>some thinkpads are equipped with intel optane memory. this is optaneal
There is literally not point having Optane memory at this point. It has the worst starting release of any memory as it requires decent sizes before it really kicks in with the speed benefits but instead you get a shitty 16GB or 32GB.
kaby lake was a mistake
the only windowns it supports is 10
it got me to finally make a total switch though
It's a sad state of affairs when "no bloatware" is a selling point.
>lastest intel tech forces me to change to win X
So.... How good is Rysen doing?
more pictures please
jesus christ these bastards feel no shame
Pay more not to get bloatware. Microsoft shill will defend this.
That's actually pretty awesome if they really have no adware/bloatware, never seen that before
what's to stop someone from just reinstalling wangblows 10 to remove their blaot
>this is optaneal
kek
>one display
>the keyboard isn't even mechanical
Literal garbage
>mechanical
mechanical keyboards are a meme. no real practical benefits except the clicking sound.
>they last longer
>no ghosting
>analog pressing instead of on/off state
>less typing fatigue
>longevity
>tactile feedback
Wonder if we can replace trackpads in older thinkpade with these
Exactly what I said. No practical advantage but it looks like you convinced yourself of the opposite. Good for you.
>less typing fatigue
How is this not a practical advantage
>lasts longer
>no ghosting is perfect for KB gaming
>the analog sensitivity can be great for some niche typing and some gaming
>some people just like the feeling of mechanical keyboards
How are those not practical advantages? i've ran through around 10 membrane keyboards in my life of constant use and i still fucking hate shit like ghosting or how you feel the gum-nipples become shit with time.
>less typing fatigue
It works opposite for me. I just can't use mechanical keyboards for more than half an hour.
>no bloatware
>has windows
Lasting longer is irrelevant. I'm using a non-mechanical since 2012. I would argue a mechanical is more delicate. Ask anyone who rage quits.
never has ghosting issues with non-mechanical.
analog sensitivity, never seen this used but ok.
feelings. yes, that's because it's 2017.
mechanicals require more effort to operate.
>I'm using a non-mechanical since 2012
I envy you. Membranes last 6 months to one year to me.
>never has ghosting issues with non-mechanical.
I game with the keyboard.
>Rysen
>not botnet
pick one
What's "ghosting"?
>mechanicals require more effort to operate.
Mechanicals come in many different types, some require practically no effort. Browns are easily equivalent to most other keyboards, I would say that my browns take less effort than my laptop keyboard, with the added advantage that I don't have to bottom out my browns when typing while on my laptop the keys bottom out practically instantly.
ghosting is not able mechanical or membrane. it's about the circuit design.
>Ask anyone who ragequits
How about they stop being a pathetic fucking baby?
Uuugggh god damn, I keep losing at CSGO! Better smash my keyboard! I've been playing competitive games for 10 years and not once has getting upset caused me to break anything.
When you press several keys at once and not all of them are recognized at the same time because they overload what the circuit can take and end up with some keys not being recognized or some keys being recognized much after you pressed them.
So how do i get rid of ghosting?
>able
about
>Ask anyone who rage quits.
How about visiting a psychiatrist instead?
>So how do i get rid of ghosting?
By a keyboard that isn't shit.
At least it's "pick your own botnet"
>Implying the MS signature edition is not loaded with bloatware anyway.
Obvious shill or satire, I honestly can't tell at this stage.
> "unnecessary" bloatware
Necessary bloatware, however, will be determined by the vendor.
> "being introduced to all Thinkpad"
> "Thinkpads are using to the Microsoft Precision Touchpad standard"
> "Lenovo has build in a protection"
> "redesigned from the ground-up"
> "as lasts year"
Back away from the meth, Herzig. Don't be too much an excite whilst type wordings to (you) blog.
But OP, Win10 IS the bloatware!
>both are a little bit thinner, lighter and smaller
>the T570 has lost some bezel at the sides
It's too late, the disease also reached the Thinkpads.
AMD won't support Ryzen on anything older than Win10, either.
Honestly, microsoft pushing laptop manufacturers into not including bloatware is actually great.
Great for microsoft too, since all the garbage bloatware on laptops is yet another reason people buy apple laptops.
>Classic ThinkPad models
>not actual classic/retro model
I propose Benjamin Herzig be publicly flogged and humiliated.
Those chink brand laptops have rootkit in uefi, I am pretty sure the ad is a lie.
>still no thinkpad classic
>no ghosting
No ghosting is not the same as NKRO. Rubberd dome keyboards can be NKRO and mechanical keyboards like the Model M are not NKRO.
The fact doing so requires fucking registry hacks and PowerShell to remove half the junk.
Will the average Tommy Minecraft know what PowerShell is?
>I have never used a mechanical keyboard
Unless you specifically mean laptop mechanicals which kinda suck, yeah. If you've ever compared a Cherry desktop board to a similarly priced squishy desktop keyboard though, either you have frostbite and no feeling in your fingers or you're trolling
One of the best parts of mechanical keyboards is that you can have textured keycaps that don't get slick or shiny for a while.
>AMD won't support
You mean M$ won't support
>not installing loonix and using KVM pci-passthrough for installing Win10 in a VM with all network traffic controlled
git good
>Run a dummy windows 10 VM
>Snatch all IP traffic from idle machine
>Reapply that to block a Windows 10 active VM
I still don't trust it but there are ways to significantly unfuck privacy.
Hey at least it's available for the consumer market.
>Up and down keys next arrow keys.
>No back and forward buttons
Dropped
>That common whore hinge
"Classic thinkpads"
Though I'm a big Thinkpad fan, I'm never gonna buy a new one unless they bring back dedicated volume buttons and the browser navigation next to the arrow keys. Especially the navigation keys are one of the strongest argument for Thinkpads (at least to me). I use them all the time and couldn't live without them on any device that doesn't have a real mouse.
if you're willing to install Windows 10 in a VM for light Windows tasks you just can't live without, why not use Windows 7? I use a Windows 7 VM for ripping Blu Rays and converting some Audible audiobooks to MP3 and it works just fine.
Because it won't support the new features of Ryzen and Kaby Lake.
of how much use will these features be if Windows runs in a VM? I can understand why you wouldn want Windows 10 if you're installing it directly on hard drive but in a VM this shouldn't matter that much
The biggest cons of W10 are the telemetry/spying/botnet "features". If you run in a VM you can block everything so why not install W10? You have more features and better performance.
From my personal experience Windows 7 runs way better in VM. Windows 10 isn't remotely as lightweight and I haven't come across any new feature in Windows 10 that I actually care about. Also I don't like how it looks.
The only Thinkpads worth getting are T420 and T430
>Microsoft signature prevents bloatware
Too late motherfuckers! You should have had to think about before you used super fish.
>Lelnovo not even once
>T430
shit keyboard
the hardware makes up for it
what, a slightly new procesor?
No. The advantage in performance over the T420 doesn't justify the decrease in keyboard quality. Also, not only the T420 is worth buying. The X220 is lit as fuck. Best laptop I've ever had. Maybe even best mobile device I've ever had.
>t. mactoddler harping on year old news that was fixed before he ever even heard about it
Forgot pic.
>using Windows on a Thinkpad
>actually using Windows
>on a Thinkpad
oh no, St IGNUcius! SAVE ME FROM THE HERETICS!
>less typing fatigue
A mechanical keyboard is more harmful for your hands than an ergonomic rubber dome keyboard.
It's valuable to keep bringing it up. That was a very novel way of compromising systems, and most people could be made to understand how it could be bad for them.
>Kaby lake
Why not just use skylake baka
>2017
>STILL doesn't use macOS
>STILL buying decommissioned crusty 6 year old ThinkPads of eBay
Do you hate yourselves or are you just poor?
I refuse to upgrade my x100e until lenovo makes some AMD powered thinkpads
