So, my 1060 died while basically on idle, I was recording a game from PS4 with an elgato HD60.
I did anything I could, took it out and put it in 5 times, reinstalled drivers, tried different PSU cables, tried it on a different PC. Fucking dead, the only thing working is the fan.
What could be the cause? Everything else in the PC is perfect, the card served me flawlessly for 4 months

It was a piece of sho shitt and any of hundreds of components died. RMA it.

If you're within warranty rma it.
If not, it could be literally anything. All the individual components come from a variety of suppliers, all of which have some chance of premature failure, even the very best ones. You can remove the cooler and look for obvious shit stains, but failures aren't always dramatic enough to identify without some special equipment.
And even then you need a steady hand with a soldering iron.

If you got the non amp then your fault, its 2016 and relying on heatsink without proper heatpipes hsf designs just asks for it.

Unless its a 1050 or 1050ti then the normal hsf would work.
