What's honestly the point of upgrading to Windows 10?

Yeah sure because you can audit the source code of those updates right

Because it's not open source thus it has spyware. That's what linux users said to me.

W7 user here. SP1 + updates disabled. Everything works flawlessly and the OS basically does its job without bothering me.

Meanwhile using W10 is like using a badly coded tablet app with ads all over the place.

Other Linux users said that Windows is not open source so it has hidden skynet client. I don't know how to disassemble and check my internet traffic because I'm typical retarded Linux user but I believe to what other Linux users say.

None. WIndows 10 is a fucking joke. Garbage made for idiots.

Wich updates to avoid and remove?

Probably true then.

Don't bother updating at all if you don't have any driver issues or system crashing bugs that can't be fixed otherwise. It's not like you get a changelog and don't forget that it's a proprietary operating system after all, so there's not guarantee that anything actually gets patched.

no one audits foss code, truecrypt went without audit for years

DX 12 won't work on Windows 7. If you want to play the next generation of PC games you'll have no choice but to at least Dual-Boot.

>Updates disabled

Th-That's unsafe

Most games will support multiple DX versions, so 11 and 12.

How?

Y-Your system is unprotected

Thats only if you're an enterprise with a support contract you retard. Consumer support including bug fixes ended years ago.

You are retarded.

thanks
the only 2 i had installed were KB2952664
and KB971033

but he's right, good job femanon.

You know there is this thing called Quality Rollup which is different from the Security-only Rollup, right?
>inb4 calling Microsoft support coldline for problems

I like playing Forza Horizon 3. Can't get that on W7.

I haven't seen a whole lot of games that supported more than one dx version and dx12 is a lot more difficult to just port over that with previous iterations.

A better answer would be "pray to lord all mighty Vulkan gets better support than OpenGL did."

Checking out how shit dx12 is

>the point of upgrading to Windows 10?
touch? if you ever get a job maybe you can afford a tablet.

security? great for compliance (if you ever get a job)

speed? this is more of a productivity thing. again, job.

Come to think about it most people on Sup Forums dont really need a computer even. Just go play with toys.

BF1

I want to get a fresh, clean, and updated (without telemetry and bloats) windows 7. what should I do to get that perfection?

>touch

>buy Windows 7 CD
>install Windows 7
>turn updates off
>only install security updates and service packs

>implying ChinkPad owners use Windows 10

What security? The damn thing's backdoored to hell.

lol windows fanboys

just use what you need and stop trying to boastfully defend your decisions

I use Free/ Open/BSD on two machines, Gentoo Linux on 2 others [1LAPTOP;1DESKTOP], Arch on my Latitude e6410, Win7 on my main games desktop, Win3.1 on my Sattelite, Win8.1 twice on two other laptops, yadda yadda and so on.

Could go on about my micromachines/pi's, but my point is, use what you want to use, don't be a rowdy tard about it by attempting defense tactics lmao

>ads all over the place

I keep seeing people say this about Windows 10. What gives? I've literally never experienced this.

That being said I basically never upgrade. I only plan on doing so if MS rolls out a better file explorer.

>propagating bad sheever on all boards
Nice tats, degenerate.

That doesn't mean that the operating system isn't secure, and there's no proof that there is a back door into the OS.

Just download the simplix pack over at

forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/45005-Simplix-Pack-to-update-Live-Win7-System-Integrate-hotfixes-into-Win7-distribution

It has about 201 of the important updates and skips the telemetry updates. Just pirate the iso from somewhere(while doing hash checks) and run the Daz loader, turn off updates, run the simplix pack and that's it.

It does not wotk with 6/7th gen Intel processors so is useless for me.

>>games perform just as well

Not based on benchmarks. See The Witcher 3.

It does. You only can't use some power-usage related settings on laptops.

Why pirate the ISO?
Can't you get it straight off Microsofts website?

Yeah you can.
microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows7
Needs a key though.

Wasn't there some universal key for Win7?
