A new report from NSS Labs has concluded that Microsoft’s Edge browser is more secure than Mozilla’s Firefox and Google’s Chrome browsers. Version 53.0.2785 of Google Chrome, 38.14393.0.0 of Microsoft Edge, and 48.0.2 of Mozilla Firefox were tested against a variety of phishing and malware attacks during the months of September and October. By the end of the tests, Microsoft Edge came out on top with a 91.4% success rate against phishing and an impressive 99% success rate against the malware attacks.
CHROMEFAGS ON SUICIDE WATCH
>phishing
>browser security
That's user security. Pure and simple.
Who cares? Are you too stupid to avoid fishy websites and scan the files you download before opening them? If you don't bother checking before opening the files then you deserve malware.
>socially engineered malware
This gets even worse.
>not using chromium
Plebs
Works great with the windows sandbox bug...
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Does it matter if you use noscript or umatrix + ublock origin + common sense + a sandbox or vm?
Chrome got 82.4% against phishing and 85.8% against malware while Firefox scored 81.4% and 78.3% respectively.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Are you retarded? It's even more insecure due to using outdated chrome code.
>edge
>BackDoors 10
>phishing counts as malware
Installing windows 10 already means you've been phished. Also
>probably not even using a hosts file to avoid malware domains in the first place
Security is not a product
It's the same code just without Google bloatware
>being this retarded
It's outdated hand me down code. Google doesn't release mainline Chromium code to the public before working on it behind closed doors and releasing it in the latest Chrome versions.
Their whole open source model is not open.
>Proprietary
>secure
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
fuck off
>Sonic
>Edge's scroll setting
ALL THIS CHROMEFAG DAMAGE CONTROL
The main problem with this test is that it doesn't test the security of the browser at all, it's just testing the detection of dangerous sites which, on Chrome and Firefox at least, are done by lists that are updated frequently and are not part of the browser itself (don't have to update the browser to get updated lists).
It's not testing how well the browsers protect against drive by downloads or malware in web pages.
>implying I use chrome
>Not using gods gift to browsers icecat
Wew, using outdated browsers
Would you like some cheese with that whine?
filthy dumb microshill scum
It is literally just testing protection against dumb users rather than smart malware agents.
>"more secure"
>closed source junk
How will freetards/googleshills ever recover from this?
>not using Opera
KEK
>edge
Enjoying your 0 extensions?
>chrome clone using outdated chromium base
This is almost as retarded as the faggot that said he uses fucking icecat lmao.
I have ublock origin working on edge just fine.
>implying edge ins't a enthernet explorer clone using shitty windows 10 system
This is almost as retarded as the faggot that said he uses fucking icecat lmao.
>chrome clone with more features, faster and without windows shit
Perfect.
>all these edgefags trying to be relevant
whatever makes you feel better about your insecure browsers lol!
>secure meme
Opinion discared, microsoft cock sucker.
>insecure browsers
I have 100% sure that Opera is more secure then edgeshit.
It should be noted that Version 53.0.2785 of Google Chrome is NOT the latest stable version.
/thread
Beta versions of chromium are released for testing before chrome gets the code.
Damn you are so mad haha.
OP says otherwise, Opera is a custom non-audited closed source on top of old chrome base, that means the matrix for security issues to larger. At the very best it is the same as chrome (which is worse then "edgeshit") and at worst it is a security disaster.
Don't forgot that Opera has been bought by several Chinese companies (one known infamous for mobile and desktop malware disguised as security software) and they conveniently added their own adblocker at the same time and took over control of all the opera vpn traffic.
>Edge browser is more secure
But Edge is malware itself. It's non-free software.
:^)
HAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA
Protip: Edge has been open sourced
Good thing I already use both. Edge is so much more usable since it got ad block and it works great for touchscreens.
>Version 53
That's like what, more than a month old?
The latest vanilla is 54 now.
Are you retarded? Do you think researchers review things from the future?
All these triggered Googlebots
Still missing a lot of features for me but it's definitely the best touchscreen browser.
Barely functions with ctrl+pgup/down
pdf viewer does not allow for arrow key navigation
bookmarks are all fucked, you can only edit them one at a time
Its because no ones using it, part of the reason why you dont get malware from regular use on linux
SECURITY MATTERS
>webrtc
>phishing
My fucking sides
Probably tested without adblock or umatrix, and therefore irrelevant to anyone on Sup Forums.
What's he doing to himself?
Security is the most important thing when choosing a browser.
