Why do millennials hate ads so much? I never hear anyone complain about ads 10 years ago. Back then people just went to get a snack between ad breaks and didn't make a fuss, why all the hoo-ha now?

Because 10 years ago ads weren't as total shit as they are now.

In my experience it's the opposite, they don't mind them. I often offer my friends to install an adblocker on their browser, they never want to.

Why do boomers love ads so much? I bet they would enjoy pic related, think it's fun.

because they have to pay for so much more: broadband at home, cell data, paywalled news sites, streaming music, game subscriptions. and then you're still getting bombarded with ads. no wonder.

cont... also netflix.

buying cds, books, and magazines 15 years ago was not a big deal, but at least you could utilize them without ads everywhere.

Non-video advertising was more scarce back in the good old days of the internet. Now that companies have mastered the art of profiting from web traffic and user data, it's more intrusive then ever, to the levels of TV and radio.

People find that annoying. Not just millennials, any internet savvy person.

cont...

when all you know is itunes, youtube, etc... regardless of the "not everything can be/is free" when you bought a cd or dvd you didn't have ads and tracking built into the experience.

This, normies don't care about adblock

:/ is this patent real?

You never heard anyone complain about ads ten years ago because you're an idiot, and everyone you knew then was an idiot. In ten years, you've found yourself among more people who value their own time and are more careful about what they expose their brains to.

I don't know what magazines you were buying, but most magazines 15 years ago were mostly ads. It's only gotten worse.

>Forgot to install adblocker on a new OS
The first website i visited i almost had a heart attack, multiple videos with full sound started blasting through the speakers multiple flashing banners on borders of the page so i couldnt read anything and then finally a pop-up that grayed out the screen untill i interacted with it.
This wasnt a thing 10 years ago

Fuck off, millenial. Return to Reddit.

They are simply spoiled as fuck. They have access to millions of websites and media for free and yet they still feel entitled to block ads and reject the creators the meager income they can get. It's mindboggling.

this is the reason why I've been adblock user since 10 years ago probably

Unless this site was a sketchy porn site or torrent site, you're exaggerating a lot. Almost no respectable sites use popups or ads with sound these days, certainly not multiple ads at once.
