>ubuntu 14.04
>dist-upgrade
>800Mo
>fuck it, ctrl-c
>apt-get update && upgrade
>log out X session
>"ubuntu 16.04" home screen
>what the fuck

I don't know right now desu

>tfw mint users have to prove their distro isn't an insecure piece of shit

Debian with Hemorrhoids

Here, have a (You). Now GTFO.

openSUSE leap 42.2 with plasma desktop.

>pclinuxos
radical.

Manjaro LXDE

how is opensuse doing? Tried it back in 05-06 but wasnt convinced. Mayby I'll give it a try ...

When booting you should choose older kernel in Grub screen.
Gentoo

Slackware

>ctrl-c in the middle of a fucking dist-upgrade
>surprised when it kernel panics

Right in the ARCH PELAGO bordering the XFCE OCEAN.

And it's got a beautiful view. And is incredibly efficient at getting my job done.

nah I know it's my fault but it didn't even begin, it was just prompting "800mb to be downloaded Y/n" so yeah I'm kinda surprised

>When booting you should choose older kernel in Grub screen.
it still panics

tells me it doesn't find init and kernel panics in both cases

imma try a boot from USB, downloading 16.04 from windows right now

The mistake was using 16.04 in the first place. Most unstable distro I've ever used. Any 16.04 base has been fine for me but 16.04 has always shit itself and died like what you're describing.

well the first version of leap was somewhat shitty, but they cleaned up their act pretty much with 42.2. No big issues so far, only kmail sometimes refuses to go online due to a bug.

>16.04
Either go 16.10 or stay at 14.04/14.10.
Completely ignore 15 as well because that shit is broken beyond repair.

but I didn't
I aborted the dist-upgrade and shit

Debian Sid with i3.

Oh right, you upgraded from 14.04 to 16.04?

Well either way, probably best to use a derivative like Xubuntu or Kubuntu or whatever instead of just regular 16.04 if you reinstall.

how is xubuntu or kubuntu a derivative, I use i3 anyway

debian sid with xfce and openrc.

Also with self-compiled 4.1LTS kernel because newer kernels cannot fuck up on this ancient laptop.

Fedora 24 with i3.

Going to wait a while before I consider f25 or otherwise.

>tfw still using 13.2
>tfw security support just ended

gentoo

Sailfish OS 2.0.4.14

Proud CRUX user.

I' lovin it

xubuntu/mate

Sabayon at the ready.

Arch + gnome

Gentoo

Running Antergos for about a year now. I really like it.

Do you use portage, and what gpu do you have?

Wrong thread.

Meme Hat

Debian Testing dual booted on a Chromebook. first time actually using Linux as a full time desktop OS, probably would use Manjaro though if it weren't for crouton only allowing Debian, Jewbuntu and fucking Kali

Windows 10

Windows 10 has Linux.

Solus and Windows 10 Pro Insider.

Arch Linux with Plasma 5

>Windows 10 has Linux
(You)

KDE Neon user here. Best KDE implementation I've used. It's pretty comfy.

Devuan mustardrace

Gentoo on my Laptop, Arch on my Desktop

Mint

Been using Antergos for over a year now and I haven't had any problems that people keep talking about when it comes to Arch or Antergos.

GNOME3 @ Ubuntu 16.04
I have VMs for many other distros though

Arch Linux with XFCE on desktop
Arch Linux ARM with dwm on laptop

I'll ctrl+z that bitch. Still fixed it.
>Tell me, Dave, is it cool with you.

I compile and use the linux kernel with busybox. The only way to work. No GUI bullshit. No GNU bullshit. Just pure Torvalds magic.

Does your system boot up in literally 1 second and take up less than 16MB RAM at startup?

dual boot,mint,kali.

>So close.
>not cinnamon
>at least you tried.jpg

Manjaro with XFCE

BunsenLabs Linux & Ubuntu w/ Cinnamon enviroment.

Installing gentoo on the desktop right now, opensuse on the ThinkPad.

Ubuntu LTS on my home server and laptop after many years of CentOS and Fedora. Not totally satisfied, but I think the uniformity and wealth of packages are growing on me enough to stomach unity. Gnome was already on my last nerve so not much urge to go back.

Arch + i3

Fedora

>tty
>separate computer for the handbook

Gentoo virgin detected.
You can install that shit from a livedvd with a terminal you don't have to use some minimal tty shit.

Ubuntu GNOME

am i the only korora guy on Sup Forums

>>Does your system boot up in literally 1 second and take up less than 16MB RAM at startup?
No. But that might be because I have more than 16MB RAM.

Fuck off gook.

korora isnt gook moron its a hybrid fedora distro

It was a joke because korora sounds like korea.

Creator uses a SouthPark avatar and their releases are Fedora releases packaged as "Sheldon" and "Gurgle"

I mean hey thats cool if you want to associate yourself with weeaboos that want to fuck Sheldon from big bang theory but most people will just use Fedora.

Debian, Fedora and OpenSUSE are pretty much the big 3 for me if I absolutely need to use Linux

Mint as well. Thoroughly enjoy it.

>mfw I just run it and don't give a fuzzy fuck what some faggot on the internet thinks about it, so I make no attempts to prove anything.

Arch
Openbox
dmenu
Yakuake

Ubuntu + Cinnamon.

The best distro of course

Installed KDE Neon last night. Liking it so far, was a good switch from Ubuntu Mate

MemePad X220 say hello

Linux Mint with Cinnamon. Love it.

Installed Slackware a few hours ago. Back to the roots after almost 15 years.

Solus

...

Debian with KDE

Solus.

Ubuntu 16.10 with Unity.

Unity is my favorite DE that I've tried.

piplub GNU/Linux

Mint 18.1 cinnamon

Xubuntu

Whonix

Fedora

No, but I'm about to switch.
I can't watch video files, it freezes my computer.
Guess I'll give ubuntu gnome a try.
I really hate gnome but it's the only DE that works well with Hi-DPI
