My laptop can charge through either USB C port. If I plugged a charger into each USB C port, would it charge twice as fast?
What monitor over 20 inches would you guys recommend for a vertical display?
Also, the monitor has to be over 2 feet above my desk so is there a particular stand recommended as well?
This would be my 3rd monitor
I thought it was both.
If someone installs facebook on their phone which requires permission to access their contacts will facebook have my phone number on file if that person has my phone number in their contacts?
If I use my fingerprint to unlock my phone would the facebook app have access to where that fingerprint is store don the phone?
is there a teamviewer-like program for linux and windows WITH audio
preferably something that can handle a lot of screen updating
What's the difference between knowing code and being a dev?
I mean, I can write C++, and I know OOP and pointers and memory allocation and all that shit, but what's the line that divides me from a C++ dev?
A job.
purpose
a dev is handed down projects that are used to make money. you just write code
To be a dev you have to develop something. Preferably something that actually has a use.
>he still thinks sage is a thing in Sup Forums
OK
But
More specifically, what do I do, what do I learn, such that I can put C++ developer on my CV, rather than C++ programmer
you take on projects, even if they're freelance. something to show that you know how to follow some instructions. sounds like shit, but that's how a lot of people get off the ground.
Are there programs to oc your CPU not in the bios, like with a gui?
What kind of os do groups of the scene use for cracking?
you strap a pair of jumper cables to that motherfucker

A Mac file got separated into Resource Fork and Data Fork because obviously Linux doesn't give a shit about Macs. Can I somehow join them or am I fucked?
/pcbg/ won't comment on my NAS build so I guess I'll ask here.
RAM listed is for my main computer, which I'll be swapping RAM from and using for the NAS.
>If someone installs facebook on their phone which requires permission to access their contacts will facebook have my phone number on file if that person has my phone number in their contacts?
Yep.
If I use my fingerprint to unlock my phone would the facebook app have access to where that fingerprint is store don the phone?
Nope. At least not yet.
Rtfm dawg. It'll help more than any of us can.
Mount the directory as a network share on a Mac and it should automagically be assembled.
Yeah, that's the problem. I don't have a modern Mac, I'm compiling shit for an old Powermac 6100 with no internet.
What's a good program to recover data from an external hard drives that's gotten fucked?
I tried Recuva but it can't read the drive.
After using my Alienware 14 for everything for 3 years, I'm looking at building my first PC. I don't want to skimp on anything important because I hope to not have to upgrade for some time, but it's looking pretty expensive right now; are there any items I can downgrade on to help save cost? PC will be mostly for gaming.
How do I find my selfworth again
What are your ways of contributing to software projects anonymously, while proving to an employer it was you?
Staying off the internet
Co/ck/ here. Unironically, does what mention exist?
>something like this ACTUALLY exists
That's worse than a rice cooker.
Go to /pcbg/.

What are you planning to display on it? I had my Ultrasharp vertical for a while, but then I found it to be more useful in landscape when I started orienting it that way for splitscreen video games with the bf.
Don't post anonymously if you want it tied to you.
Post anonymously if you don't want it tied to you.
Or, if you don't want to contribute, just fork it and take it for yourself.
I've had success with Foremost. dd_rescue to another device if you can.
what the fuck is that EZ-bake oven shit?
What's a cheap but all right router that can be used as a bridge? Powerline adapters are too expensive.
Any tips for decreasing frame drops in mpv on Intel 4000 GPUs?
Is it okay to leave the brick of my laptop charger hanging off the edge of a desk? There's not enough length to leave it flat somewhere. Is this going to cause too much stress or create mustard gas or something?
Supposedly older drivers work better for Intel GPUs.
It's not good to put strain on the charging connector since they're often attached only by solder. Couldn't you set the brick on the desk? Or is the outlet too far away? Get an extension cord, and maybe make things easier for yourself by having the power strip or UPS on the desk.
Im a retard tell me how does 0002 in hex translate to 0x0200
0002 is 0x0002
Why don't you try it and report back to us?
Yes I thought so too but according to this page
>The number of bytes, in big-endian. The typical value of 0002 translates to 0x0200 = 512
If my wifi speed randomly drops to
>big-endian
You never write out big-endian. And even if you did, 0x0002 would be 0x2000 = 8192
How far away are you from the router? Unless you're right next to it it will occasionally drop out.
I'm about 20 feet away but I'm also upstairs.
I only really started having problems a few weeks ago.
wait, fuck. I'm being retarded. it's not the bits that are being reversed (my answer would still be wrong). It's the bytes. 00 02, reversed is 02 00
That's nice and all but how am I suppose to know that ?
00 02 is actually 02 00
I mean how do I know if I should reverse it or not?
if you're talking about a test, they'll either tell you on the test or in the class/notes. If not then you go to a shit-tier university
Right.. so this is the part I skimmed over
>The importance of this is that FAT file systems on disk data structures are little endian, that is, in reverse byte order.
What does it mean?
Yeah they surely crack and test Windows' games on meme distros that don't even come with sane setting OOTB. Idiot.
They use Windows.
exactly what it says on the label. All the data structures are in reverse byte order.
Okay so when Im reading this hexdump
>6673
It's actually supposed to be read as
>7363
that's utterly retarded
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I was at a coffee shop today and Google Maps sent me a notification on my phone advertising the shop I was in.
Is this new? This is the first time I've gotten one. The fact that it was a notification was irritating. Is there a setting to disable this or do I need to resort to disabling GPS access on my map app?
Are there keyloggers for Macs?
My friend wants to put one on his gf's machine because he thinks she's cheating on him or something
That would be worse than cheating, IMO.
Good c books focusing on embedded systems/kernel development?
Just got a new phone (galaxy j7)
I was gonna try to sideload some stuff on it but i can't even browse my phone files on my PC (win7 x64)
Phone is plugged in, set to MTP transfer
Drivers auto-installed to my PC
PC recognizes the phone as a J7 but doesn't show any folders
If I click (or double-click) the phone icon explorer.exe stops responding
What's going on? Do I need to manually find some special driver?
Did you unlock your phone?
don't know the right thread to ask this so i'll just ask here
what are some niche or specific programming jobs/careers that pay well enough if you manage to land one?
Why does turning
media.autoplay.enabled
to 'false' in Firefox break gifs and videos on Twitter, preventing them from being played at all?
>biodegradable graphics cards
No.
>make me a chicken sandwich
Sort of. Some people use old Pentium D CPUs as hand warmers by soldering a 5V battery or USB lead into the power input, but actually getting it up to the temps to heat up food would not be fun.
How many terabyte's of furry porn you got there user?
What's the simplest way to stream a video/playlist of videos from my main computer to my netbook (thats hooked up to my TV)
I have an organized file/folder setup on this PC, and I just wanna be able to watch it on my TV but I also wanna use this PC without having to have some heavy program running in the background
most cheap china shit doesnt have a driver page online, example in finland is a company called mac's gaming. they make keyboards, headsets etc. they have their drivers on CD's
kinda retarded but hey it werks
Share the folder the videos are in? Assuming your OS supports Samba in some form or another, and most do. Alternatively, run an FTP server or something -- there are quite many lightweight solutions in that regard, and media players will often stream over FTP just fine.
Is it possible to create a Windows 8.1 bootable iso that already has updates installed on it? Like the most time consuming ones, so that I dont have to run Winupdate on a fresh install
I think when you use the Microsoft tool to download the .ISO and create a bootable drive you can choose to get the updates with it.
Really?
I used that media creation tool a few years ago and don't remember any such option. If they updated it to allow that, that's awesome, I'll have to give it a look.
I didn't use that feature but when I downloaded windows 10 it asked if I wanted updates as well.
Oh, I'm talking about Windows 8.1
I'll have to see if thats a thing I can do though
i got a message from someone about a github username that i made like 3 years ago and never used (they wanted to buy it), they emailed my email directly via gmail but i have no idea how they got my email since it isnt on my github
can someone elaborate? i literally havent logged into the account in 2 years
this is the github in question github.com/vcv and as far as i can tell there isnt a direct message function on github? how did he get my email?
also this is the reason why he wants to buy it:
github.com
he's making some open source project that is currently called vcvrack and wants it to be just vcv instead
Does what.cd ever have freeleech days like animu trackers?
I forgot a password I set for a rar archive, is there any realistic way to crack it?
Nope
Well, is there a way to search a third party Sup Forums archive via the automatic file names images are given if you save them?
Like, the image I posted in is 1487316221930 . Even without the password I can view the file names and I can just recover the files via searching for them if that's possible
0.6
Are you a normie if you use code libraries?
im trying to boot a linux distro from q usb on my 2011 macbook for giving linux a shot, but i cant seem to have it pick up the usb
I have an aspect ratio question for you video editing types.
I recorded in OBS studio at 5760x1080, I didn't see that it was exporting at 1920x1080 so the .flv file it made looks seven types of squashed. is there a way to force the video itself to the original dimensions so that the video doesn't look like compressed ass? The reason I ask is because I want to make it into a webm,
How much longer until I can get a 1TB SSD for a cheeky $50?
Hey Sup Forums, how do you apply your thermal paste? Has this eternal meme come to a conclusion?
2018-2019 according to this.
browsing the internet on my android tablet sucks because tabs keep auto refreshing when i go back to them
like, if im typing something in tab A, then i open a tab B to watch a video, when i switch back to A it will fucking refresh automatically. switxh back to B and that fucking refreshes
anyone know how to stop this shit? its so fucking stupid
how hot is too hot?
The reason it does that is because it doesn't technically keep those pages open when you leave them. You can think of the tab as more of a link that will load when you choose to open it again.
You might want to give that a look. Or buy a new toaster and dump that ancient one.
That silicon is melting.
is it a plot by the joos to make us waste data? because my 512 mb memory computer from 2001 could keep tabs without killing them
That's pretty hot. Though the processors should be fine if they're not shutting off. Heat is very much not good for a hard drive, though.
