I found the manual and tired it but I got the same black screen with cursor
I finally downloaded it, unfortunately I'm still stuck with the same infinite loading screen even with the CD inside

When I press the power button and then turn it on again I get the black screen with cursor
When I hold it I and then turn it on again it's the windows logo with the loading thingy and then after a while just the loading thingy
Am I fucked?

You'll need to find a free service to monitor your ip adress and convert it to a dns your traveling laptop can use. You can also set up a pptp vpn using windows built in features but that's insecure as fuck

I don't know shit about youtube-dl, but you could use clipconverter.cc, it even merges the audio stream on 1080p videos

Was this drive pulled from another system? You want to make sure that system reserved partition isn't important before deleting it. If you take out the hard drive does your system still boot?

Nope, brand new. I think those 100MBs might be the BIOS, since I first booted the computer with the HDD, then I added the SSD and installed Windows there. The Asus motherboard I have has this kind of BIOS.

I have a windows 8 laptop thats been half filled with bloat for a while. I got ride of as much as I could but the thing is still slow on startup. Anyone got any trusted tools for speeding up a computer? Like registry cleaners and the like? Its a good computer, Its just filled with crap from the manufacturer.

External drives are generally rated at much lower load/unload cycle counts than their internal counterparts, meaning especailly in a laptop where load/unload is done frequently because of powersaving, the disk can die awfully quick.

It's not your bios, it's your boot files. Strictly speaking you don't need to do anything, this just means that both your HDD and SDD have to stay in your computer in order for windows to work. It's not hard to move the boot files over, it's just a little hard to explain the steps

I have a desktop currently with two hard drives connected, booting from C with D as extra storage. I want to install a fresh Windows with no external media.
Is it possible for me to turn D into a bootable installation image, boot from it, and then in the Windows install screen format C and install to that?

There's no consensus. Windows 7 is a little higher maintenance, but it's also pretty BS free. Bear in mind that some games will require windows 10, like the ones microsoft ports from the xbone

Ok, that's not what those do. It's not a recovery, it's your boot files. It's like a tiny folder that tells your computer where windows is located. If it gets deleted, windows can't start. Since it's not on the same drive as windows, it means you're now reliant on both drives to keep working

Yes, they are used for SATA Express which can be used as normal SATA.

I used windows 10 for a week. There wasn't anything good enough that made me want to keep using it. I purged it from my drive and did a dual boot of win7 and ubuntu. I'm satisfied with the current setup. I use the win7 side for games and office and I use the ubuntu side for coding.
