Most distributions support UEFI out of the box nowadays; if you're installing over Windows, chances are that it's not set up by default and you need to enable it in the BIOS.

It's a good minimal install OS for if you want to buiild your own OS from the ground up. Other options are Ubuntu minimal, debian minimal, gentoo and slackware. If you don't understand why you'd want to customize everything then don't bother.

Mostly the differences between Zypper and Apt. (I've pretty much used *buntus exclusively.) That, and the steps one needs to take to get the various codecs set up that you'd find in ubuntu but not openSUSE. MP3, etc.
I've had an easy time of test running openSUSE in a virtual machine, but I haven't gotten the extra codecs to work for some reason. The instructions outlined in that guide are easy enough to follow, but the page makes it clear it's working on Leap, which is why I'm wondering if me using Tumbleweed had something to do with it. Or maybe it's just something with the VM itself.

How to change DE/WM on PCLinuxOS? There doesn't seem to be a dedicated tool to do that. Apparently if you install another DE/WM's packages then it will then be loaded with X, but what if you want to switch to the other one without uninstalling anything? Slackware has xwmconfig to accomplish exactly that, does PCLinuxOS have anything similar?
