DIMINISH IN RETURNS

DIMINISH IN RETURNS

Because anything bigger than 1920x1080 is mentally retarded.

But I did :^)

maybe 4k, 2k is the sweet spot

>still hasn't released the OLED monitor they announced at CES last year

wew

nice shop

that's quite awful to be honest

Nope, Nvidia allows custom resolutions and I created it (:

It is, lol

8k at 32" in still well within the resolving ability of human vision.
On a phone it would be absurd, but I'm sure that's where we'll see it first.

can't wait for all my videos to look blurry on that

With a single video cable?

Or is it some MST hack.

DP has enough bandwidth.

Good riddance. Dell still haven't released the 5000$ OLED monitor they teased last year, why would they ever release this one?

Looking forward to seeing 8k though. Unless the scaler is horribly slow, the pixels should be so tiny that un-native resolutions aren't blurry

>eventually someone is gonna shove 8K on a 24 inch screen resulting in 390 PPI
wew
images comparable to the native res will look great, but font rendering and most webpages are gonna scale like absolute shit

It's closer to the limit for normal eyes unless it's placed closer than 2 feet, you have to keep the field of view/relative size in mind. Also phone sized 8k displays (per eye) would be very useful for 110-degree VR headsets since that's where you'd start to lose the screendoor effect.

Why would font rendering scale like shit? Fonts look great on 400-500 ppi phone screens.

This one at least has a release date of March 23 and LG has a 31.5" 8k panel starting production Q1.

Does anything have a displayport 1.3 output?

Prepare for a narrow column of 8 font text with 8" white sidebars
Font rendering will probably be fine
>400-500 ppi phones
>not having an 806 ppi phone

nvidia gtx 10-series supports 7680x4320@60Hz through displayport 1.4, not sure about amd's cards

>4k tvs barely catching on
>All are still 60hz
>Very little true 4k content
>Video cards struggle with games at 4k already

4k isn't even worth going to yet, 8k is a ways off.

literally the same PPI as a 16 inch 4K display

itt literally retarded tech

There is more to computers than games and movies.

Pascal and Poolaris support 1.4 and Skylake graphics support 1.3.

Never seen that phone myself but I've read it doesn't render anything at 4k and only displays media at full resolution. 5" 4k at 1 foot/20 degrees should exceed human visual acuity though, so that's the goal.

PPI is such a terrible metric for comparing screens because it's the relative field of view not that physical size that matters for perceived sharpness. A 16" 4k screen on a laptop is far from retarded. Would you prefer 1366x768?

After human vision is reached, the electronics companies should invest in better bionic eyes, so they can continue to sell us screens. I can imagine it now
Dell XPS703942 32k* monitor

how did you solve that captcha?

> Not 1920x1200

I use the newer one with "select all street signs" and stuff..

>not 1920x1280

>What's better than 4K resolution in a monitor? Four times 4K! Yes, previously only seen in prototypes or in sizes far too large for a desktop, we're excited to announce our new 8K monitor.

What?

Do you understand how pixels work?
8k = 4 times 4k

>There is more to computers than games and movies
like what

yeah like what user? i'd like to know too.

i mean there's Sup Forums but, well, you know.
