> Latest greatest DE
> Most advanced audio player ever

Explain this, 14% CPU usage while just playing back music on mobile i3 Sandybridge...where is my battery life going?

>KDE
>battery life

>KDE
>Laptop
>Using a shitty media player
You made your own choices user.

>Most advanced audio player ever
That's deadbeef user.

Even on Linux, Foobar2000 is the best audio player.

I use Audacious.

Different DEs consume different amounts of energy retard. You don't use KDE on a laptop. Dumbass.

plasma5 is great, like 160mb total mem usage on jessie after a clean install

>KDE
It's shit, senpai.
It's shit.

It is not playing back music. With small window of player it is ok.

470Mb for a damn audio player? What is this, Java? Fuck me.

>winamp was bloated with stupid shit for 10 years
>still uses less than 25mb ram

You are currently scanning for music, you fucking faggot. Also amarok is abandoned old shit. Trash that garbage asap.

>kde

>Most advanced audio player ever
You called?

Amarok has never been the best, even advanced player. It just plays music in KDE.

is Amarok a meme? Just like KDE?

Why are you asking me about it?

Amarok is an unmaintained bloated mess. You are better of using something like cantata or clementine instead.

I second cantata. Though I prefer muh ncmpcpp

Fuck. And I just installed opensuse with kde.
Then what's the recommended laptop DE that isn't shit?

>babbies first week at Sup Forums

>implying i go to Sup Forums

Seconding cantata

KDE and XFCE get it right.

KDE looks great in some screenshots but actually running it is terrible.
>that's Linux in general tho

Just werks for me. What are you having problems with?

C++ is the problem. They should write it in Nim

You should use a terminal based audio player you will see how your batrery life will be better

amarok is ugly as fuck

Shat ap cyka

Probably the indexer. I have to exclude some folders of mine to make it stop choking on thousands of comic books and ebooks. It would literally rape my HDDs and for some reason also slow down the desktop to a crawl, even though that shit is on a completely different hdd.
Also, it seems to save all the content of my ebooks in its mysql database and doesn't set a limit to its growth. Resulting in trying to read a 20GB database at startup and not being fast enough in saving that shit when I try to logout. Fuck that noise. It also doesn't remove files that aren't present anymore. Seriously, why the fuck do they not fix that shit. It can't be that hard to throw in a few conditions depending on content and expected database size

That looks so comfy.

whoever is responsible for akanadi should be shot

based music library

linux doesn't have a desktop, OP
linux is a kernel

MusicBee

>how do laptop CPUs work?

xfce or i3.
Dont forget tlp and powertop
