Some Altec Lansing ones

b&w 686 s2
klipsch rb75

Adam S4A's

Not appropriate for all situations though, so considering some JBL LSR 305's + a sub for casual listenings

I dont
but I am kinda curious about them

why would you deliberately make a housing that's too small for the driver?

design

>look we are different

Vintage mini bookshelf communistic Tesla fullrange speakers. Hooked up to homemade PCL86 tube amp. Sounds fantastic, found them for 20 usd

it looks retarded though
that pic looks even more retarded

Genelec M040s mostly. Are we just going to share purchases and post pictures again?

What happens if you rub over the foam with your finger?

this to be sincere

...

Sup Forums fucking lied to me. HS8s are amazing, I did end up getting the woofer though,

...

hi /speaker/, I need a good pair of powered speakers for around ~600 USD or less for the pair, considering all of

airmotiv 6s
vanatoo T1
used like new yamaha HS8
or going cheaper and getting the LSR305s + a good sub

are there any other good options that should be considered at that price range? Thanks, leaning more towards the airmotivs but the convenience of the vanatoo is tempting and that 8" yamaha woofer must be nice. Mostly going to be nearfield.

What speaker?

I heard a lot of people say that HS8 don't need a sub. I'm still torb between HS7 and HS8. HS8 are €259 here.

it probably falls apart

Speakers are CA-3550 while the subwoofer is the sub woofer from a CA-3000 not bad little setup great sound quality decent bass

they are excellent

I'm currently running KEF LS50 paired with Marantz Amp1 and Kimber Kable 4PR Cables and couldn't be happier

i have some new speakers in the mall though which will be my first major comparison to the KEF's at home. it's Dynaudio Emit M20's which are very highly rated at the moment with a lower pricetag.. i'm probably the first one to make a comparison between the two

you miss out on all the potential this speaker has by placing it so close to a wall :'(

LSR305 + Scarlet 2i2 meme.
As a non-audiophile it's my final form.

don't get a sub if you don't plan to spend over 400€ on it.

speakers from above the chamber size of atleast 30cm in a cubicle, don't need a subwoofer at all because they most can produce subbass themselves, WHEN placed correctly with enough air to breath.

a sub is only beneficial to either extend the subbass to its deepest potential because that's what a hi-fi sub is mostly used for, to complement your speakers, not overpower them. or create a movie theater like earthquake

you don't need a subwoofer with this speakers?
What happens with music with heavy bass like techno , hip hop or others??¿

Really can't understand that , why people have studio monitors for listen music without sub. Anyone can ELI5 please?

I need a set of 2.0 speakers.
Last time I had some back in 2000s.
It's been 16 years - are there any good budget speakers without wires and xboxhueg power adapter?

can someone can explain how you can spend $350/per or $700 total for powered speakers?

I mean, for $700, you can buy a decent set of used speakers plus an amp, and get much more low range and better response and efficiency

>speakers $250
kijiji.ca/v-speakers/thunder-bay/paradigm-9se-mkiii-tower-speakers/1216618318?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

>receiver $150
kijiji.ca/v-stereo-systems-home-theatre/city-of-toronto/yamaha-r-s300-receiver-with-manual-perfect-condition/1212031309?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

in Canada, a single HS8 is $400

Sup Forums, what do you think of these ones for my new cheap build?

canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=41_534&item_id=080150

but old speakers look outdated and not hip like kef ls50's

but towers look fukken sicc

yeah, and overkill for small basements and dorms

who cares about the fact that they are powered?

my point was that there's better price:perf out there

there's a ton of used bookshelves with probably similar size and response as the HF8s for probably 1/4th the price

I can understand paying $700 for room-filling speakers, but $700 bookshelves, especially powered, seems silly

>internal amp breaks, speakers are garbage
>woofer cone breaks, speakers are garbage
plus, less things you can do with powered speakers

yeah but who uses speakers in a dorm anyways

Infinity Reference Ones with a small SMSL-50 Desktop Amp

Soffit mount or freestanding?

The 2-way coax models aren't that good or interesting. Actually, 2-way coax is extremely hard to do well, many conflicting requirements that need to be piled together.

>speakers from above the chamber size of atleast 30cm in a cubicle
Truism doesn't quite agree with high efficiency woofers/low efficiency subs.

That can be turned around: you can buy used speakers of all types.
Or DIY and save more money, at the expense of time.
>breaks
Fix it.
>less things you can do with powered speakers
The only thing you'd really want to do is use is an active crossover or have the ability to apply external crossover filters.

Some options:
> they are broke after buying the monitors for another 2 subs
> these people prefer a linear frequency thing and subwoofers are too hard to tune
> for listening with an adequate volume down to 55hz, monitors do fine
> hip hop techno niggzorz use logitech equipment and bass rolls any day

Logitech X-530

Maybe because it's enough and they can't afford it. Monitor subwoofers are very overpriced and expensive, monitors who can

Eagle Arion 70w system. Cost me $50 at Microcenter. Plays well with no crackles and the bass is nice.

My headphones are all Skullcandy as well. So these should give you an inkling as to my audio-phile status. Or lack there of.

>shitty meme speakers
>just plain shitty

who are you to say that

a freedom warrior :^)

can anyone recommend these behringer monitors?

These powered by a 1972 Kenwood KA-2002A. I need to build another sub really bad, headphone bass doesn't cut it after hearing and feeling sub 20hz from a real sub.

A shitposting retard, obviously.

Currently using these Infinity RS6000. Gotta say they're the best speakers I've owned so far, not that its saying much. For the $100 I paid though they're bredddy gud.

Driving them with a 1980s Yamaha A-1000 integrated and using a Sony SEQ-555ES for eq'ing movies and shit.

I use these whole setup is over 10000 people on Sup Forums don't know the importance of amps

>All that money on amps.
>Everything else in the room is total shit.
>Including the room.
>Absolutely no attention to acoustic treatment.
>Streaming lossy Spotify.

Wow I can't decide if I hate retarded faggots like you or poorfags more.

well the whole room isn't pictured everything else isn't total shit and acoustic treatment is only nessesery in small cramped spaces I just go with spotify because its easy and you do realise what lossy means you retard

>poorfag detected

Oh really? Because everything in the frame is definitely shit. In-wall A/C that's 40+ years old, a desk that was picked up for free off the curb somewhere, peripherals that look like they came with a $200 compaq PC 10 years ago, missing blind slats, poverty tier outdoor furniture with trash everywhere, carpet that hasn't been cleaned in a decade, and a dirty microfiber couch or chair or something.

And I guarantee your space is cramped and needs acoustic treatment looking at the way your desk is smashed against the wall.

Your priorities are fucked and your life is a miserable disaster. Get out.

Yiffs

>Everything else in the room is total shit

Not him but Focal's are god tier speakers

its not cramped and im renting half of those things are out of my control not spending thousands to upgrade someone elses house but stay mad poor fag listening to music in low fidelity

and whats wrong with he peripherals if I like them and they work no need to upgrade

I wasn't talking about the amps or speakers.

Seriously look at that crack den he lives in, am I the only one that can see it?

Rent a better place then you idiot. Your place looks like a chinese hovel.

>Implying I'm listening in low fidelity.

So you literally can't defend yourself and instead are going to revert to ad hominems.

>Seriously look at that crack den he lives in, am I the only one that can see it?
I can't lie, I'm agree for this one

its 50 per week and im in Australia cant get anyware for cheaper also it has NBN so 100 down

>50 abo shillings a week.
>Weekly

Damn, no wonder it looks so poverty tier. It is. Are you poor for real user or just used to living that way?

We pay low to average rent for my mediocre house in the US and it's $1200/month. I make lower class wages and live with 2 others.

shit for brains detected

na not poor for real just like the cheapness and it helps with saving money also the house has a pool and it comes in handy for summer

and I love the NBN its so fast not many houses in Australia have it

I rarely if ever use speakers, I'm more of a headphones guy.

Currently wearing away at this cheapo:
>amazon.com/Universal-Stereo-Gaming-Headset-TM-YB100A8211/dp/B001FY7LBQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1479450195&sr=1-1

When I do need a speaker, I use this with a line cable:
>aliexpress.com/item/MYHAKU-BT-809-mIni-wireless-bluetooth-speaker-for-Samsung-Laptop-Car-067-28/1043767628.html
It's not too bad, really, plus it was given to me for free so I can't complain.

absolute meme
