Hello.

...

It's only $50 to upgrade to a worthwhile converted 771 Xeon. There's no reason to be running a 775 nowadays.

What CPU cooling are you using?

Yeah, I just bought a x5460 a while ago. Should be coming in next week or so

Noctua NH-U14S.

Gets toasty even during winter.

>NH-U14s
Mah nigga. What fans are you using? I have the stock 150mm + a 120mm from an NHU-12S as a pull fan.

...

Just the one that came with it. I've thought about buying a second many times, but the temperatures are so good already that I've never bothered. It even tamed a Phenom II X6 1090t overclocked and overvolted to 1.425V without breaking a sweat, so a modern Intel chip is nothing I guess.

Never actually tried it with just the single fan, was usiong an NH-U12S with two gentle typhoons on it, but I sold the 12S, pocketed one of the fans for the 14S, and put the gentle typhoons on the front case intake. Temp difference is with the case fans on low as opposed to high like in my previous image.

Gonna upgrade my PC this year.

I know a new gen of CPUs is coming out in a few months, but I'd rather use it as an opportunity to maybe get a sale on this CPU in my wish-list.

It all comes in at $970 which is perfect, as I don't wanna go over 1k. I upgraded the graphics card in 2013, and the PSU to 600w earlier in the year.

Any improvements, if any to keep the budget would be appreciated.

Should be like $1020 - well worth it.

>$50 dollar more expensive gayman shit
>without even giving a reason

...

...

That's fucking stupid.

If anything he should cough up an extra $115 for a far superior GPU.

Might actually try this out. Thanks for that m8.

Booted up laptop for first time in a while to charge the battery. It does the job nicely for simple web browsing/watching movies etc.

You might as well invest in an entirely new rig at that price.

I have no need for a gaming desktop yet i want one anyways.

That doesn't make any sense.
