My brothers wife dropped her phone into the toilet(yum), They went to some small phone shop and they said they'll repair the damages.
He said, the phone will sit in a container with an Anti-Corrosion liquid.
Me being skeptical about that, decided to do some research. Found a company called ReviveAPhone, who sell a kit with some liquid that miraculously saves your phone from the water&corrosion.
Tl;dr Bro's wife phone got wet, and is submerged in an "anti-corrosion" liquid.

Is it bs?

>Is it bs? yes, you can't fight fire with fire afterall.

Certain fluid substances surely help something to reduce corrosion, but they're almost certainly not undoing corrosion.
When something like this happens, just open the damn thing and quickly dry it with a towel.
Or don't give a fuck and just restore to your backup to the next chinkphone.

Even though I've seen some youtube vids about it, looked weird, touchscreens worked tho'. I mostly wondered if it fucks your phone on the long ride
Jayden Stewart
It's just isopropyl alcohol
Brandon Sanchez
I never thought it undoes corrosion, that's silly. I wonder what it really does, what substances are there anyway?
Xavier Scott
Not necessarily, could also be a solution of like 20% hydrochloric acid - one of the "rust remover" mixtures. Or some oily coating or some other shit to reduce / stop further contact with air or water. Or something else.
> what substances are there anyway? One of some billion mixtures people concocted?
You'd have to provide observations -or better, measurements- to narrow down what might be in that stuff.
Nolan Ross
>Even though I've seen some youtube vids about it is that supposed to mean something? things are easily faked via video.. esp videos that are uploaded to the internets.
Mason Butler
PS: I'm NOT saying 20% hydrochloric acid is a good idea. Or 10% hydrofluoric acid. Or whatever.
But they could have put it in there. Certainly gives them the claim to "remove rust". It's probably not a valid fix, will more likely fuck up your device and maybe part of you (horray especially for hydrofluoric acid in unknown concentration), but that's what the warnings are for - right?

>small phone shop They might as well steal your fucking phone How fucking stupid and poor are you OP?
David Cook
if you drop your phone in water it's far superior to just put it in a bag of rice for a few days. That will get it sorted
Ian Mitchell
>Anti Corrosive >HCl
Michael Sanchez
Open it and trow it in a 1kg bag of rice.
Nolan Taylor
>hydrofluoric acid >ever
Enjoy your calcium-free bones.

Not everyone live in india like you, panjeet
Evan Lee
>tell someone that a small phone shop claiming to be able to do something that's impossible is probably a scam >no, ur indian Nice argument. Too bad i live in a non-shithole country in europe and have blond hair and blue eyes.

The point is not that they're scamming, the point is if such things even exist.
You're getting scammed just by buying food, nothing is at its real price ever.
They're going to give the phone back, just claimed they can put it in some special liquid. Which do exist. Just that they don't really "anti-corrode"
Not everyone come here for shitposting, some things are actually interesting. Learn stuff instead of shitposting.
Julian Walker
you don't just reverse the corrosion process and replace failed board parts with magic liquid
It's bullshit. Even professional board cleaning doesn't fix problems most of the time
Tyler Wilson
@58976236 >snake oil totally restores your fucked up phone >totally not a scam guys >calls buying food a scam because someone makes profit Don't even bother responding, no more (You)'s from me
Daniel Hall
>his phone isn't water proof
Joshua Parker
Just do this: >turn phone off immediately >put it in rice >wait a week
Tyler Ramirez
>a week later >rice is gone >phone runs but is stuck in chinese >it's hungry again 1 hour later
