Is there a reason for someone who isn't a computer enthusiast to use linux?

Yes.

I use Solus on my laptop because it just werks, it werks better than windows, and my laptop has shit specs.

Huge overall performance gain for web browsing and general use.

if you work on elevator software you need linux

Because it always crashes, am I right? ZING!

im not really an enthusiast, can't write code, and don't play games. i tried out a few ubuntu distros because i got bored one day, liked xubuntu and installed it, and haven't bothered with windows since. been running fine and i learned some stuff

The joke here is that elevators rarely crash due to many fail-safes built into them

This.

Pretty much Mac for shitty laptops

no, not unless someone made you a specialty distro

What do you mean "Mac for shitty laptops"???

Haha, what an epic and original joke, my redditor friend.

Same.

Using Xubuntu with a Win2000 theme.

To escape the botnet. Be careful though not to jump off the NT10 frying pan into the systemd fire.

Oh, kevin please.

No.
Now fuck off.

What's wrong with systemd?

well linux is a rip of unix. unix is macOS. I mean hell linux was made on Macs

so linux is essentially Mac for shitty laptops/poorfags

No, macos is a rip off of freebsd.

do you really want to get humiliated again, vidya manchildren?

No, macos is a rip off of mach.

You want your computer to be nonfunctional

Best use for non-enthusiasts is to revivle old machines. I made some decent money in college taking old laptops and installing some minor hardware upgrads/linux distro and selling them for 100-300 bucks.

no, its the direct descendant of the OG UNIX.

notice the dotted lines for linux indicating its ripoff, peasant, poorfag status.
