I've deleted my entire music library and now I don't know what to listen to. Programming without anything playing in the background feels like a chore.
What does Sup Forums listen to when programming?

DUDE SYNTHWAVE LMAO
Faggots need not apply.
Lately I've taken to listening to bossa nova, thought typically I listen to classical, hiphop beats, or podcasts.
youtu.be
st matthew's passion, I've listened to it so long I can recite it. it also ruined my taste for other music, I can't stand anything other than 2 hour long bach compositions ever since.
If you're not into that then try 80's japanese pop, it's pretty cool
Soundtracks. Mr Robot or The Martian have good ones
Narcos soundtrack
i'm serious
I mostly listen to ambient, made my own playlists with songs from aphex twin, squarepusher, yung sherman, autechre, white armor, and other artists that I like
I really like aphex twin SAW I and II also (if you want some good albums)
you're mom sucking my cock
i program in c++ btw ;)
youtube.com
I just listen to bleep bloops.
Go to a torrent site. Search "Beatport". Download top 100 for whatever month you want.
Program you're own music.
Interesting. I'm from the Bossa Nova country myself. :`)
Mind recommending some podcasts. I was thinking of listening to just that but I don't any good ones (never listened to a podcast in my life).
>If you're not into that then try 80's japanese pop, it's pretty cool
And what would that be, is it like Shibuya-kei (Cornelius, etc.)? I'd love some examples.
My negroes, I also listened to soundtracks and ambient music mostly. Anything with vocals quickly becomes distracting and counterproductive.
Let's check it out.
I can recommend systemAU and third world linux. Both are heavily focused on linux, but systemAU more often than not ends up discussing tech in general. Third world linux, well it isn't the most 'well done' podcast that exists; as a result often becomes a conversation between the two hosts about whatever the fuck they want to talk about.
Nonetheless, they're my tech-related favorites.
blank banshee and clams casino. i like music that's ambient enough that i can tune it out but with a beat that's interesting enough that i don't get sleepy.
Jazz and shibuya-kei for maximum comfy
Lainchan radio
I've been listening to the Stranger Things soundtrack. It's pretty good, but the songs are a little short, so it gets a bit distracting.
I listen to this one mostly goo
。gl「 slash」0fmmEE

This one is my all time favorite.
I used to listen to it while writing C when I started out.

I don't program. When I draw I listen to Led Zeppelin or Megadeth. Sometimes music I get from Sup Forums share threads.
(not even) entry-level garbage
try black tambourine and grass widow they're tweepop u will like
I listen to music that I like but not my favorite music, so that I'm energized but not distracted. Music I like is a very broad category, there's electronic music in there, there's rock, there's blues....
Why don't you just listen to whatever you listened to before?
>Programming without anything playing in the background feels like a chore.
It sounds like you're not much of a programmer, but then again I don't think you would get distracted like me, so who am I to talk?
Stuff by feint is quite good.
Anything by CoMa, Veela, Marduk, Ne Obliviscaris or Blood Stain Child.
If you want something chill go Nujabes and youtube.com
I don't know, will reply more if I remember some good songs.
soma.fm, they even have a programming channel
Crystal Castles
I'm a millennial hahaha
Good shit, glad I discovered it.
I listen to chiru.no while programming
I love this, thank you.
Fruitloops my nigga
I compose my own shit. Feelsgoodman
I usually stream from di.fm on big beat channel or goa/psy channel.
I dare anyone who codes not to enjoy that.
My life suddenly become better. I am felling not alone.
If you are sentient being listen to bulgarian dance music and/or youtu.be

youtu.be

1995 electronic sound
you need psytrance
Neutral Milk Hotel you pleb.
Entry level hipster garbage.
Style points for working on a FOSS project while listening to Communist Daughter though.
It's the best album ever made. Don't dare to insult Sup Forumspicks.
Post-rock

hardbass
Medieval and Renaissance when I want to relax. Baroque or Death Grips when I'm in rush. When I only need some background music, I just play something nice, like Captain Beefheart or Radiohead or something like that.

Deep House, Chill, Tropical mostly
Prodigy - Smack my bitch up
My personal favourites:
>Aphex Twin
>Autechre
>Squarepusher
>Debussy (suite bergamasque is my favourite)
>Bach
Or just music from chinese cartoons I like.
Can't you recover it?
I would love to listen to music when I program but I keep losing my train of thought because most of my music tells stories and I get into them so I focus almost entirely on the song. Shit sucks.
Try getting into ambient music.

Also, I find goldberg variations also helps me concentrate on what I'm doing.

How can you stand this?
I don't know how you don't listen to bleep bloop music while you tip tap at a keyboard. I bet you don't even wear a black hoodie while you program either you fucking pleb.
Ouça a "Os Cariocas".
good taste desu
I like Crystal Castles too. Great artists.
Thrash metal mostly. Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer, Kreator, Lamb of God, Testament, Motörhead, Annihilator, Havok, Machine Head. Then also stuff like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Dio, Doro, Amon Amarth, Children of Bodom, Dimmu Borgir, Iced Earth, Led Zeppelin, Behemoth, Gojira, Moonsorrow, Kalmah, Mors Principum Est ...
listening to music while working is literally trash tier.
I've somehow managed to get my spotify discover weekly to be perfect programming music
future funk
it's also called "french house" by old fogies who think anything that sounds similar has to be the same genre
it's 2017, each song has its own genre nowadays
I'm not going to try and get into something that will die in the next 2 weeks
So, how can you concentrate on anything, really?
Is there anything worse than synthwave? Besides gospel, I mean
...
Deep house and techno seem to help concentration when I am programming.
Yeah, I can think of a few things.
Lo-Fi Punk comes to mind.
I'm not that big of a fan of the whole synthwave thing, but those two Hotline Miami tracks are the shit, especially Hydrogen.
The guy who made them, M 0 0 N, hated Hydrogen though, found it was the worst track he created.
Listen to Kmart 199X cassettes, it's fucking god tier.

Actually it helps me to be more productive because I don't get bored. I dont think about code in a way most people do. I visualize how I put my code together. I barely use google, I shoot code like a machine gun.
