> AMD's best performing offerings (8 core, 16 thread chips) would be competitive with Intel's $1089 i7-6900K, an equally 8 core, 16 thread offering

BTFO

>$300 for an 8-core ZEN
Man I'm really afraid to believe this. This fucker is supposed to trade blows with the $1,100 i7-5960X

> Comparing top end CPU's that do nothing but MOAR CORES

> AMD taking 6 years to compete with Intel's 6 year old shit

> Intel having no reason to compete, yet.

BTFO

Right, like how faildozer was supposed to be the next big thing ?

lmao.

working early there, pajeet?

>Right, like how faildozer was supposed to be the next big thing ?
>lmao.
Except this time we know it's not going to suck.

wccftech.com/amd-zen-cpu-performance-double-fx-8350/

>AMD needs 8 cores to compete with a 6 core Intel

So the 4 core version is barely gonna be worth a dual core i3

so in other words AMD went ahead and gave us another MOAR CORES bulldozer flop

>double the fx8350

so...barely as good as an i5?

>AMD still wont have a processor with IPC that can match a 3570k

bad times

>faildozer was supposed to be the next big thing ?
internet-connected space heaters back when everyone was foaming at the mouth over internet appliances?

Who cares? Buy a used Xeon from ebay for half the price.

Are you mentally brain damaged? The FX-8350 was on par with i5s in multi-core performance. An 8-core zen would not only shit on an i5 but trade blows with 8-core (physical) i7s.

In terms of single-core performance, zen will be pretty much the same as a skylake i5.

>buy used shit from fake-reviews-r-us
>xeon blows up, setting my house on fire a few weeks later
welp

Screenshotting this post for when AMDrones get BTFO for overhyping Another Massive Dissappointment

You really love memes don't you?

Guys, let's be real, if all these rumors turns out to be real Intel's on suicide watch, and i don't think they would let that happen...

>if all these rumors turns out to be real
>if all these rumors
>if... rumors
*cough*

Nigger you better update your shit and replace all intel trash with superior AMD products if ZEN delivers.

>ZEN
>superior
>AMD
>surpassing Intel

buy now!

>Single Thread Rating: 1774
How the fuck is Athlon so based?

>if ZEN delivers
>if
I look forward to the day when AMD's CPUs bring back the glorious days of Athlon. After Bulldozer though, I am not going to be placing any bets.

we all know it doesn't matter, as long as it brings you shekels you are going to shill the shit out of it on your site, so shut the fuck up

16 Sandy bridge cores?
Yeah cause 8 c2d cores worked so well for them last time...

>17 intel shekel points have been added to your account

What can they be used for?

700 intel shekel point can buy a hat of a AMD logo over a house fire. (shipping and handling not included)
400,000 intel shekel point can buy a 12 pack of Monster Energy drink and a pair of beats headphones

How much for an actual processor?

The cheapest 8 core better be around 300 euro. If not why get a 6 core Zen with definetelly worse single core performance when you could get a Core i5 7600K?

Good job Kabir, let them think we have infiltrated them.

There is a secret page in the intel shekel point market place for Youtubers, Review sites, and Benchmark sites. This secret market place is where the processors are given away for pennies on the shekel.

you may wish to bet on this.

By buying AMD stocks?

I hope you pulled through on this one, Jimmy boy. Otherwise, We're going be stuck with stagnant prices until the end of days.

AMD stocks are trading very high these days

not at the moment, wait for the stocks to level back out at ~7.50, but after that if you don't buy and hold until january then you are literally a fool

Why do they keep parroting this?
You know the implications of it being so cheap? It means it's irredeemable shit, the most likely option, or we're getting the savior we have waited for over 5 years.
I was thinking they were going to price it much higher given that they were competing with Intel's E line. $300 8 core competing with $400+ 6 cores? I would lose my shit and get two. There's just no way.

I would have been hyped for Zen if AMD had not dropped support for coreboot

Im more interested in a 4 core 8 thread for 150$

>mfw Zen is shaking up Intel this much to the point where shills are losing their minds
Thank you based Keller.

They're doing exactly what they did with the 480 earlier this year: pricing a smaller, competitive chip lower than a more expensive and larger, but only slightly higher performing chip.

Not even amd is claiming to match skylake ipc

because skylake-e isn't out yet, you retard. they're comparing zen to broadwell-e.

they claimed haswell at lower clock, now it's 3.50
and we well know how good skymeme is kay going to be +3%

I can't wait for the launch when it turns out to be another turd.

AMD shills are the most reliable source of entertainment in the world.

Is screaming "FIRE" the only thing AMD shills can ever think of?

is rampant shilling the only thing Intel shills can ever think of?

If zen is 200% of 8350 then it will kill i7-6900k. Even if it is only 150% it will kill i7-6800k.

If xeons go up in flames, then all amd cpus are hotter than the centre of the sun.

It will be a failure just like Turdozer

I would have bought more AMD stocks back when they were $2.

...if I knew how to buy stocks.

I came here because I am researching AMD, about to put 1k in when the bears come in on monday.

Things to note with AMD right now:

Most of its current sales are due to consoles with their chips built in.
The PS4 saw a massive 204% sales increase in the last week due to the PS4 Pro.
AMD just got a deal with Google for cloud base computing
December is the month stocks usually perform hella good.

You can download the app called RobinHood for your phone.

All you do is link your bank account or drop a deposit into the app and then you literally just search for a stock and decide how much you wanna buy. Its free commission the app is free.

Wow it's fucking nothing. It's probably no better than an overclocked 8350.

t. guy who wasn't even alive during the k8 era

AMD was better for most years from the 90s to the mid 2000s (except for the main pentium 3 years) if I'm understanding correctly

Bantz aside, Zen is a new architecture.

Realistically speaking, should be about sandy-bridge tier.

>not available in my country
>Macedonia

every time i have used an amd cpu, it was unbearably slow when i compared it to experiences i've had on intel cpus

will this be worth getting? is this actually going to match the performance of the average i5?
will the iGPUs on the amd zen chips be decent enough to run without discrete graphics too? (i don't game)

missed the train.jpg

AMD products are good for the price but always have some debiliating problem

For example their GPUs might perform on par or better than Nvidia in some cases but are overheating pieces of shit with unstable drivers

Zen's probably going to have super shitty IPC and clockspeeds just to fit that 95w tdp, making it another Bulldozer only on a lesser scale

32 CORES 64 THREADS

AYYMD IS FINISHED & BANKRUPT

>Macedonia
>a real country

The late-era Athlon/AXP/A64 days were really the only period that held true (still a decent 5-6 years however)

K5s were so late to market and slower than shit that they were barely competitive even in the low end

K6s were quite good for home and business users but they were never the "best" from a pure performance perspective with their gutless FPUs and slow-ass board mounted cache

The first-generation slotted Athlons were a marketing stunt, hitting those unreal clocks at the sacrifice of cache speed culminating in that dreadful 1/3 speed cache on the 1 GHz models, Intel's own 1 GHz chip they announced shortly after absolutely destroyed them with their full speed on-die cache alone. Too bad Intel's production problems were so bad that for most places those chips were all on-paper releases anyway.

Starting with the Thunderbird generation though, they really were great chips for consumer systems, especially while Intel was eating shit with Willamette. The Duron beat the shit out of the god awful Celeron all day long too.

K6-2 was viable for work systems, original K6 wasn't. K6-3 was too little too late with P2 being so overclockable, cheap, and exciting.

Original Athlons and Coppermine were far more comparable than that up to about 1 GHz, with Athlon often still edging Coppermine. It wasn't until Tualatin that Intel could catch Thunderbird and pull ahead, but by then they were pushing P4 and killed Tualatin prematurely at 1.4 GHz.

Athlon XP outperformed Pentium 4 clearly and consistently for years, but by the time of the T-bred and Barton XPs, Northwood could compete just from clock speed alone.

A64 re-established AMD's dominance until Conroe in 2006, at which point Intel gained the lead. Nehalem established the wide technology gap that exists to this day, and Zen is expected to be the first true response, 8 years later. This is an exciting time just because the sweetspot is finally going to get cheaper for everyone.

you've clearly never owned an AMD gpu.
