>implying malware can't just activate it again

If you can disable the device in Device Manager, any malware with admin privileges or malicious firmware can switch it back on. If you are worried about being spied on through your webcam and your webcam activating without the light switching on, you should physically disconnect it or put tape over it. I don't see how disabling it in software would give you any peace of mind.

Oh, it has a light indicator as well, right near it.

>I don't see how disabling it in software would give you any peace of mind.
Well, most software that would require now a webcam it tells me that my lpatop does not have one. whenever I need it, I can enable it manually with a few clicks.

I think it should ask for admin rights. And I never got malware on my PC to begin with.

>He doesn't physically remove the imaging and audio recording device

>Oh, it has a light indicator as well, right near it.

>implying they can't disable that
oh user

>And I never got malware on my PC to begin with.
That's like saying you don't use seat belts because you've never been involved in an accident.

Can they? Isn't the moment webcam receives power the led indicator receives as well?

Well, I don't really wear seatbelt. Only keep it with my hand if I notice the cable guys, otherwise no.

>Can they?
Depends on your model/laptop.
Open up the camera and check it.

Eh, I've never seen the webcam working without the led being on as well.

There was an article about a month ago on how a team managed to enable the webcam at a Mac without the led turning on.

Just tape the cam dumbass

I don't have a mac, it's an Asus laptop.

Yeah, that started it.

I was under the impression that the LED was soldered to the camera in some way. So when the camera is being used, the LED is turned on.

>botnet
better disable network adapters
>keyloggers

better turn CPU off

better disable graphics card
>heatsink has high frequency noise, might be sending data to asange
better remove heatsink

now i feel safe thenks

So I'm safe if I just disable the webcam in the BIOS, right?

Probably more than me, but you'll have to restart whenever you want to use it.

I have never and will never use the fucking webcam. I don't know why they exist.

I personally use it for chatting with people, but if you don't use it, disabling it from BIOS might be your best solution.

No one wants to see your huge neckbeard while you fap to furry porn
