Scientific Evidence of God, by an atheist
Scientific Evidence of God, by an atheist
This is the stupidest shit I've ever half read, are you fifteen?
>quantum computers exist
no, at least not the kind that can make actual AI possible
>humans do 10^15 flops
this is so fucking stupid I don't even want to try to begin
>people will have today's super computers' power
no
>we will be able to simulate a universe
in which universe is it possible to simulate a universe as complex as the one you're in? this is fucking impossible and probably a form of perpetual motion
>god = life creator
what
is this the correct definition?
The problem with the simulation theory is that the second we can simulate our own universe is the second they turn us right the fuck off, because that would recursively consume more and more computing power.
>hypothesis
>scientific evidence
That's literally not how science works.
even as pure logic, it only says "maybe"
Omnipotence can't exist for a very simple reason: you can't draw a round square. Simple logic.
What's the point of God if he's not omnipotent/omniscient?
He's just regular life form then.
As an atheist I somewhat agree with this and think it's highly probably.
The god I don't believe in is the god of most religions.
The god I do believe exists (note: not believe in) is the guy maintaining our simulation.
Of course, he/it most likely doesn't give a shit about humans, there's plenty of other alien races out there that they might be looking at, there's a good chance that we haven't even been noticed yet since we only have a tiny sphere of influence in the universe and haven't even achieved interstellar travel yet.
You're not atheist then. You're a deist.
One word
Entropy
Can God create a stone he can't lift?
Checkmate, Christfags
I would like to agree with you, but for these kind of things you have to be a bit more openminded.
What if the being works outside of logic?
i have scientific evidence god exists!
because he might exist!
Maybe so but not quite.
I just believe that whatever created our universe is not a god, but some other entity.
But I guess I am somewhat a deist in the sense that I think that whatever did create this universe has not even noticed us (assuming it has the ability to notice things).
Why do people even try to coprehend it when humans are simply not capable of doing so?
You opened my mind a little but I still think searching for god is waste of time.
>he fell for the Kurzweil meme
Most definitions of God we see today are infalsible, therefore intrinsically unscientific and we have no purpose trying to prove them.
Reality simulated by reality is interesting, whats more interesting is that even if we think this is true, its impossible to draw any single conclusions about the "host" reality, including in particular: is that reality simulated as well. Also, even though a simulation sounds more "scientific" than a God-man, it is equally infalsible.
>The human brain operates at roughly 10^15 FLOPS
Fucking bullshit.
Then why can't I perform 10^15 calculations in my head in a single second?
>WARNING: Some statistics/words occur in UPPER CASE FORM or various /colours/, because reading all lower case/uniform colour is quite *tiresome*.
Literally autism
>ITT: CS fags literally dont know anything about science, especially not what "scientific evidence" is
assuming the absence of logic to be a reality, renders all of logic to be meaningless
This dude already fucked up. Atheist means you explicitly believe god does not exist. That is the definition of athiest. It doesn't mean you don't have a religious opinion, that's agnosticism, the belief that you can not have knowledge beyond the empirical world.
This fucker doesn't even know his religious terminology.
There's nothing "probabilistic" nor "scientific" in that picture.
> Hurr this and that implies god might exist, under my unfounded assumptions and definitions
> science!
So basically: The Matrix
Not exactly a new or groundbreaking idea there buddy.
Sup Forums as fuck ITT..
B-but you are. At 30-80hz there are approximately 100,000,000,000 neurons firing, factor in the variable neurotransmitters and synaptic connections and you have a ridiculously apt computing machine. Unfortunately the software and the wetworks are shit, so there's that.
Welp that's it we can close down /r/atheism now
I'll take the bait.
Omnipotent means can do anything. Under anything is the possibility spetrum, as in, all that can exist. A square is defined as being a polygon with 4 sides. That means it must have no curves and thus a square cannot be a circle and is thus not part of the possibility spectrum.
This bait takes like /csg/.
*teleports behind you*
No, but your mother can and will continue to take those birth control pills to make sure she doesn't have another one of you.
Still notice the OMNI part. Omni means everything. EVERY thing that does and does not exist. For example God could create an unicorn. Possibility spectrum does not count here, although it's plausible explaination I guess.
Kek redneck get back in your cuckshed
So one of the running themes in a number of religions is omnipotence. I've thought pretty extensively on it and came to the conclusion that to be omnipotent you must also be everything. This is where I concluded that the universe and all of the laws governing it must be "god". And really if you look at it non-conventionally it makes sense. The universe has a set of observable laws which apply to everything, laws which dictate all behavior with our own included. The universe created itself, and with it genesis. Science isn't chasing atheism, but the one true god - and the closer we've come to him the more civil and advanced we've gotten. And the observable world couldn't be a false god, as it is the only god. Think on it.
