I get this but my boss (who is a she) said it was covered under warranty. Meaning no money. Just work for me to deal with. And also she's not the main person who runs the company, there is the owner. But she primarily handles management and accounting and is in no way a tech. I felt her diagnosis was lackluster due to not understanding what was going on.
My goal was to help her get her open windows over onto bookmarks and bill for that. That never happened however.

Honestly its an aesthetic choice. Both computers are nice though. I enjoy how clean the mac air looks even though it only has one port. The minimalist look and very nice screen only bring the selling point home. Plus those units don't feel flimsy at all whereas an ultrabook would. See I have a performance system and it's a windows with virtual machines to run on... so I don't have any issues with performance. It's just an aesthetic choice at that point and as a web developer you don't need a super powered rig. Just something light.

Maybe it's just a case of PEBKAC because for me it's worked completely without issues. I guess this is the thing with Apple products, for most people they work seemlessly, but for some they just don't.

iTunes really doesn't integrate with anything other than iProducts so you need to use other software to move music and videos over to other devices. Music you buy off iTunes does come in standard formats and are stored in your Music folder and can from there be used by the software for non-Apple music players and the like.

That sounds like a bug, but I don't use iPhoto to begin with and just sort them as files the old fashion way. iPhoto has as far as I'm aware never been all that great and if you need something more involved than sorting things the old fashion way, there's always Lightroom and Apeture.

So every time I go into disk inventory x there are 2 folders. Some sort of weird backup folder and then the folder for photos that you see. They are usually very similar in size if not the exact size. You can't delete the backup ones either because it glitches out iPhoto. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but it is if you have a small ssd.

I was in a similar position when a customer brought in an early ipad. It was slow so I did what I always did. Rebooted it. Turns out the customer had a shitload of tabs open and some of those contained logged in sessions with certain websites she didn't care to remember the passwords for.

I mean I can tell you for general usage computing both choices are not bad choices. Personally I probably would get the air only because it is more solid and aesthetically pleasing. But the reality is both the XPS ultrabooks are also pretty lackluster in their performance due to having to make them so thin. Sure the performance is better but you have internal moving components, parts that go bad easily. Why go for power when obviously if you wanted power you wouldn't use a laptop at all.
