i didnt come here to feel user, delete this

Good ol' muvo ;_;

>fm radio and line-in recording
>backlight that pulses to the music

I had this one as well. It was my first mp3, before that I had 2 walkmans. Never had discman or whatever those things were called.

I didn't have that one but I had something similar looking. It had 32MB of memory and accepted a smartmedia card if you wanted more than that.

Also it took AAA batteries, which was fucking nice, because it was easy to just buy a four-pack of NiMH rechargeables and keep them with you. Battery dies? Pop in a new one. I'm still salty over the rise of Li-ion and custom battery form-factors.

I was the coolest kid in highschool when i got one.

...

Kids with iPods couldn't comprehend I could play any file format under the sun and had a color screen.

Some iPods had rockbox support too

I really wanted pic related. I knew my parents wouldn't get it because they never ordered things online and it wasn't in any of our stores. I asked for an "mp3 player" and this is what they got.

images.sonicelectronix.com/images/1414704/main/LS-mzn420d-RB.jpg

I was disappointed but tried to act like I liked it. My sister told my dad and he offered to take it back to the store. He said the clerk told him that was an mp3 player. I felt like I would hurt his feelings if I told him to take it back so I kept it.

It's kind of cool but trust me it won't get you laid in middle school.

also, if it's not clear: that's a mini disk player in the link

The MuVo's design was brilliant desu. Lasted for years; if it had more space I might still use it because fuck touchscreens, lockscreens and music apps that try to do everything besides just play some fucking sound.

Did anyone else's MuVo output a subtle high-frequency whine when the backlight was on?

XS200/XS202 was goat in the early 2000s.

All the rich kids had these

I still had a Nokia 8250

Had this, then the GX20 when it was released

My mum bought me this, I could fit maybe 12 songs on it.

She also refused to throw it out recently because it looked valuable.

pre-android samsung phones were fucking terrible

I remember having a chink mp3 player well after ipods got good and converting family guy episodes to an obscure codec using some software I found online that probably had a virus.

...

Wish they still made this

There's tons of MP3 player sticks for around $10 available. With about a hundred times the memory.

...

I had the first muvo with 32 or 64mb of memory.

Then I had that white version, it could fit like 20 songs.

I swear my ipod touch with infinite free podcasts and apple music/spotify is awesome

CYBIKO. When was that? 2001? I would go to the YMCA and pray that someone near me would connect. Nobody ever did..

I know it's a little more current but I can't believe it's been nine years since I went and picked this beauty up from Radioshack. Nobody I knew had a smartphone for at least a year or two after Android came out.

Samsung's semi-dumb phones were fine. Especially the clamshell designs. Nokia couldn't seem to make anything competitive at lower price points that wasn't a rehash of their classic candybar design.

I agree that even Symbian was better than Samsung's pre-Android OS efforts, though.

At this time I thought they where amazing

But when you look back ...JUST

I loved this thing even while my brother had a 2gb mp3 player. Then some assholes stole it out of my P.E locker

moving gently towards circlejerk territory

>1. Post tech only you had
>2. P-post c-cool tech from that era

3 will be a retro circlejerk and we go nowhere again for 5 months before another mass psuedo migration.

Only you can prevent retro circlejerking on Sup Forums. Sage the thread now, before it starts up again.

Cozy and warm. My own mixtape and FireRed

CYBIKO MOTHERFUCKER

I remember you had to run some janky ass software on your PC (didn't it need Cygwin?) and wire it up to use the shitty web browser on it.

Can't remember what I actually did with it.

we had two of those exact mp3 players in our household but both of them eventually had it's 3.5mm jack die, but damn it was so nice.

iriver! my nigga. I had this bad boy. fucking loved it.

>rocked a second hand dell latitude d610 my dad brought back working as a public school janitor and a walkman cd player well into 2012 due to being a tremendous poor fag.

Things are much better now and I got my own "battlestation" but holy fuck I'm not going back to that shit.

40gb

These threads are pathetic. Either you weren't there to know how garbage that tech was or you are a desperately pathetic loser who is trying to sound wise to kids who shouldn't be on this website anyway.

My first mp3 player, used it till the wheel button gave out. Thanks for the feels op

i still have one~

its still perfect for exercise, the only real limitation is the memory

...

Fug. I was just thinking how amazing it was that none of my stuff was stolen at school.

m8 of mine even used to bring in his gamecube, good times.

...

...

...

I had one of the first gen Dell mp3 players, it was called a Dell DJ or some shit, before iPods was popular or relevant. I then had a iPod touch when nobody in schools had a smart phone yet
Good times

Nokia N900 (Still have it)

/ihaterecatcha

...

This fucking thing got me through my middle teen years.

>Oni
Does it run?

Easily.

...

Mini disc > mp3 at the time

Fite me.

...

I loved this thing as a kid

God damn, son, you hit me right in the feels and I wasn't ready for it :(

brb buying a used one on amazon

Holy fuck I forgot I owned one of those.

I.. I HAVE to find it.

...

I had this exact one, but it was fully black and 1 GB.

At the time 99% percent of all cell phones in Sweden seemed to be Sony Ericsson, I assume Nokia had a similar position in Finland.

It had two screens and a case with extra battery that made it look like a flip phone. Pretty neat, but I could never change my ringtone because it had to be stored on the internal memory which it never let me transfer anything to no matter what I did.

i still got mine with a crack on it.

MuVo is my only MP3 player that has survived all these years of abuse.

>can survival -25°C
>can survival +25°C
>can survival underwater
>can survival countless drops and sit on's
>can survival military training
>can survival dog attacks

512mb memory limit can be annoying, but still i use it weekly.

Name those devices, fám

...

You sound like a little bitch.

Let's start from the far left and go from there. If you have any questions about this UMPC, just ask as it's my collection.

Sony VAIO PCG-GT3/K
Sony VGN-U71P (Own 2 units)
Sony VGN-UX380N
Sony Picturebook PCG-C1VN
Samsung Q1
OQO Model 02
Toshiba Libretto W105

Is there a thing that muvo can power besides the attached unit?

You're living in Berlin, right?

>Toshiba Libretto W105
>someone actually bought it
Tell us about your experience with it please

Got made fun of for being the only kid in the neighborhood with a Mac. And now everyone's got them Apples.

Toshiba Libretto W105

Short Answer: Not worth it unless you have a lot of money to waste.

Long Answer: It's an interesting UMPC but have few flaws which kinda ruin this unique portable computer.

Fan is nosy and get very loud if you try to use it like surf the web or watch video. Even if you turn off everything, it still audible. Would recommend to use a headphone (or sound cancel earbud) if you try to watch video on it.

Battery life is average (2-2.5 hours) which is okay for a UMPC....if you don't try to use it too much. I guess it might get worst if you try to push this little portable computer.

The touchscreen keyboard is something I am not too fond with but it's workable. The standard keyboard format might be okay if you put the computer on a table but the custom one they have is more useful when typing (make sense when you consider the size of this thing).

Using Win 07 OS which isn't the best OS for this small size but it's work fine for what it can be done. Was consider to try to install Linux as I heard it can be done but never really go through.

The screen is actually nice to use and how it's design, make it a nice digital book reader or surf the web. Just wish the battery last a bit longer.

I think that's all I can say about it. I use it for 6 months on and off and have to put it aside in storage. Just wish they is a way to control the fan but it have to be on no matter if you want the computer not to overheat. Now, if you can get it cheap, then go for it but as what the current price they're selling in the used market, I will avoid it and just go for the older Toshiba Libretto as it's more useful than this one. This is just to show off what new technology they can squeeze into this small laptop.

my nigga, as soon as Android 2.3 came out and I was using the SD card for swap space because it had no RAM then it had to go.

I need a phone with similar specs to an S5, with IR, a keyboard, and a micro SD slot, WHY is that so hard?

Sorry but you need to be over 12 to view this website. Please leave.

Cry moar, faggot.

Dell DJ was waaaaaay after iPods became popular or relevant, and were Dell's failed attempt and taking a slice of the market.

about 2003 i had a CD mp3 player.
nobody had mp3 players.
most people had CD players.
the cool thing about this CD mp3 player was the clear cover.
the CD player would scan the song...and then stop spinning. that was so cool.
i bought that at a pawnshop for 20 bucks.

I had the old 1Gb model. My dad still uses it as his music player. Nothing much simpler than a USB drive with no extra software bullshit and a standard size battery.

I had one of these I used to record my own radio shows with friends, then I used it for porn for my 360 after I got an iPod Video

Works as a Gameshark, can't save games though

Sony Clie PEG-T415
>Sexy PDA. B&W. A couple weeks later, Sony released a color version, so I returned it and got...

Sony Clie PEG-T615
>One of the most sleek and stylish PDAs of its time IMHO. Only flaw was it had weak reds. They fixed this issue with the T665, but that had the drawback of worst battery life. I kept this until I upgraded to the...

Sony Clie PEG-TH55
>Not quite as sleek, but that's because it had all sorts of features that poked out here and there. Favorite PDA of all time. Used it until it no longer turned on.

Sony made some of the best PDAs of the era.

depends on the ratio of niggers at your school

The Samsung Dual Flip was fucking GOAT.

Not him, but biggest drawback for dumbphones was the shitty software more so than shitty design.

Power rank for pre-android phone OSes:
Sony Ericcson > Motorola > Nokia > LITERAL SHIT > Everything else

what a waste of a condom

...

>underage

>busted clip
I know that pain

BlackBerry's missing from your list. I can't compare it to the rest but it's definitely above LITERAL SHIT

...

PIECE OF SHIT
O
S

Did you find any one of these useful/worth it over a PocketPC or a small laptop?

Ungrateful faggot son /spit

"because those are all weird chink things to need. costs too much money. people want shiny portable app(tm) machines" -phone manufacturers

Galaxy S7 with this atrocity and a headphone jack IR emitter seems to be the closest you could get

Thanks for reminding me, I had the model before that, without a screen.

Pretty sure an assload of people had these.

I have 2 for 2-player head-to-head gaming.

Rich kid general?

>tech only you had
>posts a console that shipped more than 9 million units

this is what happens when parents don't get their autistic kids exposure with the outside world. they think everything in their life was unique and special.

Do you remember pic related or compiling this bastard: ifp-driver.sourceforge.net/?

>when you have to catch the bus but you only have a three seconds buffer

Didn't this shit have a buffer?
