Why would i need Ccleaner?

bloated trash

Windows

Stupid but serious question, what's the point of 7zip/Winrar if you can just right click>extract all. What do these zip programs offer? Never used one nor felt the need to.

Irfanview, Wondershare video editor, Cover, Fotor

why would you ever do that to yourself?

MS Paint

Ccleaner is actually pretty useful. I think you mean TuneUpUlities

...

notepad++

a) Support for tar.gz, tar.bz2, 7zip, peazip (in case it's PeaZip) and so on.
b) Zip actually supports quite a range of packing/compression methods and while some of those are memes created by WinZip quite a lot of them aren't supported by the explorer extractor but can be encountered in the wild.
This can be a problem if you get a zip file from a non-windows OS.

Now that Win10 is neutered for DVD playback, I go with VLC, but I know how triggering that is here.
Can't think of much else, I don't use Windows for much else but for games.

depends on what you want to do with it, if you just check facebook and watch youtube i would say firefox (if that, some people can handle IE)

For me, Steam, VLC, Atom, Daemon tools and Photoshop are pretty must have

Gpg4win

>ctrl+F
>everything
>zero results

you poor little faggots

Bonzi buddy

Everything is a must for me

>not knowing your files

Sandboxie I guess.

sometimes I dont know
and sometimes I just want to get to places in 2 seconds instead of being retard like you who opens explorer and start doing 20 clicks to get somewhere

>not seeing the utility of a good search function

>bloated
the debugger is great

Agent Ransack is far better

common sense 2017

Can you send me a download link?

>and sometimes I just want to get to places in 2 seconds instead of being retard like you who opens explorer and start doing 20 clicks to get somewhere

user, there is that one time in a year, and that one time in a year I might as well just use the retarded win search

rick_astly_never_gonna_give_you_up.mp3.exe

you seem to believe a search is only useful when you don't know where your shit is

Good taste in games, user.

Roguekiller is my must have, a portable anti malware as it's name suggest

lets put my old ancient tray in here
I ascended to linux since then

it saved my files from ransomwares 3 times a few years ago (when I was browsing warez with the old unsecured but highly ergonomic opera on win7 and 8)

Geek Uninstaller
qBittorrent
7-Zip
WinCDEmu

not really a software but usefull when you have a new shit : ninite.com
you pick the softs you want and voila

That's because it is, if you organize your crap properly.

Here's what actually is going to happen:
>Me typing p in explorer and press enter, project folder opens
>press first letter of project folder name plus enter
done, in 200 ms max, because I'm no keyboard cripple

>(You) start typing "gay_men_3.divx" but it's actually "lots_of_dicks" so not even levenshtein can correct this.
>think again, time passes
>correct mistake
quite longer

...

7zip lets you right click -> extract to new folder xyz instead of dumping all the contents into the current directory. And it's faster than opening a whole new menu and shit. And it supports all formats you will probably ever encounter on windws.

That's what I like about searching: it makes the old paradigm of meticulously organized files and folders irrelevant. Less time spent stamp collecting and more time to do productive things.

Ninite is amazing

Calm down edgy

StableBit Scanner
WinRAR
Discord,
Chrome for Business,
Notepad++
Paint.net
Steam/Battle.net
WinDBG
PushBullet
Flux,
Windows Server Essentials Client Connector software

Fuck that.

I have a domain controller at home.

I just push via group policy, and I have WDS images setup with everything just the way I want.

>it makes the old paradigm of meticulously organized files and folders irrelevant.

this activates my almonds

What about GOG Galaxy?

>WinRAR
costs too much money

I'm gonna sound like such a retard but what app are you using to search through everything?

Dont pay attention to them man, VS is amazing. One of the main reasons I havent switched to linux

>GOG Galaxy?
I mostly play Blizzard games, honestly. Overwatch, Diablo 3 and heroes of the storm.

The few other games I play are purchased via physical medium, so I don't really have to worry about DRM.

*It costs money.

FIFY.

That said, I purchased a license for it like a decade ago. Why would i stop using it now?
And RAR5 is fantastic.

Literally "Everything".
That's the name of the search program.

Though, personally, I know where everything is, beacuse ... mild OCD.

your list is great btw

system32

what does TinyWall offer?

Oh. Well that makes sense, thank you.

Thanks!

I try to keep it light, because seriously, installing a whole bunch of things is really what bogs the system down. Since I stopped doing that, my systems have run fantastically.

Also, I don't run any antivirus, aside from Windows Defender. No need to, and I've not gotten a malware infection in years.

(I use Sophos UTM, and I have a dedicated "test VM" that is isolated from the rest of the network specifically to test out questionable downloads).

If you're not OCD, "Everything" is fantastic.

You can tell that page was written by FOSS Linux Lusers. Or is that GNU/Linux (hint: it's NEVER GNU/Linux)

Passive aggressive hate of anything that's not FOSS.

>Passive aggressive hate of anything that's not FOSS.

You realize where you are, right?

In the passive agressive capital of the internet. Yes, I know.

This is also "Technology". Not "FOSS Technology" or "Linux Technology".

There is plenty of paid software that is absolutely fantastic... And in many cases better than the FOSS alternatives.

I want to download some malware on windows, any recommendations?

for windows 7:
7zip
ungoogled chromium
notepad++
VS Code and/or Visual Studio
autoruns
fraps
ffmpeg
procexp
space sniffer
veracrypt
qbittorrent

for windows 10 (all the above plus):
glass wire
fiddler
classic shell
spybot anti-beacon
wushowhide.diagcab
winaero tweaker
gpedit.msc (for home)

2017 is out? I have the 2005 ver

Avast. BitDefender. Etc.

While masquerading as anti-malware, they're pretty toxic programs.

install gentoo

'05 is so bloated, just switch back to '95

have fun in your botnet :)

Have fun thinking that you're not running a botnet. :)

Could someone please provide me some links to download ransomware. I really would like to encounter one of these myself.

Seer is also good, but don't install it, it's made by some Chinese who install PuPs packaged with it. I wished Microsoft would implement Seer's features natively. Windows really needs a native preview feature like macOS when you hit spacebar on a selected file.
