Hey Lineagefags, how has your "new" OS been treating you? Does OTA work for you?

It werks for me, oneplusone.
But there as no daily builds, only weekly if I remember
Perfectly fine. And if the OTA doesn't work, just fish the downloaded ROM package from TWRP in /data/data/org.lineageos.updater/app_updates
I've been reading reports of all kinds of shit broken (most likely due to tons of duct taped root stuff, idiotic mods or extreme-edition-black kernels done by your average Pajeet) but
>works on my machine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
idk i use resurrectionremix which is based off lineage anyway :^)
no snapshot yet?
anoter shitty linux based ?
It's a shitty android rip off hacked together by pajeets
Why should one install RR instead of lineage?
T. CMfag looking to update
why did they take away the native root support from CM? I had to flash SupreSU
Is RR good? I'm using a lineage 7.1 beta build on my oneplus x.
I don't like the file system so I'm gonna have to change it to something else.
Thinking maybe downgrading it back to cm14.1 or RR. What're the pros and cons for both?
Yass. At least for apps anyway.
>Does OTA work for you?
What?
I'm guessing he means over-the-air updates but if it's like CM, they require some bullshit gimped recovery that overwrites TWRP
I disabled the application "Updater" altogether. People really use this?
I guess so. I mean it's fine if you don't plan on flashing anything else ever
>Giving people a choice on what root solution they want (or lack of it) is bad
btw, you have a flashable zip with their own root in their downloads page, "extras" section.
how is this more choice? they can leave the option (it was off by default) and let you use other root solutions anyway
The OTA works fine for me, even with TWRP.
Installed it on my sister's Galaxy Note 3 and it runs really well. The only complaint is that it doesn't pass safetynet and shit like snapchat doesn't work.
>snapchat does not work.
Good she would just use it to send nudes.
Well, leaving it off means the su binaries are not even installed so you that's a potential attack vector disabled if you don't need any root app. It also avoids tripping banking/finnancial apps that won't boot if they detect su/busybox binaries installed. Third would be, if you're going to use a third party root solution (SuperSU or Magisk) you don't have two versions of the binaries with two different implementations clashing over one another.
can you explain how you do it? Download the update then use TWRP to find it and manually flash? Or is there a way to do everything automatically and keep TWRP?
I'm asking because if I recall right CM required their own recovery to do it automatically
If I take the OTA then I think it just prompts me to install it when the download finishes. Then it reboots into TWRP, flashes the update, and reboots again.
that's great, I'm gonna use that
What theme is that?
N/Pixel Dark Substratum Theme
You can find it on the play store.
cheers, i bought ART/MONO & Magpie for substratum, art is really nice too but has funky status icons
Galaxy S4 with OctOS (custom build of lineage), everything, including OTA works perfectly fine.
MotoGfag here
Working like champ
7.1.1 without any issues until now
It's based AF, and yes OTA works fine, did 2 OTA's so far :) Only thing that doesnt work is encryption :)
I use RR it's based on Lineage and has far more features :)
My nigga, it's based af. desu
Such as?
Anyone running Lineage OS on S3 i9300?
crDroid (Lineage OS port) standing by!
Was just given an used LG Leon 4 free
Never had a smartphone before, because da botnet
Should I give this thing a try? The phone itself seems to be pretty bad
There are a lot of random pajeet roms for my phone (Zenfone 2 laser) : Resurrection Remix, darkNess reDefined (sound so eduy), Slim7, OctoOS, Pac-Rom, XenonHD, AOKP, AOSPC and so on...
Is someone interested that I test them all then post a "review" here?
nevermind, it looks like this phone isn't supported
Does the camera work? Video recording didn't work on first versions
I don't use OTA, I build my own zip because I have a couple small tweaks.
DOES XPOSED WORK YET
NO ;(
FUCK!
Everything except the fingerprint reader works perfectly for me. I can't add more than one fingerprint though.
OTA updates work flawlessly.
It's the same as CM really.
You're going to have to wait a few months until Xposed is on Nougat so if you want to use it I suggest that you use a ROM based on Marshmallow instead.
What Xposed modules are so good that you would use an older OS version because of it?
No idea, just saying that if you want to use Xposed then you're stuck with Marshmallow for a while.
Lineage 7.1 on oneplus3 here
Every time I boot into recovery it wipes my data partition and all my apps are gone.
So now I'm scared to update
Achso
The Apple iPhone™ 7s+ doesn't have this problem.
OTA on encrypted phone is broken
Weather providers are broken
Unifiednlp is broken (e.g. you must flash it via adb)
Signature spoofing is still disabled
Using a Samsung Galaxy SIII and it runs fucking awesome with this, everything is quick and snappy plus apps don't complain about being rooted.
1st gen Moto G here
Aside from very very little bugs, everything is working.
8.5/10
You are probably using f2fs, that shit is fucked up like everything else samsung is involved with.
The issue is not going to go away any time soon I think, it is just better to stick with EXT4.
Be sure to use an up to date version of TWRP, the latest official release (twrp-3.0.3-0) from twrp.me finally seems to work fine with LineageOS and EXT4 partitions.
It even decrypt encrypted EXT4 data without any issue.
You can backup applications in android using oandbackup if you have root and busybox installed.
Galaxy S3 (d2att) here.
Battery life is insane on the "Efficiency" mode, I've gotten 2.5 days out of my first full charge. It doesn't seem to be good at knowing charge levels (at least yet), it says 1.5 hrs to charge but finishes in less.
Performance isn't great. Pressing a button and getting a response sometimes takes a couple seconds, and the keyboard tends to stutter out if you type too fast.
Note, thought, that I do have OpenGapps Mini installed, so the phone is running Play Services.
I have yet to find something that isn't working (need to try Bluetooth, that's the last thing on my list).
Also, ditch Clockwork for TWRP, especially if you're using an encrypted install of Cyanogen (or Lineage). TWRP has a better design and layout and makes wiping encrypted partitions and reformatting an easy 1-click process.
It combines loads of mods and tweaks, and has its own control panel :)
second pic
This seems useful, but only until we get Xposed on nougat.
Bretty good running unofficial builds. Waiting on official builds.
Fellow quarkfag, why not RR? (also by bhb27)
Yeah, my Nexus 7 2013 handles 14.1 with multitasking and doze like a champ.
I still don't know why Google doesn't support their devices longer, the hardware was clearly good enough.
Xposed for 7.X fucking when? It's the only thing that keeps me stuck with CM 13.
I might as well wait for the next big exploit before I bite the bullet and switch away from android.
Android is pretty much garbage to begin with, but you never really appreciate how bad it is until you waste all that storage and time to compile it yourself so you can get updates.
The only option is to convince all humans to stop buying new phones so we can fix the software, but that is not happening.
What is the point in everyone doing the same idiotic job in parallel?
The only good thing about cyanogen was I didn't had to compile it myself.
Now that is gone I don't see the point.
Idk I just kinda picked one at random, this one works well and has lots of tweaks. I've never tried RR.
I'm a dumbass I got the theme how do I apply it ?
I'm also on 2-13-2017 Linage OS Official Clark
> (OP)
>anoter shitty linux based ?
They are all linux based
Anybody running lineage on a oneplus one?
How stable is it?
I'm running tugapower and it's stable enough to use as a daily driver, but I've convinced myself to avoid updating because of paranoia.
I'm just hoping that sultan kid gets outta school so i can get a sweet 7.1 sultansrom from him.
I definitly need the december downloads for my nexus 6p
Install substratum from play store and grant it root when it asks.
Then you need to apply the theme, and make sure you open up each drop down menu and select the right choice. There are some that if you don't select the right option the theme will fail to load.
works for me, even w/ TWRP
they will not enable signature spoofing
use Haystack for that while there is no Xposed
>Samsung Galaxy SIII
The original or the rerelease?
Nigger, you don't have to compile shit: download.lineageos.org
The original I guess? Or at least the GT-i9300 version
Well put. I use mobile banking all the time and baking root in is what puts me off most ROMs. Flashing Lineage without root is the best decision I made for my Nexus 5. Works great and the weekly OTAs aren't bad either. Saving for the OnePlus 4 now

Gravity box
Literally no upgrade for me until we have working Xposed on 7.0
Amazing Pepe
Same here
It's treating me better than CM actually. Everything werks and one of the bugs that killed my device's radio has been fixed.
Yet to try it out. Anyone here that has experience with LineageOS on LG G4 (H815)?
If cyanogenmod worked fine this will too.
Cyanogenmod has always worked amazingly good for me, I'll try LineageOS when I get home and have the time. Thanks!
it's like I'm really on cyanogen
>using the smiley with a carat nose
NewPipe solves your YT stuff, and GB is deprecated since 5.0 I think.
Gravity box has a separate module for marshmallow.
That's pretty much the only thing I really miss on nougat.
>NewPipe

It's still pretty good though
It's pretty good, on a Moto G4. Only issue so far is the torch/flashlight button in the quick pulldown doesn't work, but I installed a torch app that does.
LineageOS still has some proprietary components in user space (as well as the proprietary firmware that's pretty much unavoidable on most devices). Freecyngn is a simple script you can flash from recovery to remove some apps that depend on non-free libraries, but it doesn't seem to get all of them. But it does look like LineageOS is freeing some stuff that used to have non-free dependencies, which is good.
Is your battery life garbage?
I mean my phone survived 11 hours but I didn't touch it when it got to 60%, next thing I know is I have 20%
>Hey Lineagefags, how has your "new" OS been treating you?
I kinda went with the transition from CM to lineage without wiping but a few apps. Working fine here.
>Does OTA work for you?
>Implying I don't build from source with patches
all phonefags should be banned from Sup Forums
Since CMSDK has been removed, there's literally no proprietary software in Lineage anymore, except for Gello and TimeService, and of course device firmwares. SetupWizard and LockClock have been freed, see github.com
freecyngn hasn't been updated properly to reflect these changes yet.
t. Someone who has maintained his own patches to remove proprietary shit from the source code since CM13
To add to this, it's unlikely Gello and TimeService will be removed anytime soon.
Gello is simply a fork/rebuild of Chromium, which has source code available. This is due to the deprecation of the AOSP Browser. I'm unsure which parts are proprietary, but I don't trust Chrom* and will probably build a new webview soon with copperheados patches for my phone.
TimeService is included with the device drivers/firmware for your phone. While it's completely unnecessary to have it installed, and I'm unsure what it actually does, it differs per phone and would have to be fully reverse engineered, which isn't something a lot of people are up for doing.
Works completely fine
LG G2 here... should I go with Nightly or Exprimental?
Bls resbond
Right, it's good LockClock and SetupWizard have been freed, and I think that means freecyngn can be a lot simpler since it doesn't have to mimic the setup wizard.
There is also unrar, which mimi89999's fork of freecyngn removes.
But it looks like a bunch of essential apps also have proprietary dependencies, unless the same change affects them as well. github.com
>Yet to try it out. Anyone here that has experience with LineageOS on LG G4 (H815)?
I've used it on the LG G4 H811 with T-Mobile.
There is no wifi calling, no VoLTE, no Auto brightness, and do not use the Google stock camera that comes with GApps, you will lose manual mode, it has less features, and it crashes a lot. Use the stock camera that comes with Lineage.
>Does OTA work for you?
OTA reboots into TWRP and doesn't update.
I have to manually flash it.
The downloaded OTA update is located in:
>/data/data/org.lineageos.updater/app_updates
Thanks user, I was trying to figure out where it had downloaded the ROM.
Why doesn't Lineage work with:
LeEco LETV LE MAX 2
It does, but the Camera doesn't .
I don't want a chink botnet on my phone :(
