitor with mpc-hc at full screen all the time. Then if I want to watch some movie I just turn on the tv and use the mpc-hc remote app to explore and play any files using my phone.

I can't get hardware decoding to work. Switches back to software.

>gist.github.com/selsta/ce3fb37e775dbd15c698

seems neat but no idea how to use. just copy paste and put in /bin/?

>the mpc-hc remote app

What app is this?

If you want help you'll need to provide more info. Config? OS?

Because no one has made one yet. What kind of dumb question is that? If thats what your needs are then stay with mpc-hc.

You put it in your ~/.config/mpv/scripts folder.

thanks pal

should the scripts folder just be called "scripts" ?Or does it not matter on the name. sorry for dumb question.

It should be called "scripts". Don't call it anything else.

Put the script inside the scripts folder. If you've installed Subliminal already through pip for example you can simply press "b" with a video file up and it'll search for subtitles.

working on it now with AUR.

Having problems installing subliminal though fails at end. Oh well. I'll live with out it. thanks though

Sorry lads but I guess a drag-to-pan script can't be implemented until wm4-san exposes the necessary properties.

github.com/mpv-player/mpv/issues/3503

Config is "profile=opengl-hq", Ubuntu. Intel HD 3000 graphics, so I know hardware acceleration is supported for h264

remoti.co lite, it's pretty cool you can browse all your local files.

ssh

Have you tried hwdec=auto or hwdec=yes

Also if you have a good cpu, software decoding will be better.

I thought the new OSD looked rather shit in that OP but I actually quite like it after seeing it myself, it's nice.

devastating news for the one person that cares

And?
That's the OSD I've had from the beginning

Rude. But I think it should be useful for people using mpv as an image viewer, and I know that there are a few.

Latest git version of mpv is broken

>enable vaapi hardware decoding (haven't tried others)
>open an 8bit h264 video (unless your hardware can decode 10bit h264)
>pause
>press f a few times
>everything is now blue

Video hardware is Intel integrated GPU in thinkpad x220

Known issue, revert 17733bd5b84a7bb8

I just updated to the latest mpv --HEAD and now i'm getting a blue screen when opening files

what do?

...

Is hwdec=cuda in my mpv.conf enough to set up mpv to use CUDA?

Also what version does the CUDA feature apply to?

that's it, going back to vlc
fuck your meme player

I was firing up some porn, when I noted the UI alterations.

Bye Felicia

Easy mistake with them putting a screenshot on the website of a custom UI, if you hadn't used it in a while you could assume that it was the new default.

noob here where is the osc.conf file

I looked in .config

there isn't even an mpv folder

>mpv memers getting blue screened by their video player
>meanwhile I am sat comfy just finished watching some video and a rented movie from win10 store on the film and tv app without any of this fuckery.

etc/mpv

Open a text editor and make mpv.conf
For input commands make input.conf

That's what you get for using git master instead of the stable release version

the better point is, how the fuck are there 2 seasons a year, and how have retards not gotten sick of it?

I use mphc and upgrade it only when shit doesn't work, and pot player for youtube videos when my web browser decides to tell me 'no you getting a slide show fuck you'

>etc/mpv/mpv.conf

didn't work

Are you on a linux distro? Do you have mpv installed?

yes
xubuntu 14.04

>Also, is it just me or does it feel like the "developer community"/contributors around mpv are pretty much the same people all the time and get fewer in numbers (no new people)?
Because people don't like working for free, and there is no interest for people to join due to the lack of GUI, any programmer with a common sense can see that this program will not hold it's own without one.

Kek you obviously dont know what you're talking about or...are you shitposting?

Is it possible to enforce anime and videos in general to use the subtitle font and styling that I want myself? Or will that fuck things up?

Nah, it's still shit compare to any other bottombar GUI.
so whats your theory?

Yes
u cycle-values ass-style-override "strip" "force" "yes"

I know its not because it doesnt have a gui. mpv is meant to be that way so it is more flexible. If you want a gui you can install one of many that are out there.

Yes you can customize pretty much everything
Look at some configs for examples or read the manua
lgithub.com/Argon-/mpv-config/blob/master/mpv.conf

>I know its not because it doesnt have a gui. mpv is meant to be that way so it is more flexible.
Amazing

You want a gui for mpv? Here you go. Scroll down to frontends.
wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/mpv

Just know that you wont have as many options as you do with a .conf file

might as well not be GUI's since they lack so much shit

Thanks, it won't fuck up anything right? Like the subs look all weird because they shouldn't be forced with another font or something?

Just try it.

That file is 10-bit h264, which can't be hardware decoded.

The only thing that "might" fuck up are OPs and EDs. Subs might look weird. Otherwise it's fine.

Huh. Well, fuck Diaz.

There's nothing wrong with software decoding. In general, if you can software decode, you should.

Maybe so (I'll take your word for it, I have no idea), but the problem with my X220 is that the cooling is absolutely abysmal (the tiny dual-heatpipe and fan simply cannot dissipate the heat of a 35W-TDP CPU), and so I'm trying to offload workload from it when I can.

Why does mpv ignore my screenshot-* settings? It doesn't ignore the other settings.

try
screenshot-template="~/Assortment/Screenshots/%F_%p"

Seems like Bomi still hasn't gotten any more development since it was announced the project was restarted a few months ago.

It is still the best GUI frontend/fork mpv ever had ;_;

github.com/xylosper/bomi

Same thing. Ignores and saves in the working file directory.

This is the format I use
screenshot-directory="/home/owner/Assortment/Screenshots/"
screenshot-template='/home/owner/Assortment/Screenshots/%F_%p'

It's the same. Something must be overriding it, but not the entire config since other options are taken - except I have no idea what. What a mess

I disagree fonts are good now
