I want that keyboard so bad it hurts.

>not ortholinear

Into the trash it goes.

Can we get a guide on how to build keyboards?

good night /mkg/

>buy keyboard parts
>put switches on PCB
>solder the Switches
>put PCB in case

Its not that hard user and there are plenty of videos teaching you how to solder

1) Learn how to solder.
2) ????
3) Profit!

So this is basically it?
youtube.com/watch?v=H1ZRVpvUUUY
>inb4 didn't watch whole video but says yes

good morning

t. earlybird eurofag

>not browsing Sup Forums from Trumpland

It's 5 am here I'll see you niggas tomorrow.
Good night

I came here legally!

soldering everything is the hardest part.

What makes it the hardest part?

everything else is just legos user

Not but how do you get the awesome parts in the OP's picture? I want exactly that board. It would fit my theme perfectly. I've never seen a board with leds in the case like that, and the blue sheet ontop of the case looks amazing too.

god i love that thing so much

Not this guy but for this guy and me ()
deskthority.net/workshop-f7/brownfox-step-by-step-t6050.html

nice trips. Just buy a keyboard kit like pic related, which is a RS 68

originativeco.com/products/red-scarf?variant=21535033797

I am interested in custom keyboards for their layout.
If I want a generic small keyboard I always have my HHKB JP with its mislabeled keycaps.

that keyboard in the OP is just a modified Leopold

Been lurking a while and I've decided on getting a filco ninja majestouch-2 tkl

However I'm still undecided between red or brown switches. Are browns detrimental when gaming?

is it cheaper to build my own or buy an already built one?

I have a Topre but don't have an issue with the tactile bump.
If you're trying to double or triple tap linear *might* be better but imo it's unimportant.
I have a brown switch next to me and it's kind of gritty but when gaming I wouldn't notice it.
Probably more expensive to build one
amazon.com/AmazonBasics-KU-0833-Wired-Keyboard/dp/B005EOWBHC
Now, Sup Forums, teach me how to build one.

buying a prebuilt one is much cheaper

amazon.com/TOMOKO-Mechanical-Keyboard-Water-Resistant-Anti-ghosting/dp/B01DBJTZU2

>originativeco.com/products/red-scarf?variant=21535033797
Ordering one. This is going to be my third $100+ keyboard. What the fuck am I doing

Losing control of your life.

>**Keycaps not included
What will the keycaps be?

>Now, Sup Forums, teach me how to build one.
you can buy keyboard kits and assemble the thing your self like pic related.

If you want however you can buy the parts individually like a gh60 PCB and plate, then use whatever cherry style switches you want and build a custom case for the whole thing.

Or you can build an HHKB with alps switches instead:
imgur.com/a/Y0foU

Haven't decided. I want white caps with blue print and blue modifiers.

Where do you buy the parts for that linked keyboard?
I like that layout.
>Or you can build an HHKB with alps switches instead
I like the soft bottoming out of my HHKB that can't be matched with o-rings.

threadly reminder that the best keyboard ever made uses rubber dome.

that keyboard is a Duck Lightsaver v2

why does that keyboard have so little keys

why does that keyboard have so little keys
Any place to buy the kit apart from groupbuys?

they literally have the same number of keys. you can't tell just by looking at them? I feel sorry for small-minders.
>no on-board macro/remapping abilities
smdh nigga

Pretty much every custom keyboard is sold in group buys. Some drop more often then others, but if you want to keep track then bookmark massdrop and geekhack's list of ongoing group buys

>they literally have the same number of keys. you can't tell just by looking at them? I feel sorry for small-minders.
It actually has one more key and that was the joke

both have 124 keys. you can't tell just by looking at them? I feel sorry for you.

>alps switches
Disgusting.

no it has 125 keys
geocities.jp/kenjin_keyboard/3479JA1.htm

shit wrong link
web.archive.org/web/20070813180056/http://www.hi-ho.ne.jp/vine/keyboard/3479ja4.htm

use your small-mindey multiplication table tricks and count, since you can't tell in under a second from simple observation that you're looking at a 124 key keyboard.

t. pleb

>Pretty much every custom keyboard is sold in group buys.
Didn't know that as I haven't been looking to buy a new board for a few years.
I'll look at Massdrop but I should get a geekhack account.
I really don't like logging into forums :(

I messed up the joke. The ANSI one has 125 keys
I really need to rename these images

you don't need to login just bookmark this page and click on the group buy that interests you and fill out the google forum , or go to the special website they made

Thoughts?
mechanicalkeyboards.com/filco/kobo.php
also good night /mkg/

Trying to decide between a Poker 3 or Tada68, any suggestions?

If only for the dedicated arrow keys, get the tada.

>massdrop.com/buy/xmit-hall-effect-mechanical-keyboard

Fucking magnets

Whoa that's an interesting keyboard

I've got a infinity keyboard.

I'm kind of use to hhkb arrows setup, plus I've got special arrow key layer on right shft, alt, win, crtl, if I'm feeling lazy.

I feel like getting another board that has dedicated arrow keys like the rs68/whitefox/tada. I also already have a phantom tkl as well so it's absolutely unnecessary.

call me a nigger and make me feel ashamed of my vapid materialism.

>Hall effect keyboards that aren't Honeywell/Space Cadet/Symbolics/etc
Slap a Symbiosis set and you're ready to go retro

What a week.

I would probably buy this but my research so far has not provided a very conclusive answer as to whether or not it can be easily made to work with modern PCs.

ebay.com/itm/MEMOREX-TELEX-COMPUTER-PRODUCTS-211295-001-COMPUTER-KEYBOARD-H916-/381568311159?hash=item58d73e5f77:g:BIQAAOSwT5tWPU6O

how much worse can that keyboard get

Well, it says it has been tested in the listing...I don't know how I missed that. But I don't know what their testing entails, and whether or not it is mechanical.

>not liking American flag reflections on each key
What's wrong with black? Also I've got granite Tai Hao Doubleshot PBTs comine bruh.

>granite Tai Hao Doubleshot PBTs
ughgbh

>filco board
>stock keyset
>not filco hipro

get out

it's too bad they didn't go with full sculpted

lollllllllllllllll go sell some more shit son

These are Tai Hoe doubleshots. Stock caps would had proper modifier legends.

Those look like shite.

what?

tai-hao are turboshit

>These are Tai Hoe doubleshots. Stock caps would had proper modifier legends.

Actually they are a custom set from SP made for Filco.

All R3 though I believe.

except the top two rows

Once you wake up user, mind telling me what keyboard and where'd you get your keycaps? Also nice DOOM album man.

>costar stabilizers
Not sure why you fanboy that.

I was referring to my caps, which you were commenting on. Not your caps, which I was commenting on.

Who mentioned stabilizers?
Also
>who gives a crap about stabilizers?

Possibly because they're not scratchy and don't bind up like cherry stabs.

They brake ridiculously easy.

They don't even have brakes, silly goose.

My keyboard doesn't have any brakes. Was that an option I forgot to request?

It has never broken either, despite heavy daily use. I don't have six keyboards like some folks, this one gets all my use. So if they break (I assume that's what you meant) easily, I would assume mine would have. But nothing on it ever has. So I must conclude that you're full of shit.

I have some legit cherry ones on my Compact SQ, they have been an absolute clusterfuck.

The spacebar is what I've broken on 3 different costar stabilizer keyboards. For games where you spam the spacebar they can't handle it.

>use filco majestouch for years
>its great and all
>spill an entire coke into it
>take it apart and clean it meticulously
>be using logitech k120 in the mean time
>never bother to go back to the filco

shit hurts my hands like toblerone in retrospect

You must rage pretty hard, I play FPSs A LOT, every day, many hours, and I've never broken it.

Maybe take it easy on the Mountain Dew?

I don't rage on my my keyboards. Costar stabilizers just can't handle gaming use. I don't own a Razer keyboard but they have issues with them that you can look up. I remember them popping up in my searches for what was causing the issue awhile back.

The cherry stabilizers have been good for me. Been using them for years.

What breaks on them, exactly?

The plastic bit on the key that holds the bar.

Never had one of those break no matter how much I mash the spacebar in any game.

I'd probably still use them if they did break after a while. They'd be trivial to replace and they're that much nicer to use than Cherry stabilizers.

What is the loudest switch? There's no point owning a mech unless everyone knows I do

IBM beamspring with solenoid enabled.

youtube.com/watch?v=hK2cnxXauls

Bucking springs.

Hey guys, i have been looking for a mkb for a while now.

There is some guy selling a CM quickfire rapid for 50€ near me, is this worth it? Or will I regret being cheap and end up buying a more expensive one in the near future?

bumpo

Why are those keyboards making me genuinely angry?

You might be on the spectrum, buddy.

It's a Noppoo choc mini and the keycaps are from ukkeycaps
Thanks.

Meant to tag you

you will end up buying multiple expensive ones dont worry

Where can I sell my poker 2? Mx blue and no backlight. I'm in europe btw.
I want to buy a tada so bad

Put it up for sale on deskthority or something.

Anybody have experience with GON keyboards? gonskeyboardworks.com/
My search for an aluminum cased number pad has led me to them, seems pricey.

>leds everywhere
Looks pretty ricer.

Yeah I'm not into that LED junk, they're optional and configurable at least.

>GON keyboards
If you like getting scammed out of your money, then go for it.

geekhack org/index.php?board=148.0

Everything is a scam.

>geekhack org/index.php?topic=79769.msg2271253#msg2271253

not a waste, CM keyboards are generally considered high quality. if you are looking for a normal good quality mkg you should go for it.

if you want to pimp it, there is a group buy going on for a custom aluminium case right now. shop.norbauer.com/products/custom-cnc-aluminum-case-for-coolermaster-novatouch-rapid-i-and-masterkeys-keyboards

>Bought Planck with Maitas switches
>Now if only I could find a nice labeled ALPS keyset to replace the blanks

It seems like imsto showed back up at least. Would still be a little paranoid regardless.

Not to mention ivan running off with the money for the round of PBT caps.
