I'm sure those Indians will really appreciated the venerable Finnish quality of this second rate Meizu knock off. Its not like their country isn't already flooded with dirt cheap Android phones.

>bulking out camera
Why?

Also: pic related

what smartphone passes as "quality" nowadays?

its DEAD ON ARRIVAL

phone wars are dead. they've been dead for the last 2 years. nothing will change that.

looks great but i already have an iphone 5s

All their new phones are dope and priced competitively.

Dope

you don't understand how the market works. all that nokia needs to do is take a small share to have access to lots of customers.

I really like the clean Android promise, everyone hates the bloatware in every phone.

Thanks for the shilling, I kinda want the Nokia 5.

This and aluminum makes me want one. Wish it was a tad smaller though

Who the fuck buys these low end phones. Old flagships always end up better, especially if you're into custom ROMs.

wait WHAT?

I got a onePlus because I thought NOKIA shut down....

is it still Windows OS?

Oh, it's a very huge loss for us who use Android. The thread was created with only one purpose: to convince you to buy the Nokia phone.

Nice. Glad that in addition to Sony's Xperia line we've got another option for a handsome Android phone with clean lines. I'd consider one if I ever went back to Android. I wonder if they'll start using the year they become updated to differentiate models , given that current naming scheme.

Nope, vanilla Android

indians and other people with low amounts of disposable income

>just because of the Nokia brand
Sheep.

I don't think you understand how many people own low to mid phones. This is a strong move from them.

>Nokia brand
>just slapped on some generic looking phone
>with none of the great Nokia design

I see it as an insult. Should have re-released this instead.

>>just slapped on some generic looking phone

That's the best part about it

It doesn't look like cancer (most phones look like cancer)

There aren't really any bad looking phones anymore. (Show me one that isn't one of those ruggedized ones). But nothing outstanding either.

>poo in loo wallpaper

DOA

It's a pile of shit. Even Lumia, damn, even Nokia X was better.

Nokia is a meme.

>physical menu buttons
I still have no idea what its redeeming qualities over other android phones are. Though, maybe it's impossible to really stand out with how homogenized smartphones are now. Nokia adopted android over 5 years too late.

>Nope, vanilla Android
vanilla?
Like in no extra OEM shit added?
If they provide a way to install security updates without giving a shit for the carrier then I'm sold.

Also if they bring the quality hardware and manufacturing they use to have, well, whats not to love? I'm Impressed nokia survived all the MS idiotic attepmts to sunk them

>I'm sure those Indians will really appreciated the venerable Finnish quality of this second rate Meizu knock off. Its not like their country isn't already flooded with dirt cheap Android phones.

But India has the 2nd most number of ios devices desu, safe to call them not cheap

>vanilla Android
For $150? Might check it out

Nokia has a place in Indians heart.
>IOS
Population mate
Those two factors don't have to be mutually exclusive here.

Were the Nokia phones back in the 2000s made in Finland?

How Sup Forums is Nokia 6?

>Like in no extra OEM shit added?
Yes.

>If they provide a way to install security updates without giving a shit for the carrier then I'm sold.
Obviously they have yet to prove themselves, but that is what they say. Vanilla android and fast updates.

they were made in hungary too

Where is it made?

Finland youtu.be/P3KtGTcIoPw

>they didnt even upgrade it to 3G
Kinda understand but some networks have already phased out 2G as there are fuck all phones being made for it. Why couldn't they have just put a 3G chip n it? They're probably about the same price now anyway if not cheaper.

If they shelled out a few more euros and got a proper SoC I'd buy one definitely. We need a high end device with a snapdragon 650 or better.

look up the nokia 515

the 650 is a piece of shit, you idiot

or the 230

the 650 is great, and much better tham the 430 or whatever's in the Nokia 6

That's who it's marketed towards though.
Obviously they'll advertise with people from their target audience.

BUT WHERE IS MY PROMISED NOKIA 8 WITH SNAPDRAGON 835?

Why would I spend £40 on a dumb phone when I can get one for a fiver?

For what? Garbage can tier phone games?

And Germany also

i have the 515, and my mom got a 230. the 230 is a cheap clunky piece of shit, even if it's metal. the 515 is metal, well balanced, and has gorilla glass

just because it's much better than a 430 doesn't mean it's good. i'd rather have a snapdragon 800 over a 650

decent response time.
that's why I said 650 or better, 650 being the minimum?

I have a Moto G4 which cost about 150GBP. Paying more for meme phones is retarded at this point

the 650 is in a shit-tier class of processors, the 6xx. no matter which model you pick, it's shit

Might upgrade to one
Even the Nokia 6 is inexpensive, around 250USD, which is crazy
Obviously not full flagship, but close, and pretty awesome budget phone.

is nokia 6 a good option?

You can get RN3PSE or RN4X for 150$.
So yes it's DOA.

If my iPhone 6 breaks I'll get a Nokia 6 or the successor (if it wasn't jailbroken I'd have sold it already). I don't like the Nokia better the world bullshit but I like their practicality.

holy shit . all the new nokia videos are full with autistic indian comments expressing love and admiration to the company . do indians love nokia to this degree ?

is this a sign we should be buying nokia stock

Are undestructible?
Nokia still got a good reputation?
who the fuck is NOKIA?

>2017

It means that's the country they're hiring shills from. Not a good sign if that's the quality standards they are going to apply to the phone.

If you want to pay double the price for half the features of typical chinkphones then yes

When.

that's simply, factually not true.

You realise the SD650 is basically an improved version of SD808? In heavy use it's actually faster than a SD810 because it doesn't overheat and throttle

Definitely

Fucking silly on 2G, no-one in my country can use it, despite getting fucking sick of smartphones.

Can't make this shit up

>lenovo vibe z2 pro for $80
Where?

this

Someone just add a keyboard to one of those please. Even shitty numpad will do, anything will do.

Why the fuck is the rebooted 3310 using 2.5g and not LTE?

>perfect sizes
>micro sd slot
>vanilla android
>no removable battery

so close

I think they are testing the waters...

The Nokia 6 is stupid because the Snapdragon 430 will not handle FHD very well... Besides, the Redmi 4 has a larger battery and a really satisfactory camera and voice call quality. I don't see what's the appeal of the Nokia 5/Nokia 6.

>hiring shills

Nokia was what Apple is now for over 10 years. They still have a lot of fans all over the world.

Can't make this shit up

Didn't Nokia sell their brand to be used on random non-Nokia products like Polaroid did?

If so, how is this a Nokia phone and not a random Chinese one with the Nokia name on it?

The Nokia name and IP is licensed by HMD Global, a Finnish company formed by former employees of Nokia's mobile phone division. The phones are manufactured by Foxconn.

But it's still not Nokia. Just another company that has some people from it.
We still have to see if it holds to the same standards of the actual Nokia that made their name.

So it's a phone for old people?

Why ppl talk about specs and shit when NOKIA means cheap, reliable and durable.

You don't need numbers in some benchmark you need just phone.

>720p
>snapdragon 430
>140€
Nah i will stick to chinkshit

Nokia owns 30% of HMD Global. HMD is a Finnish company and all the employees and management are ex-Nokia. All design is done in Finland.

BETTER THAN APPLE QUALITY youtube.com/watch?v=P3KtGTcIoPw

uggggh I hate white ppl

>all the employees and management are ex-Nokia
>all
Source?

>All design is done in Finland
Done in Finland =/= Done by Nokia
Even if Nokia owns a slice of HMD, it surely doesn't mean everything HMD does will be exactly the same as what Nokia woud've done it.

Nice video besides molesting the rock

While the new phones are very good for Pajeets and other emerging markets there isn't really a reason for anyone in a 1st world country to buy one of these unless you specifically don't want to go Samsung etc.

The specs are outdated, camera is mediocre, the 5.2 inch phone doesn't even have a full hd screen, it's a 720p one. The 5,5 inch one at least has a full HD screen, but at that size I feel like they could've gone for a 1440p screen. At least that decision will save on battery life, and it's still a phone screen so going much higher than 1080p isn't really necessary.

Here's hoping that they come out with a flagship device that I would actually want to buy. I really like the design they've gone for, and I would love to support Nokia seeing how I live in Finland, but damn are they making it hard to choose them.
I guess the phones aren't really marketed towards me in the first place, but it's a bit sad that they forgot about me, even though it's understandable with how big the mid-range and low-end phone markets are.

JUST make something I would want to buy Nokia, please give me a reason, any reason.

>Source?

hmdglobal.com/about/

I can't find where it says that they're all ex-Nokia.
Can you tell me exactly where is it?

Not him, I dunno if they are ALL ex-Nokia, but I know personally that most of them are.

t. Finnish Burger

Most of whom?
Of all their employees or just their management?

650 is a smaller number than 800 you tech illiterate retard

god, fuck neo-Sup Forums

The company was founded by people who left Nokia when it all started to go to shit, so most of the management. There are regular employees that are ex-Nokia as well.

Why shouldn't I get the 3 though? For €139 it looks really damn attractive.

So the engineers and specialists aren't ex-Nokia for the most part, right?

The managers are those from the late Nokia where all those nonsensical decisions were made, or from the old Nokia where it was the best, or both?

I really hope Nokia makes a good comeback with competitive Android phones. Seeing that it didn't go that far from the original Nokia gives me a bit of hope.
I'll still wait to see if it lives up to its name though.

I haven't looked at the 3, it might be great for that price, I have no idea

There are engineers from Nokia, I don't know how many they are though. I have hope, but this initial outing doesn't seem to be targeted towards the western market.
As for the managers, they are ex-engineers/employees and weren't (as far as I know) part of the higher management, so it should be all good.
