Freshly installed Windows 7

>freshly installed Windows 7
>600 MB RAM while idle
>freshly installed Windows 10
>1.3 GB

Repeat after me: BLOATED

go fuck yourself

this isnt news to anyone

> freshly installed gentoo
> 35MB RAM while idle
Repeat after me: FREEDOM

Also that screen shot isn't even win 7 and when I freshly installed win 7 it was 1.2

>freshly install Gentoo
>no programs
Repeat after me: FREEDOM

Because you have the FREEDOM to install whatever you want

But not anything you want

>600MB to display a desktop
yeah that's bloated all right

So... What you're saying is that Windows 7 is wasting more RAM while Windows 10 is more efficient at using it?

I've installed win7 numerous times on different computers and I have never seen it idle at less than 1GB after a fresh install.

You have the FREEDOM to make everything you need yourself. *

* actually that is your only option

>UNUSED RAM WASTED RAM
Repeat after me: WASTED

RAM meant to be used. 1.3 GB is not that much.

MB RAM while idle
XP would like to have a word with you.

10 is rubbish, nothing new.

But windows 7 uses 1.1GB and windows 10 uses 1.3GB.
I've got 7 on my laptop and 10 on my desktop.

I also have 32bit w8 on my netbook which uses 600MB, which is what you might have accidentally installed.

Why don't you just load 16 gigabytes of random data into your RAM, then?

ITT: people who are too poor to own >2gb ram.

well to be fair, "free memory" is wasted memory.

if anything, this proves how shit windows 7 is.

Windows 10 is likely using near 100% of your memory as well.

>windows 95
>21 floppy disks
>100mb install size

BLOATED

depends on how much total ram you have

but yes, win10 uses more ram. the ram requirements went up with anniversary update.
