I have recently bought this. What can I use it for?

I wanted to use it for a flash drive to my router but it does not work apparently.

Maybe there is some firmware I can use on the stick to make it work?

Plug it in one of these and you have a USB to USB

is that seriously just using the wires in a usb cable as twisted pairs?

yea

one of these and you can hide your porn usb key in the garden

Put a wifi dongle on it

If your house has Ethernet cables trough walls, there is a possibility you could use those cables as a USB cord. Since USB and RG-45 use the same cables, you could solder them together(or buy this thing). If you have two of these, plug them on two sides of your wall Ethernet cable and then just use it as a USB extension cord trough walls. But the chance that you have those sort of cables in your walls, and that they just happen not to be connected to anything and go directly to each other is very very slim.

If it was an RJ11, maybe you can plug it to your phone box and power a USB accessory, like a LED lamp or fan.
I'm sure it will interrupt / break things but you are curious, right?

I think I still have one of these from the cable company when DSL first came to my shit hometown. It was useless in 14 years ago, too.

The plug the USB Male into the USB Female, and get a perfect loop
