Is it ok to use Debian as a desktop OS?

Not really, just use Arch.

If it does not limit you in using it in a desktop OS, why not?

Yeah, it's good. It took me a bit of work to configure stuff (sound and touchpad mostly) but that could have been because it was early in the cycle for testing or because I did a minimal install and I was missing some important packages. If you do a default install of your favourite desktop environment it's probably fine. Stretch has gotten a lot more stable and polished and it'll be released in a couple months, so it's a good time to get pretty new software that won't change for a long time.

Yes this is exactly her.

what actual improvements does Arch have? I can customize just as much of debian and I don't have to worry about it breaking

Arch is blue though.
