It's only in areas where Comcast has no competition.

No. It's in all of their service areas even if there is competition.

Get raped and kill yourself, you retarded fucking faggot sack of nigger shit with down syndrome.

Why the hostility?

From Comcast's website:
XFINITY Internet customers in the following locations have the Terabyte Internet Data Usage Plan:

buttdevastated american

Don't worry, Trump will fix it.

He hates us for our freedom

I'm a Bulgarian and not only do I get an unlimited incredibly fast (ranked 2nd in the entire world) internet, but it's also incredibly cheap ($10 per month) regardless of monopolies or not. We also have one of the largest torrent trackers (dominated with seeders positioned right around you for maximum speed) that are unshutdownable due to our government being mostly libertarian and never bothering to do it

Call me 3rd world I fucking dare you

Sounds pretty nice desu

The only problem is that you can't download yourself out of Bulgaria

I have a fast connection with unlimited data both at home and on my phone. I also don't need to carry a gun to survive a trip to the supermarket.

> US citizens will never know this feel

Most people don't need to carry a gun to survive a trip to the supermarket in the US

>Xfinity

On Comcast, in Washington, no cap.

It all depends on the plan you have.

That's not what I heard on Sup Forums

Libertarian or just run by oligarchs?

You can't carry a gun to the supermarket

Live in Texas, never heard of anyone having a data cap.

>tfw 400GB allowance because Canada so Bell or Rogers fucks everyone
>mfw it's unmetered overnight tho
>mfw I barely even use 200GB anyway

michigan, metro-detroit, no cap

wew

I don't have a data cap on my home internet.

what's overall standard of living like?

...

Run by the mafia. Mafia then proceeds to leech from it via mindblowingly-expensive architecture, rendering any other state funding (such as welfare) practically impossible. Additionally, to attract companies and maintain a good level of employment so the country doesn't revert to communism like Greece, we have the lowest corporate taxes from the EU (with some companies getting illegal tax reductions further below what's already low). No taxes are risen to cover for the missing welfare and it's simply discarded (pensions and unemployment benefits are about $250 monthly).

The end product is an accidental libertarian tax-free paradise with a government that minds its own business

If you're working an average job, shit. If you're in the IT sector and receive a western salary, you're pretty much like a medieval duke. Everything here is FUCKING cheap, with apartments in the capital costing two annual wages of an American burger flipper.

>If you're in the IT sector and receive a western salary, you're pretty much like a medieval duke

Bogdan pls. They don't pay you a western salary. That's the whole point.

Here in the Netherlands net neutrality laws forbid caps, traffic shaping and so on. And ISP's arent allowed to inspect your traffic to see what you're doing. There are no decryption orders either.

Our government loves spying on everyone, but you are entirely allowed to protect yourself against snooping. Thats why the Dutch ixquick /startmail / startpage work so well.

The biggest Dutch hosting provider also offers 1 tb encrypted storage for free (as a marketing strategy). So you dont need Dropbox and jewgle.

so say you work there in some type of IT job, could live a comfy life with an apartment and buy nice cars, name brand shit and just be chillen?

I'm not. But I don't have any other options.

But in the end you still live in Bulgaria

bull fucking shit, I had that pop up last month.

We're not and I bitched out my ISP when they started imposing a cap.

>Bogdan pls. They don't pay you a western salary. That's the whole point.
I'm not talking about some Bulgarian-based IT startup lmao. The international ones pay a western wage

Pretty much, and the females are huge gold diggers (as expected from a typical slav) so there's also a lot of easy pussy. Only problem is that everything around you will look like a more depressing and shittier version of Russia.

doubt.jpg

If the cost of living is several times smaller than they'll pay less in wages in the vast majority of cases

Just like everything, if you're exceptionally specialised or something then the rules don't really apply.

>We're not
You may not be, but judging by your elected officials, a majority of you are okay with it.

>have no data caps because infrastructure was ready for it
>free unlimited 3G for everyone
>murrica finally got their 3G tech running OK
>companies see them managing to push data caps on their customers
>start whining about how they can't keep up with the data requirements from customers as if they're a capacitance driven service
>smear campaigns against wireless data 'abusers'
>suddenly every company stops offering free data within 3 months of each other
>can now only get a measly 20gb 4G speed
>can hardly even find unlimited data as an option even at higher prices
Free markets. They're _SO_ good at delivering quality.
Not that regulating helps. What they've done is illegal but since these companies are big enough they just let it slide.
Oh and then they had the nerve to call a municipals plans on delivering free WiFi in the cities 'anticompetitive practice'.
t. Sweden

Yeah, Republicans have a great track record of not letting corporations fuck people over

Damn I was hoping it would look decent, some prague-esque place if anything. Yeah seems to be the only thing. Don't care about the gold diggers, just a prospective thought of like a place to go if I wanted to take a girl and just go live with in some other country.

This place just seems to get better and better

>tfw live in Jew York
>tfw have glorious internet, no data caps, and it is cheap as balls
feels good not to belong to the inbred middle of bum-fuck nowhere white trash class of America

because democrats told them their ISP authored net neutrality bill would save them from it, and redditfags believed them

I've already used 20GB of my data next month

and I'm still in 2016.

>Don't care about the gold diggers, just a prospective thought of like a place to go if I wanted to take a girl and just go live with in some other country.

I'd recommend you a summer vacation then. The beach looks quite western and the Bulgarians there become a minority during the summer due to the massive influx of tourists. It is sometimes mindblowing how basically no one speaks Bulgarian there. But yeah, if you can't deal with the Detroit-tier commieblock neighborhoods, I wouldn't recommend going to the rest of the country.

I hope bahnhof gets in on that mobile shit just to shake thing up, but I guess having no relevant infrastructure of your own is a big obstacle.

> what is cost of living

>blaming dems
I'm sure removing any legislation about net neutrality is the way to go

I'm not. Lobbyist bribes the government so no new internet providers can enter my country and I'm stuck getting fucked in the ass paying $70 for 150gb/month, and $140 for 5gb/month for wireless.

Infrastructure should be nationalised desu
Fuck markets

Trump's only a rep because 3rd party people don't win.

I'm I'm Roseville and I have many friends in St. Clair Shores and Warren that just started getting this pop-up as of November. November also being the month they rolled out data caps for metro Detroit.

Doubt he's gonna deviate from republican practice very much.
But I can't blame people for voting Trump when the political wasteland is so crappy over there.

Snohomish county here, with tv/phone/internet bundled, cap started in november

I was looking into Bali, Indonesia lately cuz things there seemed extremely cheap and everything appears tropical with blue water and shit. Iceland seems good too but potentially expensive. Idk about europe overall though. I've been to the mainstream parts like london and paris but the rest I'm unsure about

unsure as in the other parts frighten me to be clear. i feel like the potential to be mugged is higher

9m not pk with it its a load of bullshit and the ISPs know it they are just massive assholes and admit refuse it to

Well like my isp told me, thats the reason I have the cable package.
The internet wasn't made for that sort of stuff, and just because everyone else is misusing it, doesn't mean its right.

my monthly cap is 300gb

Just imagine if they capped your cable and charged $10 for every 10 hours you went over, or charge an extra $50 for unlimited. Tyrone and Jim Bob got a message in the middle of the month telling them they've reached their cap, and that they can either fuck off or stop watching tv, or get fucked by a bill, they'd either stop beating their wives temporarily or beat them a little harder. Shortly thereafter there'd be riots in the streets.

Indonesians are the niggers of Asia, even ignoring the fact they're a Muslim country.

>unironically going to Sup Forums
That was your first problem

I dont know what you just said, but if they capped tv the overage bill would be something like $20 for every half hour over.

I went over my 300gb limit one moth and got slammed with a $300 bill.

>The internet wasn't made for that sort of stuff, and just because everyone else is misusing it, doesn't mean its right.

>i doubt the guy whose own party didn't want him is going to go against the party

Man y'all just fucking assume things. This is what the liberal media does to people. Trump is going to have some fucking garbage policies because the man is a dunce but he's not WITH anyone other than himself.

That said, no, I don't think the big businessman is going to go against big business.

We're not, are we? That shit's only widespread in Canada, right?

At least it isn't 50GB like Turkey's data cap.

Sup Forums thinks that every black person or mexican is super violent and could definitely be a mugger or something. It's absurd.
As someone who worked in retail at a low end store chain in an inner city environment, I was never hassled violently by a black person, and most of them were very friendly, and I generally loved my Hispanic customers, who generally were polite and sociable, even with occasional language barrier issues.

>Why are U.S. citizens okay with data caps?
They're not, any users who have a choice are migrating away in drones.

What about Australia? Far worse here.

Because AOL had us paying by the hour until enough people woke up out of that.

It seems like it's going to go on with phone data for much longer than I hoped.

They're milking us and we just allow it. It's absurd.

I have Cox and they just bumped me from 300gb to 1tb.

Now that I don't download TV shows/movies anymore and just Netflix, I honestly don't even come close to that cap. Even when I was using usenet/torrents at my peak, I was around 500gb (they didn't do anything about overages).

1024 / 30 = 34 gigs a day. who needs to download that much?

does it count as cuckolding

This is a mistake people make. Your salary should not be set by the place you decide to live in, it's set by the market qnd your skills. If your potential employer tries to use if for leverage, just counter by stating that you are part of a global work market, not local, and what if you decide to move some place else, will your salary be adjusted? What if an employee moves, will that person reveive a pay cut? Of course, if you are desperate and a mediocre webdev you'll probably fail at negotiating that, but if you are skilled and you know your worth, then you should have no problems to have the same salary as someone living in some "expensive place"

T. Work in the IT sector for a decent startup and pay my apt rent with 4h of work, rarely spend more than 10% of what I earn.

>bundle
>2016

>tfw have shitty dsl
>tfw I couldn't download a terabyte in a month even if I spent every hour of every day of the month downloading

I carry a gun every day and have never even been in a situation where I had a suspicion of having to use it.

kek

1TB is fine entitled fuck. A few years ago a FUP would give you ~500GB.

This. there is nothing wrong with ISPs keeping you from overloading *their* networks with CP and warez.

>1 tb encrypted storage for free
You mean that transip shit that forces you to use webdav? no thanks.

Only some states have data caps
Idk why you retards keep bringing this up like all US citizens have data caps. I don't even think there is anything they could to about it.

As soon as we get another provider in the area we switch. When Google Fiber (botnet, I know, but better than comcast) came to our area, we brought back the modem and canceled. The rep was telling us a lot of people didn't like Google Fiber and switched back to comcast because they liked it more and it was more reliable. We laughed so hard at that bold faced lie.

Now I moved and I have Wave G.

Like I would ever pay for anything with a data cap.

I'm in downriver MI and we have a 1tb cap.

Well initially Comcast wanted a 300GB data cap, but we said no to that. So instead Comcast went with the 1TB cap. Which as of now doesn't bother me, but give it a few years when 4K becomes normal and more and more people stream. This is the same shit that happened when the cell companies introduced data caps to "save customers money." Then a few years later people constantly go over and are charged $15 a 1GB or w/e.

$250? nigger you aren't living in the same country obviously, more like 150

Now I'm imagining you tying a bookshelf to a pigeon and yelling about being throttled.

...

Amerifats 3rd worlders BTFO as always

Because the poor think that getting fucked makes you look wealthy. I blame Apple for this mentality.
>Less is more= Less is more $=Less money=more nothing

Over Christmas, at my grandmother's in Skamania county, Washington, she mentioned her data cap when we were setting up her new phone. I wanted to pipe up but there's nothing I could've done. Even if I convinced her to hold the same vehement hatred of such bullshit, it's not like she could do anything about it. Out there, it's either internet with data caps or no internet at all.

I'm generally a right winger economically but this is one case where legislation against this type of shit is a necessity

>data caps
thanks verizon!

You use more you pay more

I'm not. Thankfully I finally have an option to get away from it. Municipal fiber broadband through my city. Going to be moving to that here in about a month or so once I'm caught up on bills.

It really feels otherwordly to me. Here i pay ~30€ for a 50/50, and over there they make themselves seem charitable for basically crippling home users connection.

This is my biggest beef with data caps

arstechnica.com/information-technology/2016/09/tales-from-comcasts-data-cap-nation-can-the-meter-be-trusted/

you are just expected to trust the cable providers meter and pay up when they tell you to pay up. I know 4 different people who use their internet like regular people, pretty much just facebook machining, that regularly go over their 1tb cap, and they just pay for it because comcast says they have to.
comcast won't do a thing to prove you used the data, what you used it for, or when it was used. They'll only tell you that they're metering system is completely infallible and you owe money

Its only a matter of time till comcast gets hacked, inadvertently infecting all their customers with a botnet that secretly sucks down their data. its probably already happened but sooner or later they'll get sued for it

But internet speeds near Detroit are so slow that you don't even have a chance of reaching any data cap, it's worse than any third world shithole there

>mfw i dont have data caps

Used to work for at&t phone tech support, the tools they gave us to measure bandie didn't work at all
You could have clients who used netflix all day on their 3mbps dsl connection, and have only 1gb of bandwidth used per month, some old folks with 768kbps were above their 100gb cap by a LOT.
Even our managers told us those tools didn't work, sometimes users using only few gb were being charged 50-80$ for going over their "limit"

Imho, U.S.A. doesn't promote transparency as much.

Glad that my ISP Doesn't have data caps.

reminder that comcasts newer wifi devices will actually set up a hotspot for public usage called xfinitywifi

that anybody can use their comcast credientials to use the internet coming out of your modem.
and anybody without credentials can rent out your supplemental network by paying a small fee directly to comcast

I don't know how any of that shit is calculated in your data usage, but From everything comcast has told me, they don't know what any of the data is being used for or even the devices its being used on, only that your modem is sucking down data and its going towards your cap

>Why are U.S. citizens okay with data caps
It's almost like the ISPs have some mafia protection bullshit setup where there's no option but to use the ISP you currently have because they refuse to service areas that other ISPs have so they don't have to be competitive...
And idiots will defend the lack of regulations. Just let them keep self regulating right? It's been working real well hasn't it
