Is that the snowfrake dial? Looks bomb ass.
These seikos have no escapement do they?
you guys ever find anything nice at a thrift store?
Depends what you mean by escapement. They have an electromagnet that controls the speed of the gear train, but no balance spring or fork
Love the snowfrake
Get it together OP
Where do you guys position the clasp?
I always take links off the 6 side first, you want the folded part centered on the bottom of your wrist.
Crown side towards me in that pic
Grand Seikos need to be cheaper by $1000
why
What is a good way to remove links from a new seiko bracelet? I use other straps I have because it's so difficult. What are some good tools to use for that?
You need to be less poor by $1000 tbqh.
Because it's literally a month's pay
For you maybe
depends on your bracelet
if it's push pins you can use a tool like ebay.com
i just used the opposite end of my spring bar tool
oh so you're just sad that you can't afford them
well i'm with you there
That's a quartz one right? How exaxtly does it work
Yeah a £2 quartz seiko that's worth £40 on ebay. You're gonna have to look real hard. Whenever I go in I hope against hope that some dumbass has given away a vacheron Constantine or something not knowing it's horological value, and I manage to get it for 50 pounds
there's a video at the end of the previous thread explaining it or you can google it, there are plenty of resources online
Yes, it's quartz. Very briefly, there is a traditional gear train, but instead of an escape wheel, there is a wheel with a magnet on it there is a circuit than measures how quickly the wheel is turning and compares it with the rate from the quartz oscillator. If the wheel is going too fast, the circuit engages an electromagnet that slows down the wheel's rotation.
>Very briefly, there is a traditional gear train
everything except the escapement is a traditional gear train
How awful would it look if I tried to put an 18mm strap on a 17mm band?
You can get a quartz GS for under 2k grey market
You're going to attach a strap to band? If you mean watch, it'll look a bit funny.
WHAT DOES Grey MARKeT MEAN?
Wow, you have to wait to be able to afford something. Why can't it be given away free? Fucking slant eyed Jews.
Mine looks about like this. Other watches are centered. Seems comfy as it is. Not gonna take the links apart for now.
Buying from someone other than an authorized dealer.
Yeah, right? the japs are the jews of the east
What are the best looking horsebutts here? Probably going to order 2 of 2 colours, maybe 3.
Where do you guys wear your watches?
>inb4 wrists
Obviously but where on the wrist.
Is there a general rule like not too near the hand.etc
On the wrist bone.
Get the basketball leather, to show that you are a real baller.
Well I'm gonna give it a try. Lets see how it feels.
And crown is towards the camera.
Behind the wrist-bone, at the narrowest point, where watches are meant to be worn.
People who complain about the crown of their watch interfering with their hand movement are either fat, or don't know how to wear a watch.
Depends on the strap.
Leather: tight above my wrist bone
Nato: looser but it mostly stays at my wrist bone
Bracelet: loose and it flops around all over the place.
You tried removing links
In my opinion the navy, natural (out of stock at the moment) and black are the best, but I hate reddish browns and I have a self interest in you making a Navy strap so take my opinion with a grain of salt.
Is this fine?
Wassup with the crown
I wear bracelets like that on purpose. I don't mean literally flopping around like sliding to my elbow or falling off my hand. But bracelets I like much looser.
What does Sup Forums thinks about the new colaboration between Casio and Hublot?
Will they triumph over more traditional watchmakers?
G-shocks are always so loud.. I find very few of them appealing.
Hublot doesn't triumph over much on it's own. I don't think they'll fare much better making a significantly more expensive and fragile g-shock with casio.
Unscrewed ?
Yeah no shit. That is fucking massive on that arm.
Idk the bezel makes the watch looks much smaller irl
A match made in heaven clearly
3big5u
Centered as fuck
>Implying this isn't obvious bait
i think it's called a joke
That's the issue m8. It's so predictable it isn't funny.
>mfw I'd like a better bait
Mr. Avocado, a little unrelated to the thread, but what do you drive?
A hundred grands joke?
Still funny though mr high level autism
New arrival, lads
>Tripfag
>with a watch collection so ugly he can't even post them to the watch threads he spends his every waking moment in
>calling anyone an autist
Laughing_Whores.jpg
>user
>doesn't even post picture of whores laughing
>being this autistic
It's like dumb and dumber in this thread sometimes.
i like it
Tldr spring drive
what do you call it when it has the minute numbers on the bezel?
>I hate reddish browns
YOU SHUT YOUR WHORE MOUF
I don't have watches
Can you post a pic of your magnet watch
He just said he doesn't have watches. Are you stupid?
magnet watch?
He thinks you're me. He's talking about the Eone Bradley, which uses magnets inside the case to move captive steel balls around tracks on the outside of the watch.
I was actually interested in the Bradley until I saw someone in the subway wearing it (I couldn't believe it; what are the odds). The case shape and lugs make it wear absolutely horribly.
How do you misread Nigger and Nine? kek
ID on this strap?
Anyway, I am thinking on getting
>Seiko SNZF17K1 - 192€
>Orient Blue Ray II - 220€
Thoughts?
The lugs are interesting, how they pivot on the case then again on the bracelet. I'm not sure why they're so long though.
One of the more annoying things is the pin-head size crown.
The hour and minute "hands" being in the wrong place is the most no-go for me, but the lug length and case height are pretty unfortunate.
It's like 11mm thick, about the thickness of a seiko 5. That guy just has a really small wrist.
Also that strap he is wearing is really causing the lugs to take an odd angle. They should fold down to prevent lug overhang on small wrists, but his strap is pushing them up.
How fucking tiny is that dude?
wouldn't the steel bearings fall out
magnets
oh, I found the guy when I searched him.
Dude makes Ariel Adams look buff.
As I mentioned above, they're captive.
forgot the image
Received this as a Christmas gift.
is this a real patek
V.2, pretty comfy.
My condolences.
...
It fits comfortably and keeps time, all I could ask of a watch.
Now THAT is a pretty Seiko. And it's a Seiko 5?? The strap really lifts that watchs
i seen it on a joblot of watches on ebay
The buckle is as big as the watch.
So fake I'm not sure why you even had to ask.
looks real to me bid $8000
42mm watches are a tad big for you. I've got a 7.25 inch wrist.
Try 38-40mm, it will probably fit you better.
There's nothing wrong with it. A little too big never hurt anyone.
Course not, but he was asking about the fit.
your right
sure thing
>It's not big enough unless it physically hurts you
here we go
Got this for $38 on Amazon
The DW5600E-1V is basically the F91W but better in every possible way
>but better in every possible way.
Except a F91W looks like a F91W. That just looks like a cheap g shock.
f91w looks like shit
Iconic shit though
But the 5600 is the classic G, they make a virtually identical $300 model that has more features and a stainless body under the plastic
is just being a terrorist
