They are.

Your post makes no sense.

Some how you lack the concept of linking calls to more efficient route. I'm sorry if those routes are not related to your pornhub websites.

Can someone explain the firefox forks to me?
>waterfox
x64 or multithreading support for windows?
>palememe
fork of old version before they changed theme?
>icecat
fully foss version of esr?
>iceweasel
debian foss version of esr?

i currently use esr

>slowest browser general thread

The next version that comes out in a week is supposed to improve performance with extensions. Sounds good to me. Although I only have two extensions so I probably wont see much.

waterfox: Firefox compiled with -O3 and in x64 and some more addons

palememe: old and shit, also outdated

icecat: GNU/FSF version of FF

iceweasel: Debian version

>"We are getting faster with every version!"
SLOW DOWN user, WE GONNA

except theyre not. opening the catalog, with e10 enabled, takes like 30 seconds where the whole of FF freezes

Iceweasel was actually discontinued recently. The whole reason the Debian project made it was the artwork in Firefox. Mozilla generally doesn't allow their artwork to be used on third party builds that modify the source code. You have to get permission from Mozilla to use their artwork in third party builds.

Works on my machine. Make sure your extensions aren't interfering with it.

When will they fix the memory leak?

I only have ublockO installed

when the patriarchy has been smashed!

Now list all your installed add-ons, then i will tell you exactly why this happening

is there a script to add close tabs to the left functionality?

Anyone get this weird problem where the browser will try to randomly select something from a background tab or window (while e10s is enabled)? It seems to happen at the least convenient times and can cause me to lose stuff I wrote down in the post box but it happens so infrequently that I haven't been able to figure out what exactly triggers it.

never had any problems on any OS platform. FF works, simply with uBlock Origin. Most of time your add-ons cause problems.

AtomBombing in wild.

Nightly has "close tabs to the right" and "close other tabs". Looks like it's going to be included soon.

>Most of time your add-ons cause problems.
this.
Since Mozilla blacklisted WoT, Firefox is now faster for some.

The stable version also had it since a long time, close tabs to the left has not arrive for many versions now. there are tab related extensions that give this option but I dont want anything else except the close tabs to the left option

This
With so many addons available retards install way too many, not knowing what the fuck they are doing to their performance.

chrome still works fast with all my addons

>Giving a shit about fractions of a seconds faster performance

What's life on the spectrum like?

It's literally fucking dogshit.

These tests were done on a Skylake Xeon, 16GB of RAM and a PCI-Express SSD. e10s enabled and dom.ipc.processCount set to 50. Now tell me Firefox isn't slow:

Firecocks is basically the Arma 3 of internet browsers.

Arent webextensions better in general? I thought thats why firefox is moving towards that direction.

How is the cpu usage when loading these sites in vivaldi? My only problem with it.
In opera he is not with high cpu usage when loading page

R I G G E D

If you haven't tried it in a while: The most recent update on aurora vastly improved the initial start-up time, especially if you've got a few addons running.
It really surprised me, right now I couldn't tell the difference between Chrome and FF anymore in regards to how long the first load takes.

can't even watch netflix on FF any more

sad!

Firefox's XUL addons are more powerful but because of their direct dependence firefox's code they're more prone to breaking between versions.

Come on man you didn't even try with those tabs

>can't even watch netflix on FF any more
apparently you can't use google either

>opening bazillion cards at once
>proper benchmark of browser performance
Pick one.

Wait until they land Stylo (Expected sometime 2017)

Stylo is the part of Servo that handles CSS, it's designed to scale up in a nearly linear way with the number of cores or threads you have. So a 4 cores system it might bring a ~4x increase over gecko's styling system.

Obviously it depends on how pages are laid out but on some pages the difference should be pretty dramatic.

*DING* another 2 cents has been deposited in your account, Aneeta-Tjorwalk Rosenberg!

>also outdated

All upstream security changes are backported to it. How is it outdated?

just like debian, yes: outdated.

I've never had any problems with it. All security updates are backported, and its engine, Goanna, is a fork to provide better performance. I don't see the problem.

what is so special/different about chromiun compared to just google chrome? I see you guys praising around here a lot and i don't understand what is so different about it

logo.

>falling for the SJWzilla meme

firefox is slow, but it has sidebars for bookmarks and history and lets me turn off the pointless session recovery feature that bogs down my poor shitputer with 1gb of writes an hour

worth rendering facebook and jewtube slower desu

>implying i use those sites anyways

>40+ Instagram
Weirdo

>Botnet Browser vs Firefox
Thanks but no thanks

Me too on a garbage pc, still no freeze. 4chanx can kill at catalog tho.

Werks fine for me, and I have 4chanX and OneeChan so that makes Sup Forums quite heavy compared to stock

Secret?

AppchanX literally kills firefox on my laptop, it's ridiculous how much bloat that script involves

I notice a lot of people complaining about pocket and messenger.
If you remove them from the bar (interface customization) Mozilla has confirmed they don't load
other then that I have session restores disabled and my ipc count is set to 4 (defaults to 1)
e10s is also enabled because I am using Aurora (Developer edition)

I don't know if it makes a difference but I don't use my distro packaged version of firefox either
I use the Mozilla packaged one.

if anything I have made firefox slower then stock with all the shit I have installed.

*chanX is heavy for sure, but I can't stand browsing without it now.

Sorry user but i have more important things to do than jerk off on 40 instagram attention whores at once.

Whats Sup Forums's favourite build time options?

Mine is either --enable-default-toolkit=cairo-gtk2 or --disable-pulseaudio

I tried different folders in my bookmarks and it seems that Vivaldi lingers at maximum CPU usage a bit longer(2-3 sec) than Opera but drops down faster.
Maybe there have been some improvements to Vivaldi.

Mass deleting them using CTRL+W seemed to use the same amount.

>performance is secondary
Spoken like a true nu-male SJWzilla cuck

This thing is fucking magic

You forgot Cyberfox

Who else here still has faith in Mozilla?

>not using chrome

>using botnet willingly

I'm looking forward to webextensions, sandboxing, PPAPI, a rewritten interface in HTML, and the group of projects under Quantum

post your foxes. I'll start.
>GNU Icecat w/o default addons
>uMatrix
>uBlock Origin
>Leechblock so I can only use Sup Forums for two hours
>4chanX
>Greasemonkey w/ Extra Flags

and just like magic, it can destroy you and yoru data

What's the point of umatrix when ublock origin can do everything it can?

>interface written HTML
Like Vivaldi? Pls no

Firefox related question:
Is it better to spoof the source (network.http.referer.spoofSource = true),
or rather don't send referer at all (network.http.sendRefererHeader = 0) ?

Also, is there a onee-chan / 4chanx setting to not remember my nickname? -_-

Mozilla shills get assblasted whenever anyone mentions Pale Moon and can never come up with any reasonable argument why it is bad. Just ignore them.

The interface is currently written in XUL which is a special snowflake markup language that does the same thing as HTML. The idea of having it written in HTML is that they'll be able to remove redundant code and the work they've done on the rendering code for HTML will go toward the interface as well.

But so is the Vivaldi UI and it's crazy slow

The way Vivaldi does something is irrelevant to other pieces of software. They might just be doing some really stupid shit with the interface code for all we know.

The current interface is already written in a markup language like HTML, it's just trading one for another. I can't see there being any difference in performance. At least not by the time it lands in stable. If you've been paying attention to the browser.html project and Servo the interface is actually quite responsive.

pale meme a shit because im not a fucking furry or furry sympathizer. Mozilla sucks too.
Sea Monkey mustard rice.

I would but that's a lot to type out. GNU IceCat 38.8.0 reasonably customized. FT Deep Dark + Beyond Australis.

...

raw.githubusercontent.com/phallus/user-styles/master/styles-clean/userChrome.css

Firefox has started to fuck up a shit ton in the last year for me. Slow as a glacier and videos stutter regularly while working perfectly fine on other browsers.

Are there any rice for other browsers? I want to switch.

You can customize Vivaldi a fair bit.
People here on Sup Forums complain that the UI is slow but it seems fine on my computer, during some testing it was similar to Opera.

Try it out yourself and see if you like it.

Personally I'm holding on to Firefox because I think it's only going to get better from here. We've been through the worst.

its shit

>FruityFaggot Gay /FFG/

>"We are getting faster with every version!"
>We will be like chrome is now

Love memefox defenders

It's gone from
>no it's not
to
>the tests are wrong
to
>who cares

Really says a lot about the state of memefox

Chrome doesn't fully load the page, it sais it loaded the page but waits for you to open it would load the full page.
Also how many addons does FF has vs chrome?

mozilla abandoned all other projects like the OS +thunderbird to focus on ff and it's still CRAP!
Can you believe how bad these people are when the head of their organization can't even get a proper haircut?!

I can't wait for the inevitable articles on (tech) sites like Wired, Gizmodo, Verge etc. declaring anyone not liking memefox racist, transphobic misogynists

Do you have the background slideshow thing going ? Try turning off the "change colors with background".

>failfox
>not chromium

I'm using ublock origin and 4chanX in Chromium on RaspberryPi 3 and can brows Sup Forums reasonably fine.

>tfw forced to use lagfox because I care about privacy and shit

ungoogled-chromium

Your browser is shit. I have a 100% cpu load while watching a twitch stream in firefox and enabling hardware acceleration only makes it worse so the computer completely freezes. What a joke of a browser.

I can't decide between Watermeme and Palememe
please make my choices for me

suicide

that comes later but first i have to choose between those two

Not Mozilla's fault your pc is from 2003

Yeah default FF is a fucking joke, it only uses 1 process to render tabs, try your test again with

dom.ipc.processCount set to 4

On my end it's at least equal to Chrome

palememe is fast new beta is git gud

I really don't see where people are coming from with slow browsing. I use FF on both of my machines, and it's quite fast. Maybe the slowness has something to do with your PCs?
