Computer in sleep mode

>computer in sleep mode
>randomly turns back on

Don't mind it, it's just windows waking up your PC so it can send back the latest batch of telemetry to the NSA and microsoft while you sleep

I thought it was because some dust mite on your desk somehow managed to move your mouse and wake up the computer. Or your cat nudges your desk leg. Something like that.

It might be a scheduled interrupt, or wake on lan

>Some device woke up your pc
>Some peripheral changed the S state
>Wake up on LAN
>netBIOS somehow got triggered
>Some bug or a sudden voltage drop caused it
baka senpai

...

>after waking you up
>it goes back to sleep 20-30minutes later

>MFW every time I put it in sleep mode theres a random chance it will crash

Ever since I've first fucked around with custom PCs over a decade ago, I could never get the fucking things to sleep properly.

It always woke up at random times. ALWAYS.

What is really the fucking deal here?

There's a hair on your mouse sensor.

> computer is sleep
> Ethernet is blinking

I had this issue.
It was wake on LAN.

Control Panel/Network & Sharing Center
Click Local Area Connection under Connect or Disconnect
Properties
Configure
Power Management

Disable any kind of Wake on LAN bullshit you see. I also recommend turning off Energy Efficient Ethernet because that shit was giving me constant disconnects.

happens every time i put it to sleep.
fucking fans don't kick in and it overheats my cpu

Mine do this sometimes. Dude is sleeping thight, not even the fans are running, and the in the middle of night bam. Shit is suspicious

Keep your USB devices (except your keyboard) from waking your computer from Device Manager. Some devices and controllers are just retarded.

>computer wakes from sleep mode and immediately freezes up

Windows Update will do that when it is trying to get you to reboot your computer to install updates.

Fucking pisses me off. When I need the light it'll have just gone into sleep.

exactly this but its the computer that is connected to the tv and home theater shit and i hit sleep while a video is playing

wakes up in the middle of the night with porn playing at top volume

fucking windows man i dont want your gay fucking updates

why cant yall hibernate godamit ?

As soon as this thread loads up my soda bottle fell over

>hangs self

Deactivate wake on lan

one, a hibernation file eats a lot of space if you have an SSD
two, idk about them, but if I use hibernation, bout one out of every ten to twenty times I wake the PC it'll lose it's shit and forget my monitor configuration. This is annoying.

anyway I can usually get it to stay asleep by manually disabling waking the computer by the mouse, network, and anything at all that isn't the keyboard. google powercfg wake_armed.

I had this but it was constant, turns out my Displayport cable was shit and sending voltage to the GPU and its common in cheap DP cables.

Tfw my Win 10 pc always turns itself on after shutting down turned all the "wake on..." options off in the bios and thats happening since I have Win 10 about a year war do
