Firefox or Chrome? Opera.

Opera is the best browser.
You realize opera is just reskinned chrome, right?
it is based on chromium but it also has lots of features that chrome doesn't. Too many features to list. if I wasn't paranoid about the way it sends info to china I would say it's the best browser
And?
Vivaldi
With a built-in adblock.
Chrome = Google = ads. Depending on chrome will put you at risk of being cucked by ads in the future.
i tried vivaldi recently, some gripes
>screen flicker if you don't use "native window" in my DE. chromium/chrome's special window works fine
>apparently screen flicker can be fixed by disabling gpu vsync by launching it in terminal with extra commands. not worth at all, don't want custom launcher don't want to fuck with it my default browser will be 1 click on panel
promising browser nonetheless. I know it's made by the og Opera devs. It is just another reskinned chrome.
one more gripe
>100,000 fucking bookmarks I didn't make
still rooting for them though
Opera is a great browser and China is a great country.
opera has built in vpn right?
hmm, but will it still protect my boipucci from abuse?
its also umlimited unlike other vpns i think
The good real VPNs are unlimited. with proper configuration it will hide your IP from sites but you would have to trust a chinese owned company running a closed source browser, which I dont.
>just reskinned chrome
Its not though. Lots of backend feature changes and enhancements.
ye sure but no vpn will let me download 29516805 tb of tranny pr0n and of in the case teh gubbernmit knocks on the door of vpn service of my choice they will give my ip away before i can spell "ip" , which , unfortunately is somewhat of an issue i would like to avoid
Not for free, because good VPNs cost money. But what makes you think opera wont comply with authorities?
>China is a great country.
China is an authoritarian one-party state with very limited regard for their own citizens' rights. They execute their citizens more than any other country in the world, so much that they have dedicated mobile death vans purposed for executions.
i use Opera to watch twitch because i couldn't figure out how to block their ads in firefox or chromium (probably bc flash player won't work in either one of those browsers for me and I'm not going out of my way to fix flash nawmean)
The chinese thing might be FUD but it worked on me, I use Firefox in firejail for everything else
hmye even when i would pay for an vpn the company would still give my private info to government in case they ask, which takes the 'private' away from vpn
How do you know? and try not using a shit VPN.
>How do you know?
which vpn service wouldnt? they risk getting their ass whooped for not cooperating with government agencies
to be fair, Opera's VPN isn't even enabled by default. It's available if you want it, but since it's free and everything, I wouldn't expect it to compete with a paid VPN service
>1000000% better that firefox
>Opera is the best !!!!
> I wouldn't expect it to compete with a paid VPN service
its completely free without data limits and you can choose between the exit node i think, explain how you 'dont expect it to compete with paid vpn service'
The ones that arent based in the 14 eyes and dont log. Do some research.
>dont log
heh, but you dont actually believe that they ' dont log' right? lets imagine you download some illegal shit, do you really believe the vpn provider of your choice wont just point at you instead of taking the iron rod of justice in their anus?
learn what a real VPN is
helpnetsecurity.com
also operas "VPN" has logs, is located in the 14 eyes, and has a very limited amount of servers in different countries.
yes because there have been court cases that prove it
i mean I don't expect a full fledged VPN for free. Look, I don't use a VPN at all, I have no reason to. The only reason I could think of would be to play online poker (i'm in USA) on a legit money site like Pokerstars, and Opera's VPN only works for browsing the web in Opera
I'm not shitting on it, I just think it's weird how people are hating on the Opera VPN considering it's optional and free
>learn what a real VPN is
i am aware of the fact that there is a difference between proxys and vpn, thanks for stating the obvious
>also operas "VPN" has logs
big surprise, question is still which 'vpn' service has not (tip : just because the provider claims to 'not log' doesnt mean that they actually dont log)
> and has a very limited amount of servers in different countries
dont use it myself, last i heard about it there was one in usa / canada / germany
I dont hate on the vpn, I hate on the chinese owned company with a proprietary browser.
however, services that actually dont log dont stay for long as they get quickly btfod by law enforcement (nobody would be dumb enouthg top take the blame for somebody using their service, downloading tons of cp for example)
>big surprise, question is still which 'vpn' service has not (tip : just because the provider claims to 'not log' doesnt mean that they actually dont log)
see >dont use it myself, last i heard about it there was one in usa / canada / germany
yea that is very limited
How do you not understand that there are vpns based in countries that arent in the 14 eyes? As long as you dont do anything illegal in their country they dont give a fuck.
see
also notice that refusing to give out info/ pretending that there is none doesnt meant that such companies 'dont log'
>i am aware of the fact that there is a difference between proxys and vpn, thanks for stating the obvious
You asked how it couldnt compete with a paid VPN service, seems like you didnt know the difference.
>How do you not understand that there are vpns based in countries that arent in the 14 eyes
im aware, however if they use any infrastructure of those, be it psyical(servs located there for example) or virtual(routines/tools provided by those) it does not matter that the provider is sitting in banana republic xy
>As long as you dont do anything illegal in their country they dont give a fuck
sure, but why should they give a fuck about somebody on the other side of the planet which pays them 10 bucks a month and not just give away your info in case somebody of the 'big guys' ask for it?
my bad for not beeing specific enougth
>sure, but why should they give a fuck about somebody on the other side of the planet which pays them 10 bucks a month and not just give away your info in case somebody of the 'big guys' ask for it?
because they dont have to comply
>because they dont have to comply
they would be retarded not to comply, especially if a third party suggests that you might have done something 'illegal', also what makes you think that all those who refuse to comply arent under special surveillance for doing so
only a naive person would trust some shady vpn provider from a third world who claims to ' not log' your stuff
I use a VPN not located in the 14 eyes and claims they dont log for privacy. I dont do anything illegal that would warrant them to request my real IP from the VPN provider. I trust them way more than I trust Opera, plus I get a better service.
>You realize opera is just better chrome, right?
Yes. Yes I do.
It's better than being a reskinned Firefox desu senpai.
Opera was a great browser. Then it got gutted and turned into Chrome without bookmarks.
>and turned into Chrome without bookmarks.
>without bookmarks
???
When they ditched Opera 12 and released the first version of the "new" Opera, it didn't have bookmarks.
That's not even mentioning how the Opera devs flat-out LIED to the users telling them that the features they loved in Opera would be restored.
Even today the "new" Opera is a pile of shit compared to Opera 12. Vivaldi has made more progress in becoming a successor to Opera 12 than the new Opera has, and it's been under development for a much shorter amount of time.
