How does anybody get any work done without a multi monitor setup?
Shit, that used to take me 20 minutes at my old job is now taking double that and wasting my fucking time. I've talked to my boss about it but he's saying we can't do it because everyone would want two screens and Senior management won't buy them. I've told him I'd bring in my own monitor and he still says that could cause problems.
This is driving me fucking nuts and I'm probably going to set it up anyway.
After really dipping my toes into multi-monitor with a laptop and external display, I don't see how anyone who wants to be productive can do with a single display either.

>work >being too dumb to get rich quick on the stock market >being too much of a normalfag to get disability/autismbux >wasting money on 3 monitors because you're too dumb to properly position your windows and/or alt-tab
I'm not a wageslave so my computer is purely for entertainment and my 32" 4K monitor is plenty large enough for everything.
Cooper Howard
What exactly you need multiple monitor for? Just set up Emacs and you wouldn't even need to run another program.

>daily productivity >web browsing and movies (???)
Jaxson Jones
Multi-tasking actually decreases productivity.
Juan Sullivan
Why the hell are you working there? I could care less about a pay raise (unless it was stupid huge), I wouldn't dare take my next coding job without learning the creature comforts of the office and what I'll be stuck with for environment.

>mfw I have 2 PCs at work with 2 monitors each and it's never enough
Wyatt Smith
>Productivity >One monitor dedicated to web browsing/youtube
>People are taking this bait seriously
Noah Cruz
Is it your job to manage productivity?

>not knowing what workspaces are >not using a tiling wm
You don't need three fucking monitors if you can only look at them one at a time
Instead of multiple monitors why not connect a lap top to act as an extra monitor? No one would complain about two screens then because you would technically have one screen and a lap top.
Angel Lee
Just grow a pair and bring your own monitor.

>making any significant cash on the stock market >implying this has anything to do with intelligence
Why does no one have multiple TVs so they can "multi-watch".
Joseph Allen
I don't like multi monitors because it feels like someone is flashing a flashlight in the corner of my eyes.
I think it's up to personal choice because monitors now are relatively inexpensive and I don't think price is the deciding factor.
Isaiah Diaz
Just switch between apps. If you absolutely need multiple apps on screen at once just position them appropriately.
Noah Watson
most people in the corporate world that have a laptop also have a docking station & extra external monitors. At least everywhere I've been.
Aiden Hall
My thoughts exactly.

Personally I think that 40" 2160p@60 is the sweet spot.

for those of you who run multi monitor setups, how much PC power do you really need to run everything effectively?
Jackson Murphy
Ultra wide is best. Plenty of work space with no ugly bezels.

How's your mom's basement?

It sounds like you're a fucking idiot. You have not even mentioned what it is you do. The only people who need multiple monitors are people in finance and trading, they need multiple shit displayed in front of them at all times.
Easton Ortiz
YOU GUYS HAVE MONITORS??
Nathaniel Turner
>ultrawide
I am tempted. Which one you recommend? I am looking for dell 3417 and LG 34uc88 but still cannot decide.
Noah Martinez
i've been thinking of going 1440p@144hz, but OTOH people who have tried ultra-wide monitors literally can not shut the fuck up about how lifechanging they are so now i'm conflicted

get a single 2560 x 1080 monitor and use it as a dual screen
Austin Watson
>need to debug a fullscreen application while monitoring both its log and a server log >dude just get a bigger screen! nope
