Applel TimeMachine

Reminder that TimeMachine over network is a fucking joke

Not an apllefag. What is it and why is it trash?

49 minutes to back up 80 mb

>Applels build in backup solution
>look at the backup duration
>look at actual file size to be backed up

Lol wut no way is it wireless or wired? Something wrong with your network/router?

OP here
> Wireless
> SMB File Transfer speeds of 50-60 MB/s

Sounds like your just not very good with computers OP

Reminder that Apple is a fucking joke

How often do you actually merge folders?

>j-j-j-just don't use it that way!!!
>t. mactoddler

Not often enough, so that when you do, you forget that macos is steaming pile of shit and lose all your files.

Apple is a fucking joke.

Wireless is shit.

Although peak throughput is okay-ish (for 3rd world country standards) latency is complete shit so a massive amount of transactions like restoring a lot of files gonna take forever.

Pull a wire or go home.

That's the good part. Because you don't do it regularly you will step into this trap over and over again.

I just use a USB hard drive for time machine

At least two to three times per month.

I guess I've just been using OSX long enough that I never realized that was the default behavior in Windows.

If I ever wanted to merge two folders I'd just drag the contents out of one and into the other. I feel like that's a simple enough solution that it doesn't warrant creating the concept of a "merge". But that's just my opinion.

I have 11ac mimo and can get 100MBps in the same room between my raid 10 NAS and my laptop SSD.

So your network and/or TM volume are crap.
Don't tell us your problems.
I have a 4TB drive on a gigabit network. No probs.
Besides, TM works in the background; it doesn't need to be fast.

It worked flawlessly for me for the first year or two then sucked out of nowhere
