As a huge fan of the 1050 family that's actually real neat.

I look forward to the day of the single slot passive 1050

Makes me wet desu

Elsa better keep it cold

AMD IS MORE THAN DEAD NOW

Woodscrews and house fires

where's muh half height 1050ti? soooo many cheap office pcs with half-height cases and slots ready for cheap 1080p gaming.

anandtech.com/show/11016/gigabyte-launches-lp-geforce-gtx-1050-1050-ti

Also no DVI-A port I guess VGA is truly dead

I just wish they'd bring over those single slot 1070s over here into the US

Why?

Because my old cable box has a single slot expansion and is wide enough to fit one 1070. Its only slightly bigger then a PS4 and it has a mount for a mini itx motherboard. I just want a super tiny PC

Not , but It could useful to put in a really small itx case with only one slot or have 2 in a matx case and still have room for other cards will be a house fire tho

That's what I was thinking, it's either a perfect fit and a housefire, or it does have a gap and you could get away with a two slot cooler anyways
But cases with just one PCIe bracket that makes sense

Anyone else surprisingly impressed with the 1050? I'd like to see an even more low-power version myself.

it already only uses mobo power from slot, wonder how low it can actually go. the laptop ones don't run hot either. pretty nice mainstream piece

We have to go lower!

I would have thought a Low Profile version would have a higher demand (I know they already exist), I don't even know any cases that only have single slot expansion. Someone please enlighten me.

Low profile and single slot are both in demand for the same reason, really tiny little PCs.

So are these faster or slower than the 2G?

You can always do a nice downclock and get it down to a 25w envelope which is what a PCIE 1x provides. Would still make an decent HTPC card clocked down

I might get one. If it stays reasonably cool and quiet.

Passive when?

Passive psu
Passive gpu
One Noctua on CPU
Housefire guaranteed but muh silence

I've never seen a PC case only have 1 expansion slot

some PCs aren't in PC cases.

Yeah but I've only ever seen cases with dual slots (whether LP or ordinary size) never seen one with a single slot.

This

There just normal 1050 tis with a slight overclock, Gigabyte has both 4G and 2G versions

The heat never bothered me anyway

ITT: Computers are only built in pre-made cases bought off amazon, especially custom HTPCs.

If you can make a case you can put an aftermarket cooler on a GPU

I noticed both Gigabyte and MSI 4G clock speeds were lower than the 2G versions is all

If you're building a case and you don't include two expansion brackets who's fault is that kek

The 2G version is a different GPU, 4G has 768 stream processors while 2G only has 640. This is the same for all 1050s i presume
