So if my phone is having ghost touch its the digitalizer? Phone is a lenovo k3 note ghosting started after it dropped it a few times. Is it easy to change it my myself?
Grayson Scott
Yes, and yes.

Watched some videos and pajeet is using a heat gun to take the digitalizer off. Is that shit really glued or something?
Connor Thomas
They're all glued on these days, but a hairdryer should be fine too.
Ethan Moore
If you judge a phone based on shills, that would be xiaomi. They suddenly invaded this board and started flooding csg and spg with rmn3p recommendations to everyone.
Jackson Miller
But user I'm bald and there are no hairdryers at home

Will the Moto X Force (DROID Turbo 2 for americans) last me a while, even though it was released about a year ago? The alternative I've boiled down to is Xperia X Compact, which was just released the other month. It's smaller, which I like, and obviously newer. But it's at least $130 more.
Is it worth getting the newer phone (1 year difference)? Will it last longer?
Jaxon Moore
Yep. There's planned update to Nougat so don't let go of it yet. It's not worth it to get a new phone if your current device is still useable i.e. it still gets Android updates straight from the manufacturer.
Nathaniel Gutierrez
I mean I don't have a phone at all and I'm looking to get one of the above mentioned. But your point remains, of course. Thanks for the input. I knew The Moto got upgraded to 6.0, but not that it would get upgraded to 7.0 now too. That's pretty neat.
Carson Parker
Front camera, battery life and actual dual SIM (not dual SIM or SD+single SIM).
A good front camera is something most phones are missing, many have a great back camera but a shitty front one. Sadly most reviews seem to only mention the back camera. I videocall a lot and use the front camera more than the back one.
Display no longer matters to me, they are all good enough. I'm not saying it's not very important, just that they are all "good enough".
This is obvious. No SD slot no deal.
Don't care about "design" at all. If the headphone jack is at the top and the USB port is at the bottom then that's enough design for me.
Case works like a stand too, and it protects the screen when it't in your pocket. Why wouldn't you use one?
Lucas Brown
Reminder the Zuk shill keeps using "NOUGAT IS COMING" to shill even though he's on Sup Forums and the majority of us are on custom roms which have it already. Dumb Zuk fuck.
Mason Moore
Not sure about feature, maybe longevity but no [smart]phone has that nowadays. I will however not consider any phone less than: >3 GB RAM, 32GB ROM >SD card slot >pretty much it
I don't know much about CPUs but I'm sure there are some that are important to avoid there as well.
Jordan Foster
>forced to use custom roms because his phone maker refuses to update his device
That's just sad user. You should have bought a zuk instead of the piece of shit you're using now.
Easton Adams
Battery life and Longetivity/Support
Jayden Collins
Yeah Lenovo is pretty good with updates. Their zuk z1 is even getting nougat even though it's running an outdated SD801 SoC.
Good support is important and nice to see.
Brayden Rodriguez
No it's fucking not
Unless it some how said fuck you to Google and is releasing it without gapps
No krait era soc is getting it due to some retarded Qualcomm driver Vulcan mess
I used the oven with just heating from above. Worked to fix a Nexus 4
Asher Jenkins
Longevity, or lack of it, combined with technical progress is why I use sub-$200 phones. Even if a phone lasted 5 years... would you still use it after 3? or 4?
3GB RAM and 32 GB storage is the current standard for $120-ish chink phones. If it's 2GB/16GB then it's old and got an older SOC. Can you mention any brand flagship $500-700 phone that's 3 years old that's 3GB/32GB? Or any 3 year old phone that's worth using today?
Christian Rivera
I don't know much about the phone market, but I can honestly say that if my Glaaxy s4 mini wasn't completely dead, I wouldn't be looking at a new phone. In other words yes, I would still use a phone for 5 years as long as it was functioning (and by functioning I mean literally anything more than a paperweight).
Isaiah Brooks
Hello /spg/, I've been restless in looking for a phone with: >nice battery life >decent custom ROMs support >mobile bands compatible with T-Mobile in Poland >around $200 price tag
Devices considered so far: >Nexus 5X >Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro
The Nexus has a laughable battery compared to Note 3 Pro and lacks microSD support while having some of the best community and manufacturer support out there + a nicer chassis. USB-C on the Nexus is still rather a con since the support for it is almost negligible with the ShillBar-equipped Applel Memebook Pro having to force the connector's exclusive use upon it's (l)users.
I'd really appreciate some other options
Jacob Reed
This. Only reason I upgraded from a nexus 5 to a zuk z2 pro was my nexus was starting to drop call signal randomly and nothing I did would fix that.
Otherwise I would have at least kept it for 4 years.
The real source behind the Zuk shilling shitposts is a /csg/ shitposter and CP permaban evader also known as Lithu, a Lithuanian with an autistic aversion to popular and well liked products.
With /csg/ he tried to get people to stop buying MIXZA Shark Micro SD's by pretending a single picture of a shark card being pulled out before its finished bench was proof that all sharks were shit, he hates Discord with a passion and to prove his autistic point he would hang out in it for months and post out of context screenshots of chats, he still tries to shitpost against BM800s and now he's gone anti-Xiaomi and constantly shills Zuk phones.
You can easily trace back his shitposts through the Sup Forums archive because he's dumb enough to keep using the same couple of shitposting pics he has.

I have a Redmi 4 Prime and I love this thing.

How is the HTC 10?
I have read it head poor Wifi signal stability/strength, also the camera is shit with many users, blurry and not sharp.

I can't find much info about it. Care to do a little review?
It's that or a Nextbit Robin for me. I know the Robin has worse specs, but the developer support and relative openness is a positive for me.
Isaiah Brown
Moto G4 Plus or Sony Xperia M5?
James Jones
Dude he's not the only on shilling ZUK. It's currently just the best price/value ratio you can get.
Aaron Parker
So my next major purchase is going to be between a new phone or an AK. I'm currently using a Moto G3 with a cracked screen on AT&T, so is there something worthwhile that will pull me away from the gun?
Chase Gomez
you could probably defend yourself better with an explody verizon note 7

Requesting purchasing advice
>What I have Moto G 2013 16GB
It's still.. okay-ish. I do my daily things with it, nothing too much. Own it since December 2013.
>What do I do with my phone - Email - Spotify (lot of offline playlists) - Browse - Standard apps such as cinema, T mobile, etc. No games
>What I look for in a new phone - Decently affordable (price/quality is more important, imo) - Between 4.5 and 5 inch, preferably - At least 32GB of storage - Durable: I need it to last at least 2-3 years
Now I was looking at the >iPhone SE 64GB / iPhone 6S 64GB >Sony Xperia X Compact And also, in order if I just say 'fuck it': >OnePlus 3T
Wat do? Do I wait until Mobile World Congress announces new midrange SoC's or do I just bite the dust now and get a decent phone that will last me for a long time? I'd not necesarilly want the OP3T since it's so huge, but the price/quality balance is really huge.
Thomas Rogers
Additionally: - Good updates - At least 3GB of Ram (can make different for iOS)
Wyatt Johnson
I'm with the same desires as you, cheap

HELP!!2!
My Sony Xperia Z1 died. I need a replacement battery that isn't going to explode or die after a week. Someone please link a reliable store / product Thanks
Jordan Ramirez
The G4 has a better camera than those and it has most likely the best camera at that price point But yes it might brick itself
Joshua Butler
They have a 100e cashback action now.

>be on t-mobile 2gb simple choice plan >decide to up it to 6gb >2gb is the only option avaliable now, only other option is to buy this shit tier one plan for $70
wooooow
what carrier do i switch to now, boys?
John Howard
please shill me on the pros and cons of your midrange phone providing it has the following
>decent, responsive experience >32gb or more space or SD card expandability (preferably the latter) >close to stock android, or if not what the benefits of your bloat are
I'm not interested in ricing and am fully invested in the google botnet for work calendars etc. but I go on long work trips and need a lot of space for music and podcasts. a decent camera would be nice but it's not a deal breaker. I'm not interested in flagships having owned them for years and realising you get little extra these days for the extra £300
Mason Phillips
I was given an iPhone 5 as a hand-me-down one Christmas and after spending so long on Apple phones, I want change.
Looking for >Decent screen >Decent RAM >SD slot >Longevity in the battery >Price of about 200 yuropoors max
Mainly use my phone for the following >Calls/Text/Email >A metric fuck ton of music >Browsing >Occasional game during a commute
A bit vague, but does anyone care to point me in the right direction?
Ethan Butler
RN3P users, what roms are you using? Is xiaomi.eu rom good compared to global rom? What about CM? I heard it has problems with camera.
James James
Keep the phone, there's nothing worth the price, save for the BLACKBERRY PRIV.
Which AK are you planning on getting? I recommend the the RAS47. It's actually pretty great.

> do it properly or youll brick it How would I go about doing it correctly, and how would I fuck it up?

Moto Z Play.

What's the cheapest rootable phone that I can put a ROM on that has an SD card slot?
Evan Gomez
literally no chance of getting a OP3T before christmas now right?
I'm torn if I should go for it or naw. My xperia zr is quite old by now. I'm not sure if I will be able to adapt to the size of the phone tho.
Jacob Stewart
Why would i use ZUI instead of CM14 anyway.
Luis White
When is the optimal time to buy a new samsung phone and which of s6 and s7 is the best buy. I have a S2 so looking to upgrade
Isaiah Sanders
Moto G4 or RN3P, the xiaomi has ir blaster, more ram, faster cpu, capacitive buttons and doesnt overheat, the motorola actually doesnt have any advantage over it sans being officialy sold everywhere and being prettier i guess
Lucas Wood
it's like 10 days for delivery stop fucking posting this every day
Now, get either the S7 or the S7E depending on your budget, make sure they are the exynos versions as they are more efficient with battery, are more powerful than the snapdragon ones and have more community support, i wouldnt wait for the S8 since these gooks are taking the applel route by removing earphone jack, on top of it lacking the big ass button all samsung phones have, no bezels and maybe not also having an sd slot.
What the S7E has over the S7 is being bigger, having that curved screen and a bigger battery (3000 vs 3600 mAh), it doesnt justify the 200 dollars difference, at least in my opinion.
Ayden Edwards
my first post about it but thanks for the info bred
Mason Cook
Unlock bootloader, install custom recovery, go to recovery, do the required wipes (app and data, data, cache, dalvik cache), choose install from sd card, select the custom rom, let it install, hit reboot (since you dont want gapps), let it start properly it will take about 10 minutes or so but if it takes more than half an hour you should take out the battery and try again, after it reaches the homescreen wait another 10 minutes and then reboot, now you can finally install all your apps on it, f-droid for starters, since you didnt flash gapps you wont be able to use maps or youtube but there are foss alternatives so its okay, this is all you have to do unless the thread specifies you have to wipe something else, not wipe something or backing up your imei/fm radio
Fucking up would be dirty flashing or installing a rom not meant for your device, in this case its just a softbrick which means youll have to find the original rom for your device, drivers for your device, taking out the battery and sim, flash it through odin and unlock bootloader and root to try flashing a custom rom again
Andrew Price
you relate that's the latest possible date right? I bought mine on the first, and it arrived yesterday
Blake Peterson
Will it be a good enough phone for the next 3 years? I'm not the kind of guy that buys a new phone every fucking year. And 400 euros is still quite much imo. It has to be worth it.
Anyone here got the htc 10 and can say some stuff about it?
