DESK BOW

rate & improvements

...

No.

hide the cables and take a pic in some actual daylight, it's probably a nice setup
Pretty neat, consider drilling a hole in the middle of your desk to drop the mouse and keyboard cables in to.

Can someone give me some advise. My setup doesn't feel good at all and I haven't bothered changing anything in a while. Also rate please.

hide the wires & tidy up the junk on your desk

Anyone following CES? This year feels pretty boring.

Can't say I've ever followed it desu, I just read about it when it comes on the news.

Just got myself a MS20, amazing synthesizer.

...

Behind my desk where I play console games and records n shit.

10/10 as always
Wish I had such a huge desk!

It's good, just organize and do a but of cable management.

Very nice setup as always user.

I don't really keep up with CES either, sometimes on YouTube I'll see a video or something.

Nicer Godzilla figures :)

You should upgrade the mate, and maybe get a PS2 since that can play PS1 games and PS2, and you can mod it.

Needs a bigger desk.

Like that wooden headphone holder, and that cute little cat. Is it a lamp?
Nice setup.

user please take a better picture

Right below it I do have a PS2. The reason I have both is because I have the PS2 using composite cables, and for some reason PS1 games just refuse to work on a PS2 using composite video.

It's weird.

*TV

Also I'll never give up my sony trinitron, amazing colors and works really well for older games.

Also it's nostalgic and comfy to be around.

>It's weird
Yea it really is, have no idea what the issue can be.

>Also it's nostalgic and comfy to be around
It's also extremely fucking big and bulky. user sometimes it is time to move on...

what are the lamps!

hello catt

Would you mind posting your wall papers?

...

Nice as always
Better when taking the picture next time maybe
Clean up the cables a bit
Best as always

I usually also just watch some videos or whatever, but this year seems a lot more of the same stuff we had last CES.

I replied on the other thread. The right lamp is this one amazon.com/gp/product/B012TH34DQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A2CMX1D89VUCPH but I don't have a link for the left one, as I found it on a local lighting store.

Here you go: imgur.com/a/gtvTk
First three are the cropped and tweaked ones I'm using, the others are the original pictures.

That angle is still great.

Is the desk that is holding up the desk sagging a bit?

Can't see much desu.

I think cables mainly. Perhaps try routing them down a leg so they're not just hanging too.

It looks really comfy. I like the soft light from the right lamp.

gib aebleskiver and rodbrus

Is this the same lamp as ?

I don't think it's sagging, and it's just one desk btw. it's an extendable dinner table.

You long legged faggot.

What has been announced so far? I think I heard something of a VR headset with no cables.

Fealty free to rape

A joke was attempted. I just remember that user used to tease you about it.

I love what you did with your monitor placement. Looks very good.
What monitors are you using?

oh lmao yeh ikr they seemed to care about my desk sagging more than I did.

Haha I had that video in my sub feed as well, gonna watch it.

>It looks really comfy. I like the soft light from the right lamp.
Thanks user, really liking your place. Some cable managing and maybe hanging something up on the walls would make it 10/10. Love the monitors, desk and the Vita.

I mostly just looked into hardware stuff, and everything from AMD, Intel and NVIDIA was a disappointment, and the rest is basically just more RGB and tempered glass on everything. Not really into VR.

I was letting it play while I pooped, saw this thread on the toilet

Yea sounds disappointing. At least the Nintendo Switch conference is going to be in a few days, I am excited for that.

Lol

I'm curious about the Switch, but can't say I'm that excited about it. Everything Nintendo made recently was shit, and it looks like an uncomfortable tablet that isn't portable nor powerful enough to be used as a console. I wish Sony didn't abandon the Vita.

...

It's a pair of u2414h.

Yeh, I've had to pull everything down recently and I'll have to do it again in a week's time so I can't be bothered to route the cables until then. And I suppose my walls are a bit barren. Just wish I knew what to hang on them.

Nice nixie clock. I want one so bad.

Please dominate my desk

>mfw just went from 18 inch shit monitor to 24 inch 1080p

Just woke up, saw this post and thought that I was still in 2007.

It can run modern game engines, like Unreal Engine 4 at medium settings. I wouldn't say it's uncomfortable, it might be very comfortable.
I am probably gonna get one just so I can play some Nintendo games.

I wish my monitors had VESA mounts like yours :(

Just get one, not that expensive!

Great, stuck pixel just showed up on a monitor I've had for like 2 months.

It looks like it's going to have a Maxwell based chip, so I wouldn't expect much from it. The leaked specs aren't that great at all. The shape looks similar to the 3DS square with round edges design, and also a bit like a streamlined Wii U controller, which are both terribly uncomfortable IMO.
If you want to play Nintendo games, I'd either get a 3DS or look into hacking a Vita and emulating older stuff, or wait and see if they actually make something decent for the Switch. I bought a 3DS and a Wii U for a couple of games while expecting better ones to come out in the future, and I ended up being disappointed with both.

I feel the opposite personally, there's been a load of new technology coming out recently and it's pretty cool seeing it all slowly come to market. Mostly it just makes me more excited for whats to come with stuff like IoT and AR a few years down the line.

I think the main thing killing the appeal of your station are the curtains, imo. It makes it looks sloppy and without uniform. I had that same problems because I wanted my setup with a view, but I solved it by installing blinds, and now it looks a million times nicer. As others have said, cable management. I think also looks quite bad is because of the lighting, get better lighting, maybe a lamp with a softer lighting, lighting can definitely change the appeal of a room.

Happy new year Sup Forums :3 I'm playing with a Pixhawk today~

Get a cable nest mounted under your desk, put the computer somewhere else so it's not wasting valuable desk space and operating at ear level.

Maybe but I don't think a Maxwell chip (Like the X1) can run the full version of Unreal Engine 4.

Why do you have the monitors so flat together?

I'm trying to think of a different position to set them up in.

considering left horizontal and right for vertical.

any suggestions/recommendations?

Just do something like this (my setup) Same exact lamp. Don't know if he got it before me or afterwards. I posted links here a few times.

>Don't know if he got it before me or afterwards.
I'm pretty sure I'm the one who linked it to you when you asked for recommendations user. I got mine for like 2 years I think.

If you use them equally, center the bezel and have them angled, or if you use one more than the other, have it flat and centered with the other one angled on the side.

Nope. I looked for it myself, I mean it doesn't really matter anyways. Seems to be somewhat popular.

Posting my battlestation while on vacation.

Thanks for the tip guys! Much easier on the head looking around.

Much better user! Love how your setup looks now.
I need to get some curtains like you do, with my current ones anybody can look in if they come up to the window.

How much does a 950 go for?

How about a decent picture so we can actually see the setup?

4/10 learn cable management

I've seen you before. One of the only glass desk setups I like

What's up my man?

>You should upgrade the mate, and maybe get a PS2 since that can play PS1 games and PS2, and you can mod it.

Not the same user, you know me. But if you look the PS1 is sitting on top of a PS2

That's lovely and clean
Bonus points for the perfectly aligned screens.

What are those devices next to the tablet? The ones that the pen is sitting on top of.

Too cramped/10
The case is kinda cool. Too flashy for my tastes.

Still amazing user.
When are you moving again?

That looks much better than the previous image. You should never have multiple monitors 100% flush with each other.

Do those stands actually allow you to rotate the screens? That's a nice feature.

youtube.com/watch?v=bHR7RxOkyfs

Watching some Ben Heck :)
How's everything mate?

>PS1 is sitting on top of a PS2
I'm an idiot didn't even notice

That's looking nice, I like it. Not sure if you can fit some arms on your desk, but that would make it look even better, plus some cable routing. I'm not a big fan of the Dell monitor stands. They do offer a lot of freedom of movement and ease of use, but the base is so god damn large. It was the main reason I decided to get wall mounts.

howdy

nice CRT. They are the best for older systems.

I don't know why you would have a PS1 though apart from nostalgia reasons. N64 and Sega Saturn are much funner systems.

He did explain it here: That video looks super interesting. I think I'll watch it after today's round of SWC matches.

>How's everything mate?
Things are decent. Getting paid within the next couple of days and I have a friend visiting.

Going shopping with an old friend for her birthday tomorrow too. Should be a fun day out.

Please get yourself a coaster. Mugs ruin mats like that.

Looking good. Which Fractal case is that?
I would suggest tilting the screens like this user: but I would imagine that it's fine with the distance you sit from them.

Yeah these curtains are nice, keep the heat in and hold the sun back a decent amount.
I almost wish they held back more sun since I'm working at night currently and attempt to sleep during the day

Yeah you have an insane amount of rotation on these. (Dell u2515H) they also rotate 90* on both sides.

Unfortunately the ikea micke has some problems attaching monitor arms to it like some user mentioned a thread or two ago. It's got drawrs below it with no real place to clamp securely. I'll probably be routing the cables later today since I've found a position thats comfortable for me to use them in now

>Looking good. Which Fractal case is that?
It's the Fractal Arc XL, I don't think they make it anymore, don't know why I love it.

You might wanna look into that water damage friendo.

I doubt they make it anymore. I have a Define S
Really sucks I couldn't find the windowed version though I need to keep an eye out for a separate window.

I should get some screens like that. I'm using pic related. LG-23MV68VQ
They're not bad for about $120 or so.
Though I only paid £20 for all 3 so I can hardly complain.

You should watch it! It came out amazing, Ben is extremely fucking skilled.

Sounds great! Hope you have a great time user.

Yea I would like something that blocks all all light and heat, it gets annoying if your trying to sleep with light in your face.
I can always turn on the lamp for some light or the room light so I don't mind a little bit of darkness during the day.

I'm watching it now. It's an interesting video so far.

Really is. Wish I was able to do things like that, very much interested but I suck when it comes to things like that.

Going back up north soon!
Fuck this shit side of Britland!

hello fellow dota player

I need to get around to learning more about electronics. I have access to so many cool tools and no idea what to do with them ahah.

What keyboard is that?

How could one learn? I am so interested in doing these type of projects and shit.

Like something that is very simple to do and good practice is a homemade taser with an arc generator. I would like to do that but my only issue currently is some type of housing for it (I can get most of the parts of it from China)

I have no idea how one would learn about that. I'm a uni student studying Computer Science so I learn some basic stuff about it.
Everything else I guess would just be from researching online and books.

My main issue is just figuring out what to do. I've always been bad at figuring out projects to do to practice something. I'm so out of practice with my programming.

I really like your Godzilla collection

Uhhhh because PS1 had some of the greatest RPG's ever made and ridge racer type 4.

I just finished watching it. That's really rather awesome.

Not water damage, I'm just a degenerate who wears their shoes inside. And thats a hole from my shitty walls.

Yea but honestly I think it is mostly practice, and studying things like electricity.
I am pretty bad when it comes to ideas as well so I'll probably just copy what I see or really think about things I could use.

One thing I have had in my mind is building a PC inside of an original xbox case.

That would be pretty neat. There's a decent amount of room in an old xbox case. Though not enough for a super large PC. Might be easier to put laptop hardware in there.

It's definitely practice and study. It's the same with programming. It's a perishable skill so the less you do, the worse you get.

>What are those devices next to the tablet?

A Magni amp and a Modi DAC. And an HDD under those two.

I think that a mini-itx build wouldn't be very hard, a small PSU would be needed tho, same with some low profile RAM, and cooler. I would try to do it if I had the money.

>It's definitely practice and study
>It's a perishable skill
Sure is, some people are also naturally good at it though.

Thanks man! Moving in on Monday, not looking forward to cable managing again.

What numpad is that?

>tux
>win10

Don't worry, he understands.

It would all have to be low profile.

I'm told I have a knack for programming. It's not hard after you learn the basic concepts.

As for electronics... I have no idea. Never really tried.

Ahhh. You get much use out of them?

I find half the fun is the setup user.
It's nice putting in the work knowing that the end result will be satisfying.

Delayed gratification is important.

>What numpad is that?
Keycool 22 key numpad.
It's just some cheap mechanical numpad from China.
It has one major flaw in that the 0 - 9 keys register as 0 - 9 not Num 0 - Num 9
Not too big a deal but it means I can't use them as extra keys to bind stuff in in videogames.

The switches are Kailh Mx Reds. Which was half the reason I wanted to get it. Wanted to test Kailh vs Cherry switches.
I think it's safe to say I'm sticking with Cherrys.

How are them keycaps? If I get a cherry board again I'm gonna have to try them

The Tai-hao Miamis? I love them to pieces. They're PBT

Were 100% worth paying for. I had to order an expansion kit for non-standard caps though. The R-Shift on this keyboard is smaller than standard. About the size of the capslock

I'm a drug addict. I should probably kill myself...

...

I should've put some on my Pok3r before I sold it. Do you know if they do the 'raindrop' kit in PBT? All I can find on ebay is doubleshot ABS

I'm not 100% on that one but your best bet is to look here:
tai-hao.com/catalog/index.php?index_m1_id=18&index_m2_id=20

A quick glance says no though.

Goon

Hey man. I was just doing some browsing and though these are some nice clocks for your room:
massdrop.com/buy/inked-screened-geometric-wooden-clocks

Quite pricey though

Looks decent.
A little cramped
-1 for space heater case.

>It would all have to be low profile
Sure would.

>As for electronics... I have no idea. Never really tried.
Fuck it I am gonna try, gonna ask a friend for some ideas on the taser.

Wish I had a 3D printer, could have very easily made a casing.

I would suck at programming, extremely terrible at Math as well.

Didn't you clean your room once?
It's fucking disgusting user. Please clean it :(
Have you stopped taking the Benzos?

That is quite nice and I wouldn't mind having it in my room but the price is steep! I could afford one but for that money wasted I could have bought a bunch of other decorations or useful shit.
