>Hackers have twice completely compromised Microsoft Edge operating on Windows 10 Red Stone 1 and for the first time twice broken VMWare Workstation without user interaction.
The four hacks were demonstrated at the PwnFest 2016 event held at the Power of Community security conference in Seoul on Thursday, with details to be provided to vendors and kept under wraps
A team at Beijing vulnerability firm Qihoo 360 successfully popped Edge on Windows 10, as did highly talented South Korean hacker Lokihardt, the latter's exploit being successful after only 18 seconds.
>Microsoft is YET to fix one of the exploits demonstrated by the Korean/Chinese hackers

When Microsoft releases its newest software, their not shipping their best. They're not shipping their most secured. They're shipping their worst with a lot of bugs and they're bringing more security holes. They're shipping zero-days. They're shipping security holes. They're awful. And some of them, I assume, are intentional.
Andrew King
Why would microsoft intentionally make their products look bad?
Jack Bennett
I wouldn't have thought that something like this could be possible with Windows!
Grayson Phillips
No one cares about that. Breaking out of VMWare is the interesting part.
Ryan Hill
They realized they are dying soon anyway
Embedded device market didn't work, phones didn't work, tablets didn't work and neither did servers.
So they started targeting the dumb mactard crowd with surfacebooks and the new windows PCs
Adrian Thompson
Why would they care if they did?
Is your granny going to go and install gentoo?
Tyler Sanders
>dying soon You don't seem to understand. As long as a need for Windows software is present then Windows will always be needed.
>Examples of such software? MUH GAYMES MUH AFFORDABLE PHOTO EDITING MUH AUTOCAD
Gavin White
Microsoft is just going on inertia at this point.
Logan James
>MUH GAYMES PS4 >MUH AFFORDABLE PHOTO EDITING Already cloud based >MUH AUTOCAD Cloud based lol Get with the times, grandpa
Tyler Morris
doesn't work on my machine :^) stay poor, freetard
Easton Evans
>micro cuckold in denial sweet cuck tears hehe
Dylan Wilson
>implying anyone uses Edge/IE
Brayden Collins
Hold on just a minute, didn't recent numbers reveal only 10% of people on windows use edge?
Bentley Long
That's 5 times more than total amount of Linux users on desktop
Alexander Moore
All computer illiterates use windows and IE/Edge
Jaxson Mitchell
How can i be poor when im spending so little on software?
Dominic Howard
>As long as a need for Windows software is present then Windows will always be needed. More accurately it is the marketplace's reluctance to migrate to other platforms. Windows isn't "needed" any more than Budweiser is "needed."
You're basically saying that "as long as a need for [X] exists, then [Specific Brand] will always be needed." That is a bizarre line of reasoning. Some company or provider will eventually come to fill that niche, but a specific company? No specific company is needed. Windows dominates the market because of aggressive and borderline legal monopolistic practices, unimpeded by lazy market practice regulators and complacent consumers who dislike change.
Everyone knows this. Nobody "needs" Windows. If Windows was needed, then the mobile OS market wouldn't look like pic related. Believe it or not, no one piece of software is platform-dependent.
>b-but muh gaymen doesn't do mobile yes it does you tard, and it's a major part of the gaming market >b-but muh photo editing doesn't do mobile yes it does you tard, and it's used both professionally and by amateurs >ha! but muh autocad doesn't do mo- google is your friend
Cameron Bell
>Having Edge installed
My Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB N does not have this problem.
Grayson Long
IE is even more exploit ridden
Jace Peterson
>That pic
Totally epic bro

A hacker is someone who enjoys playful cleverness—not necessarily with computers. The programmers in the old MIT free software community of the 60s and 70s referred to themselves as hackers. Around 1980, journalists who discovered the hacker community mistakenly took the term to mean “security breaker.”
Please don't spread this mistake. People who break security are “crackers.”
Wyatt Stewart
this.
Alexander Roberts
>"intentionally"
Microsoft was ALWAYS shit. It's not intentional. It's their cheap corporate culture. They've never cared about anything but $$$, all the way back to Gates himself.
Linus cares about Linux. Woz cared about the Apple II. Jobs cared about Macintosh, NeXT, and all of the Apple products released when he came back.
Gates never gave two shits about anything. The engineers under him didn't give two shits. And now the company is PooInLoo through and through. And they'll give you plenty of shit.
Oliver Phillips
IT'S OVER
LINUX WON MICROSOFT FINISHED AND BANKRUPT WINSHILLS BLOWN THE FUCK OUT POOINLOO TELLA ON SUICIDE WATCH HOW WILL THEY EVER RECOVER OH WAIT.. THEY CAN'T
Asher Fisher
My great-grandma runs Mint and has no complaints. If she can do it, anyone can.

>7 hours later and nobody else recognizes the joke
Hunter Evans
>AUTOCAD >Cloud based wat
Camden Wilson
or the people who recognized the quote didn't feel the need to congratulate themselves on an austrian spoon carving forum.
Isaiah Cooper
It was a bretty good joke. I'm not sure why you wouldn't give him a complimentary (you) for it if you recognized it.
Bentley Murphy
Again, like with any other exploit be it with Android or iOS, you have to be a retard to get hacked. I've still yet to see these attacks in action, they're all demonstrations with open computers.
Noah Cooper
>i never knew I was hacked so it hasn't happened to me >I don't know anyone who has been hacked, so you have to be retarded to have it happen
Lincoln Peterson
So you have proof of hacks of someone who has been cautious? Still haven't seen proof of any hacks of Android, especially when Sup Forums claims it's full of vulnerabilities.
Grayson Watson
There's no amount of caution that will protect you when the underlying program has vulnerabilities. Caution might protect you from nickelback.mp3.exe, but it's not going to stop someone from using any of the thousands of vulnerabilities in products.
Dylan Gomez
Do you consider Google saving all your call logs, web history, texts, photos, and contacts, being hacked?
Technically every Android phone is being hacked every time it is used
Nicholas Stewart
Apple does the same thing now, for some (((unknown))) reason. All your call logs are sent to icloud, even if you have icloud backup disabled. Oops.
