How do you name your files?

underscore

Spaces like any other non-autistic person.

I just use spaces. Seems pretty obvious

> I don't use a terminal

You deserve to be shot

I'm a fan of dashes for that double click word highlighting.

>pressing tab in terminal

Enjoy having to type all that shit up every time you want to open a file. Meanwhile all my files are 5 letters at most

>inb4 muh wildcards!

>2017
>naming files
Use tags for all media

or type a few letters then press tab

Dashes, but must say I barely have multi-word filenames unless they're numbered/date-indexed

Also, indexes go first for sorting purposes: its 5assignment not assignment5, dates obviously 20161225-log.txt for date indexes

underscore because muh looniex

well, I'm not a Pajeet, therefore underscore

>> I don't use a terminal
'filename with spaces'
Why don't you just leave?

>not memorizing each file's inode and using it to identify them

XD U NAMED UR SELF user? WUT!!!!???

OMG H O W DO U USE XCAPE CHARACTARRRR LMAAAOOOOOOOO

AYY LMAO?? XDD WUT THE HECK!!!??

spaces because i'm not a freetarded lincuck

why not all three?
camelCase spaces_underscores.exe

A mix of underscores and CamelCase is good for me.

Underscores.

And?

you can put spaces into filenames in linux, but it makes accessing them by cli a bit clunkier (having to escape them).

I used to use underscores, but since using lisps i use dashes. CamelCase is retarded.

Wha's an xcape?

Camel case looks so comfy though

CamelCaseIsReallyHardToRead
dashes-are-much-easier-to-read

undersore is the best by far but I use camel case because fuck it

translation:
>i'm not an autist

enjoy having cryptic as fuck filenames and not being able to tell at a glance what each one is

I think he's being sarcastic, as it's not funny, creative, or original. It's cringy too.

That creates a lot of irritations on real operating systems. Plz never leave your mom's house.

>not using a unixtimestamp for all your filenames

What\ is\ wrong\ with\ your\ head\ boy?

My filesystem takes care of this. I hate redundancy.

I just put spaces in because it's not the 1980s

Funniest thing is he probably doesn't get this.

Underscore.

camelCase is garbage because of initialisms.

Hyphens are used in real English words.

Forgot one:
No user-navigated directories start with the same two letters unless really required
Don't even really have to look when tabbing

yeah but underscores are hard to see when they're part of a hyperlink, like this image

One time I managed to (programatically) name a file with an illegal char. It was undeletable and stayed until I reformatted.

So even better? You can read much quicker by not seeing the underscores

What font are you using?

It just shows up as a thicker underline for me.

>camel_Score
>under_Case
?

If you want to reference the file for whatever reason it would be harder to tell whether they're underscores or spaces

looks exactly the same

...

i'MsOrAnDoM.lOl

here's a quick solution:

never
use
spaces

>looks exactly the same
As spaces? or on your computer? I'm looking at the screenshot and it's clear that they're spaces.

Just check whether the underline is double the thickness.

The hyperlink looks exactly the same on my computer as it does on yours.

>looks exactly the same
As spaces? or on your computer? I'm looking at the screenshot and it's clear that they're underscores.

...

>spaces
fucking kill yourself, worthless degenerate

Spaces.

Dashes
>easier to type than underscores
>dashes count as word separators for selection and by search engines
>easier to read than underscores, like here

camelCase because its the easiest to type

Underscore, but it feels like a losing battle when everything I download doesn't stick to the convention.

\?
Isn't it?

Nothing sticks to convention.

Different libraries use different conventions.

If it's video, then spaces.
If it's pic nothing. Not even camel case

Kebab-case because it looks neat.

I use emoji XD ^_~

Let`s settle this once and for all

Spaces aren't there, friendo.

snake_case >>> everything else

Spaces because fuck you.

>hurr Id rather do a million underscores than do a quotation mark before and after
>durr I cant plan ahead

I dont use a terminal

Why write What\ is\ wrong\ with\ your\ head\ boy?

when you can write "What is wrong with your head boy?"

Why take the contrived way out you pretentious piece of shit

this_for_file_names_and_c_variables
this-for-lisp-symbols
thisWhenINeedToWriteInJava

you need more death threats.

I use kebab case.

kys

OpIsAFaggot_ver001

why is this the case? Like I do the same. Is it the standard?

People that use dashes are degenerate.

Underscores and camelCase are the only legit options here.
