Since this is a Firefox thread I might as well ask here.
I'm currently using my very outdated old PC and I keep having issues with Firefox that I don't get with my newer machine. I tend to have very long browsing sessions where I open a bunch of tabs and just leave them be when I put the PC to sleep until I resume browsing later. I might have the same session going for days and might eventually end up with a couple hundred tabs. Things worked fine like this for maybe 4 years or so until a few months ago when every now and then once the number of tabs got to like >200 I would start to see glitches where part of the page goes black until I scroll down or hover the mouse cursor over the black spots. Thumbnails still work but full images often refuse to load and opening a .webm or something causes weird visual glitches.
Some possibilities I've considered is that the 4GB of RAM this thing has isn't enough to properly run Firefox anymore, but seeing how it's been fine for years and Firefox really doesn't use all that much memory I doubt this is the case. Having a very prolonged session and a lot of tabs open don't cause any issues with my newer PC so I doubt those alone are at fault either. Another possibility would be that this thing having only about 10GB of HDD space left could cause issues but I'm not knowledge enough about computers to understand how that would affect things. I'm contemplating just deleting a bunch of stuff and seeing if that makes any difference but I'd like to get some feedback first. Also keep in mind that these things only started happening around August, so it could just have something to do with the newer versions of Firefox.
