>What is cyberpunk?
Cyberpunk is a genre of science fiction set in a lawless subculture of an oppressive society dominated by computer technology.

So then, when are you going to update that ol' Pasta?

Darkroastedblend has a lot of interesting links.
But user, that's STEAMpunk.
How do I get that whole cyberpunk feel? What OS says cyberpunk?
Tfw techwear is one of the most expensive Street styles
which network?
The future of the 1980's ain't coming. We're living in a cyberprep world.
Be well.
What does define tech to be /cyb/-related
And totally for posers since the beginning.
You do know Steampunk derives from Cyberpunk, right? Right??
>What OS says cyberpunk?
9front. New release hit the net quite recently.
Wasn't it supposed to be all silvery, shiny and skintight?
high tech, low life, chummer
so basically, a cheap windows machine if you're a shazbot, and a cheap windows machine with linux installed if you know your way around a cyberdeck
macs are for the bourgies, dumb normies, and rich skiddies
*nix obviously.
Why is this even a question?
looks like John Romero
A cheap machine in 2020 will probably be what is high end today. Few things age faster than machines. I hear some consider servers have a useful life of 3 years and I see 5 year old Dell servers go cheaply on the net.
okay good point, a cheap second-hand 2010-2012 macbook would be high-tech low-life too
please notice me, I forgot the question mark
I would define it as something re-purposed, hacked together, or scavenged. Generally things that you would expect to see in a high tech, yet generally low income area. An unusual form factor, durable, and with lots of ports are common features, for starters.
Early 2000s Thinkpads?
Self-built PCs?
rizon
how is freenet cyberpunk? is it safe? should i run it in a vm?
Those are good as well, especially ThinkPads. I have a T43 myself (2005), and I love it. Although, self-built PCs are a bit common nowadays, but maybe not for long.
Freenet plays into the subversion of security. Good opsec is hard to come by nowadays. As for the safety, I admit to not knowing a whole lot. As with anything, doing your research is a good course of action before you decide to install.
What do you think, Soviet PCs like RK-80 or Vector-04C ZX Spectrum clones are cyberpunk enough?
Most of them were built by hand.
Definitely. And wow, I never knew those were a thing. I wish I was talented enough to put something that finished and functional together.
Maybe one day...

what's the most cyberpunk city right now?
tokyo
>tokyo, japan
Actually, it's Singapore you dumb weeb. It also looks more futuristic than that shithole
Hong Kong will continue to be even without Kowloon Walled City because of its nebulous combination of Chinese SAR and pro-openness whistleblower protections.
Sure Tokyo is the glitz but HK is the grit of cyberpunk.
So much this, HK is god-tier cyperpunk
singapore is a country constructed by businessmen
it's simply a tourist destination for any western businessman that doesn't like Japan pretty much but has business with east asia

Wew, 3 years soon lads! Get hype!
A few of us in IRC had a meetup at 33C3 this year and it was absolutely fantastic. Met some truly fantastic people. And it all started from a shitty general on a shitty Ukrainian flower arranging bbs.

Based.
Yugoslavia was great. No wonder US had to fuck it up.
We even had a sci-fi journal which would release great sci-fi short stories, novels and novellas. It even had a counterpart for erotica.
Now we have six countries filled with religious fanatics and fascists.
Blame the Pope in Rome for that, not the US. The US is merely a puppet.
tfw battle angel might not become a shitty film
I found this little fucker recently
It has no numbers nor any data 'bout it
Any idea what it was meant to do?
I bet it's made in USSR, I live in Poland and I found it in my grandfather's garage, so it's for sure old as hell
Looks like a valve for a tube amp.
This.
Have you continue with haptics or move on to something else? What's new in the grinder community?
>I can get a 15yo Porsche or Mercedes for cheap
>it's totally cyberpunk now
>objektno programiranje
Was it ever good?
yeah im still trying various things related to haptics, i think it's really the best way to get implants that function as a natural-feeling part of the body to the user. as for the grinder commmunity i'm not sure, i've been asleep for a while. will be using the blog more often so i'll put anything i learn about either one on there.
