NOMOS or any other Jewish garbage will NEVER, EVER be accepted as an approved brand.

Just added this to my horology collection

Great start, you fucking faggots.

Why should I care about another person's tastes?

*watches
Nineball why do you use the same few thread pictures all the time find some new ones dude
Pic rel8ed

t. pretentious hipster

Should I go back and get it lads? It's still calling me

>This video is no available in your country

Ah yes Lichten((((stien)

I'm going to ask you the only thing that matters:
Do you like it?

I mix it up. Last thread's was one I hadn't used. And it depends which computer I'm on and how many watch images I have.

If you want it, it is good.

What do you currently have in your collection?

is the repeating 15-30-45 on this actually used for something or is it just some derp decoration?

Lovely contribution user really bringing this shit together

Make this /wt/ related

It's used for the time.

Almost won this Type-II just now, but some faggot outbid me last minute. Oh well, there's another one still in play, that one has a faceted crystal.

>no whomstd've

meme.

I don't know much about seikos, is it similar to mine?

I got mine from a charity shop for £10

why do you want a watch from a shitty tv company?

Same factory, but likely made some time later. That's all I could tell, some Seiko quartz-meme autist will probably have more on this.

Does this one work?

youtube.com/watch?v=AQjEjkghQzE

>Outbid at the last minute

Are you ebaying correctly?

I like it but I'm holding out thinking a deal will pop up online considering Zeniths don't hold their value so consistently
2 Vostoks, vintage Technos piece, digital casio, blue ray ii and a bunch of Japanese quartz cheapies

Thank you, I'm learning much

what is with this man's weird fuckin chin

>3 hours left up to £7.50

Cop?

Buying or selling

Why would you?
I could understand if you just need a watch for daily wear, but damn that's uninteresting.
I don't get /wt/'s weird obsession with bland Seikos.

Anyone own a Poljot 3133 or 31659?

Guess not.

>man

Nigga he is no man

>I don't get /wt/'s weird obsession with bland Seikos.
Let the lynching commence.

Honestly I'd go for a Rolex for a first luxury watch but the El Primero is a top notch choice.

I absolutely love the lacquer dial ones.

Buying

Because I'd rather that watch than a big mac at Mcdonalds and they cost the same.

Here's another one that's almost ending ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Seiko-Quartz-Type-2-7123-watch-Made-in-Japan-1978-/182462739343?hash=item2a7ba0738f:g:TUkAAOSw4CFYrF4J

To ebay correctly: Decide how much you want to spend on the item, not the lowest you want to get the item for, assign a value in your head you are happy to bid. Say $50. Wait until 10 seconds till the end and then big $50 even if the item is only at $10.

You will win the item, or if you lose the item you wont be sad as you've driven up the price for someone else, and it's gone for more money than you wanted to pay.

Why do old seiko quartz watches tick between the indacies and not on them?

Is there a reason why women's watches usually don't have a second hand?

They usually do.

Yeah, that's the other one I was talking about.

But I got a second chance on the first one (pic related), since the highest bidder seems to have dropped out.

$45 with shipping, cop or not? Movement is 4336.

All quartz watches are like that if you don't reset the seconds hand correctly. Which might be tricky considering the rotor at the other end of the gear train isn't really stopped from rotating by anything.

I'm literally bidding on a box just to put my Seiko Quartz shitter in lol

Sup /seiko/ what you wearing today?

...

BTW, since el primero has come up, one other place to look for the El Primero movement is in older Movados.

This sold earlier this month
chronocentric.com/forums/chronotrader/index.cgi?page=1;md=read;id=64208

Zenith made the El Primero available to Movado and Movado made the Movado 408 available to Zenith. Both are actually 36,000 beat movements.

So this watch here is a Zenith using the Movado movement.

Beautiful.

Yeah I would like an Explorer or a Millgauss if I were to take that path. I should wait a bit longer until my tastes have settled

Looks good would cop/10
What sorta strap u gon put on that

Your plan is not very good.
If another user follows the same idea, and bids $40, the user who bid $50 will pay $40 + an increment.

That's an amount he is happy to pay though.

Oh.. My bad. For some reason I thought it said that he only wanted to pay $10, but the user told him to just set his maximum bid to $50.
Read it again, and can see I was wrong, haha.

>not the snk809

I shiggy diggy

I bid odd amounts so I wouldn't bid $50 I'd bid $51.78 dollars.

But if it went for $60 I'd not care as it's $10 more than I wanted to pay.

sounds fair

You can't call yourself a horology enthusiast till you own at least one vintage quartz seiko.

What watch has more horological significance than a watch that destroyed the industry?

Yet you don't own an Astron.

can you "polish" brushed steel? As in get scratches out but not make it shiny by polishing too much

If you need scratches out you just rebrush it.

why remove scratches?

>posts same picture of GS 9f3 +/-0s

Is there a good way for removing all the congealed skin in all the small nooks in an old watch?

yeah it's called cleaning

>congealed
Why would skin freeze together?
@(^_^)@

Yeah how do you clean it. You can't get a tool in there and I'd rather not put water on it

Use a toothbrush

>watch that just got delivered has a perfectly aligned bezel and chapter ring

Thanks God

post watch

It's fucking shameful we should even have to worry about it. If Seiko is assembling those parts by machine it's not hard to make a robot that can align parts with an extremely high degree of precision using a camera. If it's being done by people it's even worse as not only is that something easily automated but a human can see it's fucking wrong right then.

is using those ultrasonic cleaners on a watch a good idea?

Still wearing the Seiko Spirit Digital while I wait for my blue sunburst LM Special to finish getting serviced.

I don't even like digital watches that much but that's a nice looking digital watch.

nevermind a quick google shows its a very bad idea apparently

What's the indicator in the bottom right hand corner? Looks like radio waves or something, can this thing set itself by an atomic clock?

It's the only LCD digital watch ever produced with solar charging, radio atomic sync, electroluminescent backlight, stainless steel case, and stainless steel bracelet with solid links and solid end links.

They are hard to find now and not cheap (I paid $180 plus shipping for this one from Yahoo! Japan Auctions), but they are the best LCD quartz watch ever made. The model number is SBPG001 or S760-0AA0.

The icon in the bottom right corner shows how strong the radio signal reception was at last sync. One other neat feature is that the watch continues to display the running time while in the alarm, chrono and timer modes.

This is how you win auctions. Even doing $51.02 will make a huge difference sometimes

Why? The pros ultrasonic clean watches when they service them

you have to break it down to parts first

putting a full working watch in it leads to fuckery

Wish I could be involved in the 2011 watchuseek chinese watch project.

They custom designed a watch at it looked great. And only cost $150

They do one every year but all the other projects look pretty generic and not chinese styled.

Also it was a fucking moonphase

Looks so fresh af my man
What's the dimensions on it

Nice softcore cyborg porn there

thx

Fucking sell that to me

Tfw no plaid today

These "women" aren't real user

user that wanted to make a review channel here
I have about 5 or 6 episodes thought out. No bullshit 20 minute reviews, just 5 or 10 minute humorous video about the watch and the type of person that wears it.
Maybe an in detail follow up

But most importantly:
>No shitty Aussie/britbong/whatever other sub-human accent
>No fucking white gloves
>No hands at all really, just panorama shots in various angles to how off the watch and movement if possible
>No bullshit heritage
>No skwaleee/MOTM shilling
>No fatrico

Still need to get audio/video equipment and find a place to record.
Can't really do it at home because it's always too noisy, so I'm thinking about doing it in my car.

My BIGGEST problem though is that most of my watches are Casio's, Seikos and various other cheap watches. No idea if people are even going to be interested.
Still don't know how I'm going to solve that, buying better watches isn't really possible right now sadly.

Any suggestions watchbros?

I have a couple of 18mm watch bands. What are some good work watches I can put on them? Water resistance to an unassisted swimming depth, a good lume, and a central second hand are essential, a unidirectional bezel would be a plus.

I want one of these, the layered dial and the hands are super sexy. It is sorta thick though.

I heard early versions had some issues with the battery, how can I tell if it's an older or newer one? Are there other issues to watch out for?

Where's a good corner of the web to delve into amateur horology?

Just saw a Datejust 2 on some russian chef on Chefs Table

It looked quite nice

Should I send 200 dorra om a 70s omega seamaster quartz

Post link when done senpai

That is indeed a p nice looking watch
Have your tried contacting someone at sea-gull for a similar design?

Maybe I should email thomas. He's the one who had it made.

I'm fucking happy you went through with it

You could probably get clips of spinning watches from us (can't say they'll all be the same quality.)

That or if you live by people.

I want to change its strap. What should I go for?

You've confirmed there's nothing odd/special about how that strap is attached, right?

>No shitty Aussie/britbong/whatever other sub-human accent

So what's your USP?

Well I'm still getting through the planning
at the moment my strongest computer is a t420 running arch so I still have to look into the editing part of it.
>You could probably get clips of spinning watches from us (can't say they'll all be the same quality.)
That's a great idea, as long as it's in 1080p with decent lighting it wouldn't matter too much.

I would love to get some Steinhart owners to donate some clips
I would totally give the watches "positive" reviews..

That's gonna need an adaptor of some kind.
Lesson #1 in buying watches with weird lugs, make sure the strap option is one you can live with.
The only watch with fucked up lugs that I could live with is the Aquis, and obviously the Gerald Genta watches like the Offshore
