Real devs use this.

Obese manchilrden use Arch, Emacs, and Lisp.

i use python and this kind of dichotomizing is childish.

C++, Atom, Fedora is my pick.

I use Vim, C and Ubuntu.
What am I?

Manjaro
Code:Blocks
Fortran 90

Where do I rank?

Gay.

Seriously Atom and Ubuntu?

PCLinuxOS
Lazarus
Object Pascal

r8 me

Nice, I heard fags are horny as fuck.
Might get off the wild ride to wizardry.

>tfw to intelligent too engage in bikeshedding over programming languages and Linux distros (which are basically a question of who do you trust to maintain packages)

Real devs use 0 and 1.
Obese manchilrden use anything else.

Vim (Used to like geany)
Ubuntu GNOME
C/C++

For pet projects/prototypes
Rust/Go

>using python seriously
It's like you hate performance

>using other languages seriously
it's like you hate leisure time

>Real X use YZ

Seriously post some real arguments.

>linux for mactoddlers
>bloated
>slow

emojicode is objectively the best language

I use Spyder for my Python-ing

KEK

I hate web "devs"

Why would you need to open large files?

Even for making the best games in the world like Yoshi Island, Megaman X and Mario 3 you wouldn't need to open large files.

ok NEET, you keep telling yourself that.

you don't even know

Python

Not using pycharm why?

Can you link some of your projects, commits?

the
fuck
did
I
just
read

This is your typical web "dev" right here.
0 understanding of actual development.

Most "real devs" use Windows 7 Enterprise, Eclipse and fucking Spring. You don't want to be one.

KEK, good one bro

I've seen their work,
40Mb jars, to move and rename some directories, where a few lines of bash would've sufficed.

>make a shell script to grep and pipe
>show boss
>why are we paying you 6 figures?

meanwhile:
>make a 40mb jar files with 100+ lines of code
>literally do the same thing
>show boss
>hmm looks complex, you must be a genius huh

do you even know how job security works?

>>why are we paying you 6 figures?
>because i write stuff that you'll be able to make sense of in 5 years. hire someone less qualified for less and, at best, you'll be rolling the dice.

why do i need to coach you people? why are you people not capable of coming up with this shit on your own? how do you guys keep your jobs with such poor personal skills?

>Most "real devs" use Windows 7

WHAT YEAR IS IT???

kek, you just reek of insecurities

My boss knows that every line of code deleted saves hours of work.

Our external consultant is paid by lines written it seems though. He does crazy stuff, like banging out mails via telnet.

Wow get with the times grandpa. Python, C# and Java are all gonna be the new COBOL, Full stack Javascript is the new shit.

...

>Real dev means OP

>Full stack Javascript
That sounds like the kind of shit that wouldn't even scale to ten thousand users.

stop with the samefagin', we noticed you were raped by a web developer back when you were 10 y/o.

Web devs didn't exist back when I was 10 because I'm not underage like you.

Real Programmers write in machine code. Not assembly. Raw, unadorned, hex. Directly.

the fucking horror

No, real programmers use a needle and a steady hand

>atom

what is that graph? Where does it come from, what do we read into it? ETC ETC ETC ETC

So many questions.

vim, Haskell, freebsd

r8

fuck you and each and every python faggot calling themselves programmers. Besides PHP its the worst fucking shit on this planet.

>dynamic typed piece of shit
>cant write 1 line without "self"
>worst stdlib ever
>fucking whitespace
>slow as fuck
>fuckton of missing features
>NO advantage above a real language

great fucking language boys.

>but muh libraries, muh beautifulsoup
All python programmers cant write fucking code for themself so they resort to retarded, slow libraries and call themselves programmers.

All python is good for is 2+2. More then that and you'd have to import numPy or SYmPy or some shit.

Enjoy writing shitty code in your shitty language.

In the trashcan.

that's literally me in that pic

>ubuntu + python
>not macos + atom + rails

Sure thing script kiddie

...

why would anyone use atom?
I mean who is the demographic that wants a slow text editor over an IDE or over a better text editor?

Web "devs" who don't really do any serious work, want to feel "cool" by using an editor written only in javascript. It's the only language they know. Makes them feel like they are worth something.

Also, their work load will never put any kind of stress on the editor whatsoever.

>they only know javascript
They could still use kate or something.
The backend is c++, but there is a javascript api which is meant to be used for plugins and stuff.
And kate is a lot faster, has the same features and is actually meant to be embedded into things, see kile and kdevelop.
I don't see what atom offers other than "it is like sublime, but free" which is retarded statement on its own as most editors is free.

Can't you be an obese manchild and a dev at the same time?

Python
Debian
Nano

r8 me || h8 me

C#
Visual Studio
Windows 10

The code itself runs slowish but I save myself hours each week by quickly being able to write scripts that automate parts of my job so who gives a rats ass?

Ubuntu
Python
Sublime/PyCharm

so fucking use image reverse search or just google the fucking caption of the graph..

so many questions when you are retarted...

Windows XP
Notepad
Logo

> arch
> sublime text, atom, nano
> Any programming language

You just think that you save time, but that is because the shitty compiler compiles code that should not.

is this bait?

I replace Atom for Sublimetext and I swap between Python and C. Works better for me.

>Wow get with the times grandpa
Back at you. Mongo is so 2012, RethinkDB is 2015 and today it's all about storing JSONB in Postgres. Do you even read HN?

Python sure, atom ok maybe, but os of choice especially on a personal machine is really just a decision of the people that own them. I use arch because I've used it for 2 years without a glitch, I backup religiously (would do this on any OS btw) and for me it just works.

Debian
Geany
Any programming language I want

Are you fucking kidding me? It's all about react now. Redux etc. are of course implied.

>It's all about react now.
That was in 2014. You mean Vue.js.

React is so yesterday, it's all about elm now.
I'm actually not kidding, I love elm

codecondo.com/7-good-reasons-to-use-mean-stack-in-your-next-web-project/
lol

Vue.js isn't anything new, it's basically just an alternative implementation of react

Nah, it is going to be all about Elm tomorrow (and web components after that). But now it's Vue.
But it looks more like Angular's templates and therefore is more designer friendly. Clearly.

Ok, I can almost agree with that.
Elm truly feels like the future, but I'm not so sure about webcomponents.
I love how they isolate css, but I'm not sold on how they deal with internal state.

I think my response already answered your subsequent questions.

all this buttmad for nonsensical graphs. I'm not going to research your research just to understand it fucktard.

Atom is poor man's Sublime Text

why is sublime suddenly the standard you wish to compare stuff to?
It is not even among the top 5 editors.

JK.. void, ruby, vim, pls no bully

question about manjaro.
Are the breaking update rumors true? How long have you been using it?

I'm using arch and never had a breaking update, but I heard manjaro is worse.

If not, can I recommend this to a linux beginner? Or is ubuntu still better for beginners?

The fuck?
Literally anything scales nowadays

You make it sound like scaling is a problem in 2017.

Hell if you're mega lazy you can even have Amazon scale for you, automagically.

pretentious tryhard

tfw I don't even know what's a meme anymore
fuck you Sup Forums

I've been using it since a year. I don't know about the rumors but I've recently -Syu my packages and got no problem with it. Manjaro worked perfectly for me, although I had to refresh my archlinux-keyring after I upgraded to linux49. I'd recommend it to a linux beginner over ubuntu for the sole reason that when you use Manjaro you learn the basics of Arch "without knowing" so you can migrate to that OS whenever you feel the need, and the documentation is huge.

Thanks, sounds good enough for me.
I'll recommend it to my friend then. And if he's got some problems I can probably fix them since it's mostly just arch

>playing identity politics with editors and programming languages like schoolchildren

>not mastering the largest number of languages you can while using different editors for different tasks

this is why Sup Forums stays talentless and unemployed
