Anyone else here /UMPC/?
I've got an OQO 02 I'm trying to put Windows 7 on, but it's giving me this error.
I've tried multiple ISO's and usb drives, but i keep coming back to this screen.

turn off eufi and secure boot
There are no uefi/secure boot options to find in the BIOS.

You're trying to install Windows 7 on less than 1GB of memory?
I tried turning my VRAM down to 8MB, didn't work either...

Trying to boot a linux live USB drive results in a white blinking cursor on a black background.
Sounds like you didn't use the correct MBR on the USB drive. What tool did you use?
For Windows I tried Rufus, the official usb downloader tool and diskpart.
For Linux I used unetbootin.
I've delt with a few UMPCs and some other devices with shitty install support
The best solution I have found specially for Win 7 and up
Use macurium reflect
make a VM or find another computer with similar architecture at lease correct amd or intel and install windows load in correct drivers for device your trying to install to best you can
image the device with Macurium and restore with bootable usb to UMPC
Windows should be able to handle moving to different hardware as long as most basic of the drivers work and don't cause a blue screen
If the device doesn't have drivers for that windows version use Snappy Driver Installer to try to find the rest of them
I just made a brand new USB installer from an ESD ISO, and now the thing just reboots indefinitely when it tries to access it.
Try NetBSD. That shit runs on toasters.

Get the i386 USB image.
If you are on Windows, you can try something like this to write the unzipped image to the flash drive:

I've never used this tool, though, so I don't know if it works.
I'm trying to install Windows 7 here.
But why?
It's almost guaranteed to run like shit - provided you actually manage to install it first.
Why not try the path of least resistance and use a lightweight Linux or BSD?
I don't mind it being slow. I can't sell this running Linux.
If you're planning to sell it then just put the original OS back on it.
I tried. I made an ISO image out of the recovery disk and burned that to a USB drive. That got stuck on a loading step.
Use a USB CD/DVD drive?
Don't have one. Could that really cause it? :/
Use rufus for linux too, don't bother with unetbootin. It works for both
Google "0xc000000e"
Also did it work correctly before? Maybe the hardware is just fucked. Try disabling some devices in the BIOS
Also just try another USB stick
