Reddit is a fucking mess. Dissenting opinions get downvoted to oblivion and subreddits that are politically sensitive can be compromised by buying out the mods. Sup Forums is better but threads can still be slid by astroturfers. If you want proof of this, look at r/gadgets. It's literally adspace, every fucking post is promoting tech you can buy.
Is it physically possible to make something uncompromisable and shill free?
that requires human moderation which can be compromised
also nice quads
Benjamin Evans
its called Sup Forums
Jackson Perry
Basically you have to keep the community small and un-influential enough that it flies under the radar, and shills, astroturfers, marketers, and the like don't find it worth their while.
Ryder Powell
There are no shills here you dumb turbosperg Sup Forums literally doesn't matter
David Morales
You can't, simple as that. That's like asking how to get rid of diseases in nature. There will always be disease in some form. All you can do is keep the ecosystem (the Internet as a whole) open and flowing enough for new, clean forums to pop up to replace the old and infected ones.
Benjamin Wood
No you can't.
Gabriel Allen
you can't you can only make people smart enough to not fall for the lie. This is why it has to be anonymous, so people can't rely on appeal to expert authority of brand power etc. when understanding/analyzing/following something/comment/etc. this automatically filters out the shit. the people who are read in will contribute to the actual threads and the turbo plebs will keep to themselves. best part is you can make money off all of them.
William Ramirez
>There are no shills t. shill
>All you can do is keep the ecosystem Down the ecosystem and revert computer network back to amateur thing. Oh wait, that's what Fidonet was.
Chase Barnes
nice try nigger
Alexander Bennett
you would need to make it immune to infiltration from corporate entities, the only places I know that are like that are usually places that deal with illegal stuff (private trackers and forums associated) that corporations don't want to touch and are harder to get into due to member requirements
Austin Evans
>Is it physically possible to make something uncompromisable and shill free? Running a server costs money. What do you think companies are most wiling to pay for? a) a place where they get praise and advertisement b) a place where they get bashed to bits c) a place where they get no publicity
If you want a place with no ads you got to pay up and buy those moronic Sup Forums passes. It is fun to watch here how people laugh and curse at Sup Forums passes while complaining about ads at the same time.
Eli Mitchell
Hiro, log in please.
Connor Adams
Make it so people can't post. It might not be very social or much of a forum but at least there won't be any shills.
Blake Jackson
Use alternative forums, very small in size but with a relatively active userbase.
The corporates won't bother shilling to a place with 0 influence on their business.
Wyatt Long
>he uses sites that people have actually heard of. Obscurity is the only solution
Colton Myers
It's impossible. That's just the nature of open forums.
Henry Campbell
ban faggots permanently and immediatley when they start to shill
Hunter Murphy
install gentoo
Benjamin Williams
How do you make a social forum immune to people who literally believe people with different opinions and people who post things to upset, confuse or manipulate others for personal enjoyment don't exist?
Christopher Harris
>Dissenting opinions get downvoted to oblivion 1) Avoid gamification or any incentive to point-whore 2) Enforce scoped anonymity. Remember how Sup Forums used to have IDs per poster per thread? That's good. >ubreddits that are politically sensitive can be compromised by buying out the mods. Make it unmoderated. Don't allow multimedia uploads to avoid being liable of illegal content. Give your users the tools to filter out possibly spammy users/strings.
The way you phrased your post is quite irritating. Please work on your writing skills.

THIS
the solution to all our problems is to aggressively purge normies
Levi Rodriguez
This. If you all bought an iPhone there'd be no reason to shill anything. There must be no choice when it comes to tech, we should all buy apple products. What are you gonna do, rice your phone all day? Everything made by Apple just works and at least it doesn't explode.
Andrew White
>Is it physically possible to make something uncompromisable and shill free?
Yes. Prevent people from using it.
Wyatt Peterson
The solution is not a "no product advertising" place, it's more about the balance of power.
For example Sup Forums, you have shillign like mad, but for every shill there's a lot of anti-shills out there.
As soon as someone feels he needs to post a "can we all agree xyz is superior?" thread, there's already a big group of people feeling triggered and will gratefully tell you, that xyz is complete shit.
t.b.h. I actually enjoy some battles, i.e. the whole "AMD vs NVIDIA" guys make a lot of funny OC. even though I coudn't care less about hardware. Personally I use Linux, Windows and sometimes even Applel, but I also like a good OS bashing every now and then.
Connor Garcia
Sup Forums is good and bad at the same time. Good because all opinions and posts are evaluated equally and cannot be hidden (short of using scripts) and bad because the quality of discussion is very diluted. You have to browse a long time before you come across decent topics and discussions.
Either way it always turns into an echo chamber.
Sup Forums users should have respected rules 1 and 2, even if you consider it edgy or whatever it is these kinds of ingroup rules that keep a community together.
